    • 90+3' There's the final whistle, and White Hart Lane breathes a giant sigh of relief. Tottenham have won 2-1 here to keep themselves in the running for the final European place.
    • 90+1' It's all hands on deck int he Spurs defence now as City throw forward everything they've got - including Shey Given for this corner!
    • 88' Zabaleta swings the second corner in a lot deeper... it's flicked on to Benjani at the far post...but he heads over unmarked from point blank range!!! Spurs almost saw their lead disappear once again right there. To be fair, Benjani had very little time to react, but he should still have done better.
    • 86' Predictably, City are throwing everyone forward in the dearch for an equaliser...and almost immediately they have a corner. The first one is cleared behind for another corner.
    • 85' Robbie Keane steps up...GOAL!!!! He trots up to the ball nonchalantly before sending Given the wrong way! Cool as anything.
    • 85' Penalty to Spurs!! Micah Richards is penalised for pulling the shirt of Fraizer Campbell!
    • 79' Modric tip-toes his way into the penalty area and lets fly with his right foot...but his shot flashes across the face of goal.
    • 77' Zabaleta puts a dangerous cross into the Spurs are. Komapany gets himself underneath it...but his header is a poor one. It almost went backwards.
    • 74' That wil be Pavlyuchenko's last touch of the match. He is now being replaced by Fraizer Campbell.
    • 68' What a miss from Pavlyuchenko! He ghosts behind the City defence to meet a cross from the right, but can only firect the ball wide of the post.
    • 65' Spurs go straight down the other end. They're attacking through Assou-Ekotto on the left hand side. He lofts a high ball over to Pavlyuchenko at the far post...but the Russian shins his volley straight into the advertising hoardings.
    • 64' City have made a much better start to the second half, and now they're level. Spurs will be rueing those missed chances of the first half.
    • 63' City have equalised!!! It's Valeri Bojinov! The ball fell to him in the area, and his left foot volley found the top corner. Superb build up play from Ireland and Benjani.
    • 61' Benjani is on for Caicedo too as Mark Hughes reshuffles his front line.
    • 59' City are about to make their second change fo the match. Martin Petrov is being repalced by Valeri Bojinov.
    • 56' Jenas finds himself in space 25 yards out for Spurs...he lines up a long range shot...but scuffs it wide of the target. Not one of his best efforts.
    • 52' This is a much better start to the second half from City. Petrov has just won them another corner. They have enough height in their team to trouble Spurs' rear guard. Richrds, Dunne and Kompany are all dangerous in the air.
    • 49' Another lightning quick break from City...Caicedo looks to work himself an opportunity...but it's out for a corner.
    • 47' Good news for both these teams here: Everton have just gone 2-1 up against West Ham United.
    • 46' City get the second half underway.
    • 46' One of the linesman has been replaced too.
    • 46' Spurs make one switch at half-time. Alan Hutton is on for Jonathan Woodgate.
    • 45' There's the half-time whistle. Spurs lead 1-0 through Jermain Defoe's goal on the half-hour mark.
    • 43' Huddlestone steps up...but that's an easy take for Given.
    • 42' Free-kick now in a decent position for Spurs after Zabaleta chops down Assou-Ekotto. Zabaleta is booked for that challenge.
    • 39' Assou-Ekotto has picked up a knock, though by the looks of it he should be able to carry on.
    • 36' An excellent spell this from Tottenham. City are bringing on Zabaleta for Elano, who appears to have a problem with his eye.
    • 32' Assou Ekotto now fizzes a dangerous ball across the box...Keane tries to bring it down inside the area, but the ball jsut gets away from him, and it's out for a goal kick.
    • 31' Manchester City are appealing for offside, but it is not given. The goal stands.
    • 30' Jenas spreads the ball wide to Huddlestone on the right wing, he fires a low ball into the near post...and Jermain Defoe puts Spurs ahead!!! He burst in ahead of Richard Dunne to be first to the ball, and got his reward.
    • 24' Somewhat scrappy stuff from both teams over the last two minutes, though Corluka now goes past his man and bombs into the box on the right flank...he pulls is back for Defoe...but Kompany is on hand to clear!
    • 21' A real chacne for Petrov. Spurs were let off the hook there.
    • 20' Free-kick for Spurs in the City half, but the delivery is awful and City break quickly. It's played forward to Caicedo, who holds it up well and plays in Martin Petrov, he cuts inside onto his right foot and shoots...but the shot is a tame one and Gomes saves!
    • 17' Ireland and Elano are constantly on the look out to release Caicedo in behind the Spurs line, but so far Gomes has always been alive to the threat of the big Ecuadorian, and has raced out to claim all balls played in behind the defence.
    • 14' Another fine save from Given, this time to push way a well-struck low shot from Roman Pavlyuchenko. That one was headed for the bottom corner.
    • 12' Jenas strides forward, City are giving him far too much space...he strikes one...and Onuoha finally comes forward to make an important block on the edge of the area.
    • 9' Jenas dinks a little through ball for Modric, but the Croat can't quite get himself onto the end of that, and it rund out for a goal-kick.
    • 4' Fine save from Shay Given low to his left to deny Jermain Defoe. Spurs are on the attack in the opening stages.
    • 3' Jermain Defoe has the ball in the back of the net!!! But the linesman's flag is up! It won't count, Defoe was offside when Keane cut in from the right wing.
    • 1 Spurs get the first half underway.
    • 14:58 Glorious, sunny day in North London, and a perfect surface for some nice football.
    • 14:50 Robinho is out injured for Manchester City, so Stephen Ireland, Martin Petrov and Elano all starting in their favoured attacking midfield roles. Caicedo will play on his own ion attack, while Vincent Kompany and Nigel de Jong anchor the midfield.
    • 14:50 Spurs have won eight of their last nine Premier League games against the Citizens. City have managed only three goals in their last eight Premier League road trips.
    • 14:50 Manchester City have averaged 2.00 goals per game in the six matches in which Robinho has not played. The Brzilian is ruled out through injury this afternoon.
    • 14:49 For the last four seasons at White Hart Lane this fixture has ended 2-1 to Tottenham. Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane - who both play today - have two goals apiece in those four games.
    • 14:45 A big clash this in the fight for the final UEFA Cup spot. Fulham are in pole position to capture that final 7th place, though they have to travel to Newcastle today, and should they slip up, the winner of this game would go above them.

