    • 90' It is all over here at Fratton Park. Defoe's fifth goal of the season ensures that Harry Redknapp's side pick up their fourth league win of the season. That was an average game interspersed with moments of brilliance. All in all that was the right outcome!
    • 90' Stoke have a chance to score right at the death but Amdy Faye's free kick is very poor and it looks like Portsmouth will be taking the three points today.
    • 88' Fuller looks to have picked up a knee injury following in an aerial tussle with Sol Campbell. Stoke have already made three substitutions and they will find it all the more harder to sneak the leveller with on ten fit players on the pitch.
    • 87' Portsmouth are in complete control now but will be worried that they have not extend their lead to make the last few minutes slightly more comfortable for themselves.
    • 84' Crouch receives a cross Davis from deep on the left wing. The striker was alone in the box but his first touch let him down badly. Simonsen gets rid of the problem before the former Liverpool man can get his shot in.
    • 82' Simonsen beats Defoe in a race to the ball which is lucky for the visitors as the former Spurs man would have been odds on to increase the lead with the goal at his mercy.
    • 78' Sol Campbell gets in the way to thwart a Soares effort from distance.
    • 77' The game is turning scrappy now as both times begin to tire. Peter Crouch goes down in the box but his efforts to win a penalty are waved away, and rightly so.
    • 67' Portsmouth look to be in control and in an attempt to shake things up Pulis has rung in the change bringing on Tom Soares and Mamady Sidibe for Kitson and Tonge respectively.
    • 66' Simonsen picks up a yellow card for a foul on Traore outside his 18 yard box. The young winger was going nowhere and the hosts caused concern for their counterparts as they attempted, but failed, to get a shot on goal.
    • 63' Simonsen is called into action again as he is first forced to save a shot from Traore from inside the box and then thwart Peter Crouch's attempt to claim his brace with a header from inside the box.
    • 58' Peter Crouch draws another excellent save from Simonsen who parries away his shot from around 12 yards.
    • 55' Shot by Danny Higginbotham hits a right-footed from left side of penalty area but misses from about six yards out. That was a good chance for the leveller wasted from Tony Pulis's men.
    • 51' Defoe restores the lead for the host with a fine individual effort moments after he hits the post with another effort. The diminutive striker hits a left footed shot low and hard into the bottom left of the net from around 20 yards. The second half has certainly started with a bang.
    • 48' GAME ON! Fuller scores against the run of play for Stoke as he rises at the back post to head home a flick on from Kitson.
    • 46' Straight away Portsmuoth show their intentions and Hughes tests the opposition keeper with a speculative shot from distance. Good save from Simonsen.
    • 46' Both sides have lined are out on the pitch and the second half is under way.
    • 45' It certainly isn't the most entertaining game here on the South Coast but Peter Crouch's spectacular over-head kick more than makes up for it. Harry Redknapp's outfit look to be well in control but Stoke have caused them some concern with those long throws from Delap.
    • 45' Defoe sends a cross from the bye line in towards Peter crouch but the striker is thwarted by a combination of Simonsen and Higginbotham. It proves to be the last action of the half as the referee blows his whistle for half time.
    • 44' Defoe has a penalty shout waved away by referee Andre Marriner on reflection it was the right decision.
    • 44' Belhadj bursts down the right wing but his cross into the box is poor and goes straight out for a goal kick.
    • 39' Kitson hits a shot from about 12 yards out but it is not powerful enough to trouble James in the Pompey goal. That was a good opportunity wasted!
    • 38' Delap crashes into the hoarding and looks to have picked up a knock. Higginbotham has taken over the throw in duties.
    • 37' Delap hits a wild shot from deep on the right wing. Stoke are starting to look desperate and clutching at straws here.
    • 33' Defoe makes space for himself in the box after receiving a pass from Davis and drives a left foot shot at Simonsen. The keeper palms the shot straight into the path of an onrushing Bouba Diop who blasts harmlessly over.
    • 31' Defoe wins a free kick after a tangle in midfield the free kick is wasted and the game has turned tame since Defoe put the visitors ahead.
    • 25' Defoe dinks a great cross in for Peter Crouch and the lanky striker sends the ball crashing into the net with a fantastic over head kick. What a goal! That was absolutely magnificent. 1-0 Portsmouth.
    • 22' Seyi Olofinjana gets a yellow card for a needless foul on Sean Davis but the resultant free kick, from a great position about five yards outside the box, from Traore is a poor effort and hits the wall
    • 21' Another long throw from Delap causes confusion in the Pompey six yard box before it is belted clear.
    • 19' After a slow start Stoke seem to have a foot hold in the game. The home side are finding it hard to get the ball to their strikers.
    • 15' Delap sends in another long throw and after a bout of head tennis between the Stoke players Ricardo Fuller puts in a weak shot. That was made too easy for David James.
    • 12' Dave Kitson misses a gilt edge chance to put Stoke a goal to the good against the run of play. A poor clearance from James finds its way to an unmarked Kitson but the former Reading player can only left it over the onrushing goalkeeper and wide right.
    • 10' Michael Tonge fouls Sol Campbell but David James only manages to send the resultant free kick out for a throw in.
    • 7' Armand Traore whips a cross into the box the youngster on loan from Arsenal looks like he is intent on causing the visitors problems today.
    • 5' Stoke launch a long throw into the box with Rory Delap on the pitch this is something we could see more than once this afternoon.
    • 4' Papa Bouba Diop has a shot from distance but it flies just wide of the right post. Portsmouth have started well.
    • 1' The game is underway.
