    • 90+3 And that is the whistle! Wigan win! Only their second at home this season and their first-ever against Everton at the JJB! They are out of the bottom three.
    • 90+1 High ball into the box from Lescott, it causes havoc as it drops to Cahill, Yakubu can get on it but it ricochets back to Cahill WHO MUST SCORE BUT HE SOMEHOW FIRES OVER! A terrible miss and he's on the deck with his head in his hands! If anyone was going to score that, a late winner against the run of play, it was Cahill.

    • 87' Everton are frustrated and frustrating. The lack of bite in midfield has been a problem: Wigan have five in there and Everton have only Fellaini as a physical presence. As a result the Toffees have had to look long and it just ain't working.

    • 45+1 Cattermole on the ball 35 yards out, Heskey's wide for him but Cattermole goes on a mazy run, beats one man, then another, slips past two more AND HE PLACES IT TO THE BOTTOM RIGHT BUT A SUPERB SAVE FROM HOWARD! Corner. Great move.
    • 45' Cahill on the left but the cross is easy for Figueroa to head clear. Wigan break through Palacios as we enter one minute of added time.
    • 43' Arteta tries a shot when he should have crossed it. Straight into Kirkland's arms. Poor.
    • 42' Yakubu turns away from the defender but the touch is heavy. He wins a free-kick though, about 30 yards out...
    • 39' Diagonal ball aimed at Heskey is just too long for him but Kapo sneaks in and Howard has to come out and claim fractionally before him!
    • 38' Fellaini almost gets a chance to finish from six yards but Figueroa puts his body on the line to block the shot. Everton wake from their slumber as Neville comes down the right but sees his low cross blocked by Scharner.

    • 26' This match is quite even given the discrepancy in league position between the two sides. Wigan are now starting to control the match with Everton seeming a bit light in the middle of the park.

    • 20' Taylor sends a great curling shot that beats Howard and flies just over! He got some serious bend and dip on that free-kick.

    • 9' The ball has spent an unattractive amount of time in the air for the past few minutes. Which, in a way, suits Wigan.
