    • Sunderland
    • Everton
    • 90+4' That's the end of that. Desperately poor from Sunderland, who remain in serious relegation trouble.
    • 90+1' Phil Bardsley picks up his 10th booking of the season.
    • 90' Diligent work from Neville to win the ball in the right-back position and launch a counter-attack.
    • 88' Yobo gets tangled with Jones who is running through on goal... referee Atkinson says no foul. The Evertonian a touch lucky, perhaps.
    • 86' Everton make another change - Secundo Castillo replaces the promising Gosling.
    • 85' Saha has his foot up and catches Anton Ferdinand. Yellow card for the Frenchman, and an absorbent bandage for Ferdinand.
    • 84' Yellow card Gosling for an over-zealous challenge.
    • 83' Now Carlos Edwards comes on for Steed Malbranque.
    • 81' Louis Saha comes on for Jo. A brief run-out for the injury-prone Frenchman.
    • 79' The hitherto excellent Pienaar is shown a yellow card, but Sunderland fail to create anything from the free-kick.
    • 78' Jo! Glances a header goalwards but there is no power.
    • 76' Malbranque's cross comes off the outside of his boot and nearly swerves over Howard, who reacts well and tips the ball over.
    • 74' On comes Jack Rodwell for Lars Jacobsen...
    • 73' Cahill gets away from Bardsley and has a more-or-less free header... over!
    • 72' It doesn't show a lot of faith in Sunderland's goalscoring powers that about half of the 41,000-strong crowd have just made for the exit 20 minutes from time.
    • 71' GOOAAALLL!! Marouane Fellaini makes it two for Everton!! Sunderland fail to cut out Pienaar's low cross from the right and Fellaini sidefoots coolly into the far corner.
    • 70' Baines lobs the free-kick towards Fellaini who looks like he is being pulled back, but referee Atkinson sees nothing wrong.
    • 69' Whitehead trips Pienaar 35 yards from goal - a bit far for a shot, but a good opportunity nonetheless.
    • 67' Lumped long downfield for Jo, who is beaten in the air and Sunderland look to break.
    • 65' Fellaini is through and nicks the ball past Fulop, but Davenport denies him with a brilliant saving tackle.
    • 64' Richardson strikes a powerful free-kick, but it is straight at Howard.
    • 63' Sunderland make a change - David Healy on for the poor Djibril Cisse.
    • 62' Everton work the ball around with some superb one and two-touch passing but Pienaar loses possession at the edge of the box.
    • 61' Sunderland are certainly playing with a bit more tempo even if the quality is not great.
    • 59' Diagonal cross curled towards Cahill but Davenport does really well to get a glancing touch on it.
    • 57' Everton win a corner on the left deep inside the Sunderland half... Pienaar lofts a cross towards Gosling who just cannot get a foot up to it.
    • 56' Another corner for Sunderland who have certainly perked up... glanced goalwards by Jones but with no power.
    • 54' Offside flag up against Jo as Everton threaten to add a second goal.
    • 53' Risky backheader from Yobo which has just enough pace to get to Howard ahead of Jones.
    • 52' Collins wins a corner off Gosling on the Sunderland left. A decent response. But the header is cleared.
    • 50' The Sunderland corner comes in for COLLINS!!! He heads straight at Howard but it is better from Sunderland.
    • 49' Yobo leaves a long throw from the Sunderland right and Jacobsen has to deal with it - he puts the ball out for a corner.
    • 48' GOOOAAALLL!!! A rare moment of quality results in the opener for Steven Pienaar. Jo plays a lovely through-ball for Pienaar who takes a touch and bundles the ball past Fulop!
    • 47' Everton make the brighter start to the second half but Baines's cross from the left is blocked.
    • 46' Second half under way! No personnel changes from either side.
    • 45+4' That's the end of a pretty atrocious half of football. Let's just draw a line under that.
    • 45+2' Baines hounds Bardsley back towards his own corner flag but the Sunderland man does well to knock the ball out off Baines's shins for a throw.
    • 45+1' Four minutes of stoppage time to be played and, quite frankly, nobody needs that.
    • 45' Leadbitter flies in on Fellaini who stays on his feet. A less honest player might have tried to get the Sunderland man a second yellow card.
    • 44' Gosling gets a couple of studs in the ankle courtesy of Richardson, but it was a fair challenge. Just unfortunate.
    • 42' Now Everton want a free-kick for a foul at the edge of the box but referee Atkinson says no dice.
