  • Live Commentary

    Time:90'
    • West Ham
    • West Bromwich
    • 90' The final whistle blows and we end goalless. It was far from a vintage encounter to say the least, but West Brom will travel back knowing this was a game they should have won. West Ham were poor. Thanks for joining me!
    • 88' Morrison is replaced by Felipe Teixeira, who has about two minutes to influence this match.
    • 85' Stanislas has been impressive so far. He sends over a lovely cross from the left and Robinson is forced to chest the ball behind for a corner.
    • 83' Olsson is the second name in the referee's book after a blatant foul.
    • 81' Zola plays his final card. Luis Boa Morte enters the fray at the expense of Noble.
    • 79' West Brom make a double change. Fortune and Brunt make way for Luke Moore and Jay Simpson.
    • 75' Stanislas with a ball in from the left and DI MICHELE'S DOWNWARD HEADER IS JUST WIDE!!
    • 71' WHAT A CHANCE FOR GREENING!! He drives into the West Ham box, commits Green, but chips his shot over bar.
    • 68' The booking proves to be Savio's last contribution. In his place comes Junior Stanislas, making his West Ham debut.
    • 67' Savio goes in the book a cynical trip. That's the first card of the night.
    • 63' The West Ham fans are growing a touch frustrated at Upton Park. Their side have struggled to keep the ball this half and West Brom are bossing this match.
    • 59' Savio tries his luck for West Ham, cutting inside and unleashing a wild drive that does not trouble Carson.
    • 54' Brunt whips over another corking cross from the left, but this time West Ham clear.
    • 49' WEST BROM HIT THE BAR!!! Chris Brunt sends over a fine deep cross from the left and MARTIS LEAPS HIGHEST, BUT HIS HEADER CRASHES AGAINST THE WOODWORK!!
    • 46' The second half is underway at Upton Park. No changes to report. Upson's injury is apparently not serious, which is good news.
    • 45' The half-time whistle sounds and there will be no question which manager is happier. Tony Mobray's West Brom have shaded the first half and looked full of confidence. Gianfranco Zola needs to get his thinking cap on.
    • 41' West Brom are belying their lowly status thus far. It's been an open game and both sides are attacking at every opportunity.
    • 34' Sears bursts down the left but his shot is deflected and loops behind for a corner...Lucas Neill has a free header but he can't find the target from the 15 yards.
    • 29' Matthew Upson is in some discomfort and is forced to leave the field for West Ham - more on that to follow. Jonathan Spector replaces him.
    • 27' Lovely run from James Morrison. The West Ham defence parts like the Red Sea and he finds himself one on one with Robert Green...Morrison shoots left-footed, but Green spreads himself and makes the save. West Brom are on top here.
    • 22' West Ham have had plenty of possession, but the home side have yet to create a clear-cut opening.
    • 18' Greeing with a lovely first-time ball to play in Marc-Antoine Fortune, who fires into the side-netting from 12 yards.
    • 14' Savio gets his first chance to spring down the left touchline. He wins a corner...Mark Noble swings it in, but Scott Carson punches clear convincingly.
    • 9' West Brom start to settle. Robert Koren finds Gianni Zuiverloon with a raking cross-field pass, but the full-back loses control as he reaches the byline.
    • 5' Bright start from West Ham, but it's been a scrappy opening five minutes. Neither side can keep hold of the ball.
    • 1' Away we go in East London. It's a clear night and the pitch looks in immaculate condition. West Ham are naturally in claret and blue, with visitors West Brom in yellow shirts and black shorts.
    • - TEAM NEWS: Teenager Freddie Sears starts up top for West Ham alongside David Di Michele. Carlton Cole is suspended. Savio Nsereko will start in midfield. For West Brom, an unfamiliar defensive pairing of Shelton Martis and Jonas Olsson are tasked with keeping the Hammers at bay.

  7. Watched this game as a neutral wish I had not have bothered, West Hams passing was atrocious, couldn't pass a simple ball gave away possesion away far too cheaply, seemed to want to pass the ball back to Green none stop, I think eh had more touches than their whole team put together! and they continued to try and pass through the middle of West Broms box, when teams set out to pla 8-1-1 style you ain't gonna get through a ruck of players trying to thread through the eye of a needle through the middle, you have to use both channels, worst game of football ive seen all season.

  8. Absolute C-R-A-P from West Ham!! Can't believe I wasted 2hrs of my life watching this poor excuse of a football game. I've seen better in the Championship! West Ham is 7th?!! Unbelievable!!

  9. Can somebody tell me the point of Kovac. I dont think I have ever seen such an inept display from a player. After an hour it became clear that none of his team mates wanted to pass to him.
