    Time:90'
    • Sunderland
    • Wigan Athletic
    • 90 It's all over! Wigan hold out and claim all three points. Probably deserved in the end. Looked comfortable in the 2nd half and Sunderland offered little in creativity. Good win for the Lactics.
    • 89 Fourth official indicates 3 minutes of injury time to be played, as Valencia flashes an ambitious free kick from an awkward angle well wide.
    • 88 Sbragia urging his troops on but Wigan are playing keep ball by Sunderlands corner flag.
    • 85 It's one Egyptian for another as Wigan throw on Amir Zaki for the ineffective Mido.
    • 83 Swing and a miss! Ball drops to Edwards inside the box, goes for the volley and gets nothing but air. Oh dear...
    • 77 Sunderland going for it now. David Healy on, Ben-Haim off.
    • 72 Another Sunderland goal ruled out. Leadbitter, following a shot from the edge of the area, strayed the wrong side of the line.
    • 70 Free kick needlessly given away by Murphy in a good position for Wigan on the edge of the Black Cats box, and Watson nearly curls it inside the post. Fulop was at full stretch down low, and makes a good save.
    • 68 Long ball nearly breaks kindly for Whitehead as he charges into the box, but it just runs too long and Kirkland pounces on it.
    • 67 Scharner gets the sand wedge out and lofts a high 'effort' well over the bar from the edge of Sunderlands box.
    • 61 That's Malbranque's last involvment. Carlos Edwards is on in his place. Malbranque has been one of Sbragia's better performers today. Good shif from the noble Steed.
    • 60` Malbranque has the ball in the net, but it's ruled out for offside and rightly so.
    • 59` Sunderland change: Andy Reid off, Daryl Murphy on. Reid should of had a goal.
    • 56` BIG CHANCE for Wigan to give themselves breathing space. Scharner put on the left hand side of the area after Sunderland claim offside. One-on-one, shoots at good height, but still well stopped by Fulop.
    • 55` Very bitty at the moment. both sides struggling to put together any prolonged pressure.
    • 47` Brown booked for challenge on Malbranque
    • 46` We're off! Sunderland kicking left to right
    • 46` Teams are back on the pitch for the start of the second half. No changes as of yet...
    • 45` It's half time, and Sunderland trail 2-1 thanks to goals either side of their own from Ben Watson and Charles N'Zogbia. Grant Leadbitter got their goal in the middle. Wiagn maybe fortunate to be in front, but two good finishes are the difference at the break.
    • 45` GOAL!! No sooner have Sunderland got themselves level, Charles N'Zogbia has put The Lactics back in front! Ball is cleared out of Wigan's box, and N'zogbia picks the ball up on the half-way line, breaks away from his marker Collins and slots inside the near post. Great run! Calm finish.
    • 39` GOAL! Black Cats back in it! A hoof upfield from Fulop, and Jones flicks on. The ball eventually falls to Leadbitter who shoots straight down the throat of Kirkland who somehow lets it through.
    • 37` Again Cisse flashes wide. This time he drills a low effort just wide of the near post after being played through by Leadbitter. Difficult angle.
    • 34` The Wearsiders are pressing, but Kirkland looks to be in good form
    • 33` Just over half an hour gone and Wigan still lead thanks to Watson's strike.
    • 29` Cisse picks the ball up on the left, drives inside and hammers a low shot from 18-yards straight at Kirkland who gathers at the second attempt.
    • 27` Valencia picks the ball up in his own half, drives at the Sunderland back-line and gets all the way into the box before dragging his shot just wide. Good run.
    • 25` Shouts for a back pass from Wigan, as Danny Collins defends a long punt upfield from Kirkland and the ball seems to bounce off the defenders shin straight into the arms of Marton Fulop.
    • 20` Easy claim for Kirkland, catching Reid's lofty corner kick
    • 17 SUPERB double save from Kirkland as Sunderland rally! Malbranque strikes the first shot from 25-yards which the keeper palms into the path of And Reid, and springs back up to deny Reid with the follow-up.
    • 12` GOAL! Ben Watson scores his first goal for the club. Ball bouncing around on the edge of the area and Watson half-volleys a bobbling shot into the bottom corner. 1-0 Wigan against the run of play.
    • 7` Resulting corner wasted. Andy Reid clips a ball into the box after short corner, but Kirkland gobbles it up.
    • 6' Cisse finds some space on the edge of the box but blazes wildly high and wide!
    • 3' Some early Wigan pressure, and Wigan win a corner but it's well cleared.
    • 1' We're underway at the Stadium of Light and it's Sunderland to kick-off from right to left.