    • 41' Leadbitter pulls Fellaini back by his shirt and that is a clear yellow card.
    • 39' Howard clears his lines and this is a chance for Everton to break. But Pienaar is fouled cynically by Richardson who is very lucky not to go into the book.
    • 38' Jo breaks forward down the centre and finds Pienaar on the left, whose shot from the edge of the box is blocked by his ownman Gosling.
    • 36' Sunderland win a corner on their left - can they provide better service into the box? Er, no...
    • 35' Baines sends a free-kick into the Sunderland box...and over the bar. Wasted.
    • 33' An amazing finish in the Heineken Cup semi-final between Cardiff and Leicester. Follow the closing minutes here
    • 32' Everton corner swung into the box but Yobo is penalised for a foul.
    • 31' Cynical foul from Davenport, holding Jo back. Clear yellow card.
    • 30' Fellaini uses his astonishing physical presence to stop Malbranque dead in his tracks. Foul.
    • 28' Malbranque has had a white paste applied to his head following that early clash so - from up high, it looks like he has a massive bald patch. Just thought you'd like to know.
    • 27' Collins jumps for a header and comes down the wrong way up. That looks painful, but he appears more or less unscathed.
    • 26' Leadbitter plays a one-two with Jones and fires a low shot that skids a yard wide of the left-hand post.
    • 24' An Everton free-kick is lofted into the danger area but Lescott, Cahill and Fellaini all fail to reach it. Mind you, they would have to have been nine feet tall and had the aid of a pogo stick.
    • 23' I have to say I'm really scratching around for anything to say about this. Very little incident worthy of note.
    • 21' Whitehead is away down the right but he overhits his cross... Sunderland keep it in play and eventually win a corner.
    • 19' Blimey, now Jo has a knock, Talk about a stop-start match.
    • 18' This is not a classic by any means. Everton certainly look the livelier and more inventive but is has not been stellar stuff.
    • 16' Another injury, this time to the groggy Tim Howard, who gets back to his feet after a brief bit of treatment.
    • 15' Pienaar slips a sensational ball through for Jo who drags his left-foot shot just wide from the left side of the box.
    • 14' Jo is released down the left channel but he strays just offside.
    • 12' Baines does extremely well to hold off the massive Kenwyne Jones and in the end Martin Atkinson awards Everton a free-kick that the Sunderland striker disputes vociferously.
    • 11' CAHILL!!! Strikes a 20-yarder with plenty of dip but it is straight at Fulop.
    • 9' Cahill meets the corner with a header and Fulop does really well to punch the ball away with Jo right in front of him.
    • 8' Baines feeds Pienaar down the left and he clips a cross... Ferdinand heads behind for a corner.
    • 7' It has been a steady start from both sides. Sunderland have won only one of their last nine and are bereft of confidence.
    • 5' Ferdinand is up and will attempt to soldier on.
    • 4' Another injury now as Anton Ferdinand stays down following a coming-together with Jo.
    • 3' Leadbitter swings in the first corner of the game and Everton deal with it relatively easily.
    • 2' There are men down following a clash of heads between Tim Cahill and Malbranque. Both men should be OK to continue.
    • 2' Phil Bardsley tangles with Marouane Fellaini, sticking a hand in the Everton man's face and then inadvertently kicking him in the crown jewels.
    • 1' Sunderland kick off playing from left to right as we see it.
    • - For Sunderland, Grant Leadbitter and Steed Malbranque get the nod ahead of Teemu Tainio and Carlos Edwards. Dan Gosling gets a run-out for Everton in the absence of Leon Osman.
    • - Sunderland are in real danger of dropping into the bottom three and desperately need points today. Victory for Everton would nail on their Europa League spot.

  1. We do not pay to watch such a set of prima donnas " play acting " and pretending to be footballers. Teach them to control the ball, play football, - not to take dives.

They are representing SUNDERLAND and should give their all !!

Being a SUNDERLAND fan i will never ever go and pay to watch another professional football match anywere. the prices they charge and the wages they pay to these so called prima donnas is just not worth it. its about time the fans stayed away and go shopping with there wives it would be much cheaper and less stressful.