  3. P:S My quote "City suck" is aimed at the amount of money spent. Look where you're in the EPL. Enough said. I could've put it another way. City aren't what they're cracked up to be. They have spent so much money yet struggle to be a mid-table team. I'm not saying Spurs are better (although Spurs have beat City twice this year) I'm saying that with all the money City have they haven't exactly pulled anything amazing off. Lets see next season. Perhaps Spurs and City will start to compete against the "top 4" I hope so as it will make the sport more exciting.

  5. I'm NO THUG man. I simply enjoy winding people up for the fun of it here. It's not a reflection on my life and or what I do with it. For you to start with all this and that is purely arrogance on your part. If you read most of my posts then you'd see I'm actually quite constructive. So lose your attitude. Go and be sick if that's what you really think I do to you. YOU sum up most people in this World with your narrow minded argument that I think is unjustified.

Look out-side your local pub wife kids car and dog dude. REALLY.

Now lets stop this pointless argument.

  8. So what makes you so english? Being a football thug? Enciting team rivalry and hatred? Steve is right (and coming from a true sports fan by the sounds). Does it make a proper english sport if theres an unfriendly attitude towards it.
I was in a Manchester City centre pub with my partner and children for Derby day, and it was Red and Blue fans together, drinking, no trouble. Would it have made it better for you if it had kicked off between the fans and children were in the middle? Over a game of football? A Game?
Now your coming across as though its only a sport if theres a police cordon between fans. Im not telling you what you can and cant say, and your right, it is a free forum, but its people like you who ruin an English game for the likes of myself Steve and many other fans out there.
You dont offend me Lee, your attitude makes me sick, even your own Tottenham supporters are saying the same.
How old do you have to be people before you grow out of that? Or do you grow into it?
Not soft pal, and certainly never grew up wrapped in cotton wool.

  9. Besides. Who the F do you think you're saying how and what I can say. It's a free forum - I say what I choose to. If it oofends you that's not my fault. I can't help if you've grown up with a blanket around you. Soft is what you're SOFT.

  11. How pathetic the way people slag each others teams of!!! Fair enough in fun but some of this stuff is childish, brainless rubbish... Football used to be a SPORT where each week the same players played for their club for pride year after year, now we're lucky if the manager and players are the same by the January transfer... As a Spurs fan all my life I say with many others, "Unlucky City." Lets hope and pray we're both knocking the others off the top spots next season and sport once again becomes the winner!!! :)

  12. AS a spurs fan u cant go slagging city off they r and will be a good side . that game could of gone either way and the penalty was a little harsh on them, still a good win 4 the yids and im not worried about europe im chuffed to have finished where we did coys

  13. Im not talking about living in London, with all it's "greatness". That is exactly my point, your arrogance, and as for your childishness "City Suck" and "get a life", come on?
I have a life, if I didnt I would spend my time slagging off every opposing team City played, and banging on about how "great" we are. No matter what I say, you will always be the same, loving abit of playground team rivalry,
Im guessing you wouldnt open your mouth to offend a football team in italy, because no doubt theyd take you down a peg or two.
Regardless of a clubs money, it all depends on the teamwork, and as for winning and losing, it could go either way, a 50/50 chance.
Seriously, start thinking before you type. Moron
