    • - Thanks for joining us today... a decent point for Newcastle in the circumstances... Hull v Newcastle on Monday night - see you then!
    • 90'+4 There it is! All over and Everton pass up on the chance to close the gap on Arsenal by more than a point!
    • 90' Poor second half from Everton... disappointing.
    • 86' Fellaini goes into the book for an off the ball incident with Butt... that's his 11th of the season... he's not even a dirty player!
    • 84' Saha fancies his chances here! He turns and runs at the heart of the Newcastle defence... but his shot is wild and Harper breathes a sigh of relief.
    • 82' Time is running out for Everton to grab a winner here... but they're not really looking likely at the moment.
    • 78' Jo! Oooh! The Brazilian gets a free header, but he can only direct it straight at Harper!
    • 77' Alan Smith is about to make an entrance! Haven't seen him all season! Off goes Lovenkrands, no doubt to contemplate his glaring miss in the first half.
    • 74' Here comes Saha... to replace Gosling.
    • 73' But here's Newcastle on the break... Martins plays in Gutierrez who hares off downfield... he attempts to chip Howard but his effort goes over the bar! A warning to Everton nevertheless!
    • 72' Louis Saha looks like he's coming on to add some firepower to Everton's attack...
    • 71' Steven Taylor goes in for an aerial challenge with Gosling... the Everton man goes down but Taylor escapes reprimand by the ref.
    • 70' Just 20 minutes remaining and still no breakthrough for Everton.

    • 61' Everton still dominating possession this half... hardly surprising given Newcastle have a man less.
    • 58' Here comes Obafemi Martins to a huge roar from the Tyneside faithful.... and it's Ameobi who is brought off at his expense.
    • 58' Fellaini and Lescott are there, but Butt manages to clear for Newcastle!
    • 57' Jagielka wins a corner for Everton as the Toffees look for the opener... Baines to take it.

    • 51' Taylor whips it in... but Howard is there to punch clear!
    • 50' Gutierrez shows what he's capable of, running Jagielka inside and out before the England man is forced to haul him down... free-kick to Newcastle.
    • 48' The ball falls to Yobo on the edge of the area... he takes a touch, comes back inside and lets fly with a decent strike at goal! But it's over the bar and Harper isn't called into action.
    • 46' And, as expected, Newcastle have made a change at the break... Gutierrez is on at the expense of Duff.
    • 46' Back underway at St James' Park!
    • 45'+8 There goes the half-time whistle! Goalless at the break, but with Newcastle down to 10 men, the second half promises a breakthrough.
    • 45'+7 Anichebe can't continue... and he's replaced by Fellaini, who enters the fray in the seventh minute of time added on at the end of the first half!
    • 45'+3 Rodwell attempts a header from a standing position on the edge of the box... but it lacks power and Harper is able to deal with it easily.
    • 45' Thankfully, Anichebe is able to get up on his own... he hobbles off for further treatment.
    • 44' NOLAN'S SENT OFF! The Scouser jumps in on the ankle of Anichebe with an appalling tackle... and the ref produces a straight red! Deserved, that was a potential leg breaker... Newcastle down to 10 men and they can have no complaints at all.
    • 41' The ball's in the back of the Everton net! But it won't count... Bassong fouls Howard as the pair challenge for an high ball! Not too many complaints...
    • 39' Ameobi gets his head to a cross into the box! But it rather glances off his forehead and the ball goes wide of the far post!
    • 36' Not bad from the former Wigan man! He gets it up and over the wall, but the ball whistles about a yard wide of Howard's goal.
    • 35' Butt dinks the ball over Lescott, whose hand gets in the way... free-kick to Newcastle, right on the edge of the Everton box! Ryan Taylor over it...
    • 32' Newcastle won't have a better chance than that all afternoon... and Lovenkrands may come to rue that miss.
    • 31' What a miss! Lovenkrands is played in on goal by some lovely vision by Butt! He tries to pick the bottom left corner, but the ball flies the wrong side of the post!
    • 29' Off the post! Rodwell arrives at the back post to meet the corner and sidefoots a volley against a combination of the post and Ryan Taylor!

    • 25' Mark Viduka gets a cheer as he gets off the bench to do a spot of warming up...
    • 22' Jo tries to latch onto a long ball forward, but Lescott is there to mop up the danger.
    • 20' And then Jagielka is picked out at the far post! But the defender slices his volley wide of the upright!
    • 19' Ooh! Everton nearly take the lead! Only a superb save by Harper denies Yobo a cute glancing header at the near post!
    • 16' The news coming from the dressing room is not good for Everton... Arteta's got ligament damage and he's in quite some pain.
    • 15' Castillo! Oooh! Not a bad effort by the substitute! He latches onto a loose ball on the edge of the box but his shot flies wide of the upright!
    • 12' A Newcastle free-kick into the Everton box sparks mild panic, but the visitors get a free-kick and the pressure eases.
    • 9' Fortunately not... Rodwell's back on his feet and Everton don't have to deal with a second injury before we've even got 10 minutes on the clock!
    • 8' What's going on?! Now Rodwell hits the deck clutching his knee after a challenge by Ryan Taylor! Surely not another casualty so early?
    • 7' He's off! Arteta is stretchered off... Segundo Castillo comes on to replace the stricken Spaniard.
    • 5' Arteta's still down... he won't be able to continue, surely.
    • 3' This doesn't look good for Everton... Arteta hits the deck in some pain after a collision with Lovenkrands and he's immediately signalling for the trainer...
    • 1' Gosling takes full advantage of a slip by Ryan Taylor... he sets off towards goal and lets fly! Just wide of Harper's upright, but a statement of intent from the visitors nevertheless!
    • 1' Here we go! Underway at St James'!
    • - Everton boss David Moyes brings in Joseph Yobo and Jo as Tim Cahill and Tony Hibbert are both suspended.
    • - Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins returns to the bench but otherwise Chris Hughton names an unchanged side.
