    • Hull City
    • 90+2' That's it folks and it's been a miserable afternoon for Newcastle United. Hull deserved the victory - their first away win the Premier League.
    • 89' A moment of ridiculous stupidity from Guthrie, who kicks out deep in the Hull half and gets a deserved red card. That compounds a miserable day for Newcastle United.
    • 82' Newcastle are really pushing hard here, but Hull are holding firm. King makes way for Hull, to a standing ovation from the home support.
    • 81' NEWCASTLE HAVE A LIFELINE!!! N'Zogbia's low shot from the edge of the area hits the post and XISCO BAGS THE REBOUND!!!
    • 73' Free-kick for Newcastle, on the corner of Hull's penalty area. Geremi takes it, but it's straight at the wall and Hull clear their lines comfortably.
    • 68' Newcastle have made their second change. Edgar makes way for Sebastien Bassong.
    • 65' TURNER!!! The defender heads home, but the referree disallows the goal for an infringement in the box.
    • 61' Newcastle make their first change. Ignacio Gonzalez replaces the ineffective Ameobi.
    • 60' Newcastle are so open at the back, it's ridiculous. They're going at it, but with such big holes at the back a breakaway looks likely for Hull.
    • 57' Another fine save from Myhill, this time he tips a looping Guthrie shot onto the bar.
    • 54' 2-0!!! SUPERB FINISH FROM KING!! The striker is found in ACRES OF SPACE through the middle and he takes his time, cuts back inside and sends a wonderful curling shot away from Given to put the visitors two up!!
    • 48' Good start from Hull, who come at Newcastle straight away. The home side respond, and Geremi whipes over a deep corner from the right - it's TOO LONG AND TOO HIGH to cause a problem however.
    • 46' Away we go with the second half!! "COCKEY MAFIA OUT!" reads a banner making its way around the stadium.
    • 45' That's it for the first-half folks and the scoreline makes bad reading for fans of Newcastle United - who trail at home to supposed "relegation shoo-ins" Hull City by 1-0. King was calm and composed from the penalty spot.
    • 42' Owen bursts through, but stumbles over the ball and the chance is gone.
    • 40' Owen sends over a harmless cross, the ball somehow works its way to GEREMI!!! Who scuffs one wide. Poor, very poor.
    • 38' Hull sense their chance here, and suddenly the game comes to life. Owen is incensed over a tackle in the centre circle and tensions are rising.
    • 34' Up steps King, and he strikes a firm penalty to Given's right. The Irishman gets a hand to it, but it hits the post and goes in. Hull, despite having been completely outplayed for 30 minutes, lead 1-0!!
    • 31' PENALTY TO HULL!!! Butt slides in to make a tackle and catches Peter Halmosi clumsily when there was no real danger.
    • 30' BRILLIANT SAVE FROM BOAZ MYHILL!!! Geremi whipped in a free-kick and Owen flicked it goalwards with his head only to see the Welshman dive to his right and deny him.
    • 28' David Edgar blasts forward, but is crudely barged to the floor and wins Newcastle a free-kick, 35 yards out. Geremi takes it, and balloons one behind for a goal-kick. What a waste.
    • 24' Ameobi is spending much of his time on the left flank, and he wins his side a throw-in deep in Hull territory. Newcastle go backwards...
    • 20' Paul McShane whips in a wonderful cross from the right and Given decides to stay rooted to his line...King can't quite connect with his header and Newcastle clear.
    • 18' Lovely play from Newcastle. Geremi ghosts forward elegantly and plays in DANNY GUTHRIE!!! Who mis-hits his finish and wastes a glorious chance to put Newcastle ahead.
    • 14' Hull counter-attack, and Marlon King has the first shot on target, driving a low effort into the underbelly of Shay Given from 12 yards.
    • 12' Ameobi wins the first corner of the match, which Xisco meets powerfully - but his header is high and wide.
    • 9' All Newcastle in the early exchanges, Nicky Butt is scurrying around like a hyper-active toddler in midfield and Hull can't get the ball out of their half. Plenty of empty seats at St James' by the way - NOT A GOOD SIGN FOR FANS OF ASHLEY.
    • 6' Neat work from Michael Owen, who drops back and collects possession, before skipping around a tackle and playing the ball crisply into Ameobi. After being overlooked for England, Owen has a point to prove today.
    • 4' Positive start from Newcastle. Shola Ameobi gets his first glimpse of goal - meeting a deep cross from the right but he's unable to control his header and it's behind for a goal-kick.
    • 3' What a week it's been for Newcastle. The knives will be out for chairman Mike Ashley today and he'll be praying United can romp home to soften the mood somewhat. Team news - Carig Fagan starts for Hull, who make wholesale changes from their last Premier League outing, a 5-0 drubbing at home to Wigan.
    • 1' And we're off, with Newcastle in their familiar black and white stripes and Hull in a rather fetching grey away strip.
