    • 94' There's the final whistle. Cisse's header gives Sunderland a 1-0 wni over Hull to ease their relegation fears, though Phil Brown's side are now edging ever closer to the drop.
    • 94' Sunderland break now...and Daryl Murphy smacks a left foot shot onto the post, before Richardson blazes the rebound over. A let-off for Hull.
    • 94' Manucho rises in the Sunderland area to meet Mendy's cross, but once again his effort finishes wide of the post. To be fair, there wasn't enough pace on the ball for him to trouble Gordon anyway.
    • 91' Sunderland have valuable possession in the Hull half, but Leadbitter is dispossessed, and the Tigers will come forward again.
    • 90' We're into injury time, and it's all or nothing for Hull now.
    • 88' Panic in the Sunderland defence as a Hull cross is not cleared. But the play is brought back for a free-kick right on the edge of the area. Dawson swings it in, but it's cleared by a Sunderland head.
    • 84' Manucho runs with the ball before firing in a hopeful shot from all of 30 yards, though it's well wide of the target.
    • 80' The frustration is beginning to show on the face of Hull boss Phil Brown. His side have ten minutes to find themselves a goal, and they haven't looked like scoring all afternoon.
    • 75' Ricketts with a fine ball to the far post for Folan...but the big striker plants his downward header just wide! Hull's best chance of the game so far.
    • 72' Sunderland break at speed now!! It's four on two...but Cisse is too slow in possession and is finally robbed of the ball.
    • 68' Fine catch from Craig Gordon from a high ball in a crowded penalty area. Hull have yet to genuinely test the Scot this afternoon.
    • 67' Caleb Folan is on for Dean Marney for Hull.
    • 63' Handball against Boateng as Hull press forward. Now Sunderland break at speed. Cisse feeds Leadbitter fromwide, before he releases Andy Reid in behind the Hull defence...but Reid fires his shot over the bar.
    • 61' The home fans are in good voice at the moment. Their team is in a good position to ease their relegation worries, but they won't be able to relax until they get that crucial two-goal cushion.
    • 58' Ricketts's long throw rebound back to Boateng, who lets fly with another volley...though with the same result. Wide of the right hand post.
    • 55' An excellent spell of pressure here for Sunderland. Jones has just glanced Leadbitter's cross wide of the far post.
    • 54' Jones now turns and looks to get a shot away from a tight angle in the Hull area, though Mike Dean has somehow managed to find a foul in there. It looks like he has given a handball against the Trinidian, even though the ballwent nowhere near his arm.
    • 52' George Boateng lashes a volley inches wide off the post for Sunderland from Davenport's headed clearance.
    • 50' Cisse fires in an audacious shot from wide that takes an awkward bounce in front of Myhill, but the 'keeper deals with it well.
    • 49' Kenwyne Jones has the ball in the back of the net from Andy Reid's header back across goal...but it won't count! He was offside.
    • 47' Fine flick on from Kenwyne Jones finds Cisse...he looks to be offside, but the flag stays down. He lets fly on the volley...and Myhill pulls off a fine save!!
    • 46' Jones and Cisse startthe second half off for Sunderland.
    • 45+2' There's the half-time whistle. 1-0 to Sunderland,thanks to Djibril Cissé.
    • 45+2' Cisse is booked for running into the crowd during his celebration.
    • 45+1' GOAL!!!! Djibril Cissé puts Sunderland 1-0 up in first-half injury time with a glancing header! Andy Reid whipped in a pacy ball from the left wing, Danny Collins flicked the ball on, and Cissé was there at the far post to nod home.
    • 45+1' Fine interplay between Cisse and Edwards, and Hull are grateful to see Kilbane arrive back and clear for a corner.
    • 43' Dangerous shot across the face of goal from Marney eludes Fagan at the back post and is out for a corner.
    • 42' Edwardsgets himself a yard of space and swings a decent ball into the area...but it's straight into the arms of Myhill.
    • 40' The referee stopsplay as Leadbitter is down with a head injury. He should be okay to resume by the looks of things.
    • 38' Silly challenge from Carlos Edwards on Andy Turner. He had the Hull man under pressure, was about to win a throw in deep in the Hull half, and went and gave away a free-kick. Crazy.
    • 37' Now Kilbane goes flying in on Reid...and is the second name in the book in quick succession.
    • 35' Michael Turner trips Craig Gordon as the 'keeper looks to take a kick-out, and the Hull man is promptly booked.
    • 34' It falls to Geovanni on the volley on the edge of the area...but he scuffs his shot.
    • 33' Fagan goes to the ground like a sack of spuds in the Sunderland area...but the referee correctly waves play on.
    • 29' Chaos in the Hull area as two players swing and miss at the cross...and Andy Dawson hacks clear at the far post!
    • 28' Sunderland have a free-kick 30 yards out. Andy Reid steps up...and fires into into the wall and out for a corner.
    • 26' Manucho steals possession in the Sunderland half. Fagan spreads it wide to Geovanni who crosses for Kilbane...but his header is parried wide by Gordon.
    • 24' Fine delivery from Geovanni from the corner. Manucho is lurking in the area, but he can't quite get his head to the ball.
    • 24' Geovanni lets rip with a free-kick from allof 35 yards...and it's off the top of the wall and out for a corner.
    • 22' Poor delivery again from Leadbitter. It comes to nothing.
    • 21' Excellent persistance from Collins down the left for Sunderland. He manages to win the ball off Ricketts and narrowly keep it in. He crosses...and it comes off a Hull leg for a corner.
    • 16' Leadbitter swings it in, but it's straight into the arms of Myhill.
    • 15' Poor decision from the referee there. Edwards hurls himself to the ground after losing the ball and manages to con the referee into awarding a free-kick...which now turns into a corner.
    • 11' A low ball into the area from Geovanni finds Manucho, but he fails to bring it under control and the chance is gone.
    • 10' Leadbitter has a crack...but fires it straight into the base of the wall.
    • 9' Fine, incisive run from Cisse from deep, and he is unceremoniously upended by Dawson. That should have been a booking. Free kick 30 yards from goal.
    • 5' Poor delivery from the corner, it comes to nothing.
    • 4' Two high balls pumped into the Sunderland area cause a bit of panic among the home defence. Kevin Kilbane gets a shot away on the second rebound, and it's deflected behind for a corner.
    • 1' Hull get the first half underway!
    • 14:58 The players are walking out onto the pitch and we're almost ready to go here at the Stadium of Light.
    • - Between them Sunderland and Hull City have gone 10 games without a win and both are in desperate form going into the Premier League run-in. This is a tremendous opportunity for somebody to break out of their slump and keep the dreaded drop at bay.

  12. Hull's problem is they have only played Championship football from day 1, got good position at start because everyone else had a few problems. The rest of the league got back to form and Hull stayed as they are. They don't deserve to stay up, sorry if that upsets the fans but its true.
