    • 90' Full time and it's 0-0. Given is the star man with his penalty save.

    • 90' The ball almost drops to Phillips six yards out, but Kompany is just able to stick out a toe and ut him off.
    • 90' SWP forces a corner as the fourth official shows six added minutes.
    • 88' Blues throw on Kevin Phillips for Jerome with two minutes plus stoppages remaining.

    • 79' Ten minutes left and can we get a winner? MATCH GALLERY
    • 78' Good defending from Lescott who shepherds the ball back to Given with Benitez in close pursuit.
    • 76' City force a corner following a sloppy bit of Blues play. Will they be made to pay?
    • 69' Excellent run and cross from Bowyer, the ball is between the defender and the keeepr but Jerome does not do enough to get in and City let the ball run through the area.
    • 67' BANG! Tevez collects a throw-in, cuts on to his right foot and lashes a shot that Taylor pushes over the bar. He gave it an almighty crack.
    • 66' Santa Cruz is off and replaced by Petrov. Bellamy will go up top with Tevez now.
    • 63' Santa Cruz is booked for a foul. He's not had the best day so far. Saying that, he'll probably go and score!
    • 62' CHANCE! Bowyer whips in a glorious cross for Jerome at the back post, he makes good contact with his header but it flies a foot wide.
    • 61' McFadden's day ends as he is replaced by Fahey.
    • 60' De Jong is off and replaced by Ireland. That's a bit more attacking from City.
    • 60' City break at pace, Tevez slips in SWP and he fizzes a cross in that Johnson does well to smuggle to safety.
    • 57' McFadden picks up a caution for a trip. He has steam coming out of his ears now.
    • 57' SAVE! Amazing stuff from Given, he plunges to his left and pushes McFadden's decent looking penalty to safety.
    • 56' PENALTY! De Jong jumps for a challenge, the ball hits his arm and Dean has no hesitation in pointnig to the spot.
    • 55' Wayne Bridge makes his way into the book for kicking the ball away.
    • 52' Given collects a ball into the box and sets his side on the attack, Zabaleta crosses but an excellent defnsive header from Dann clears the danger.
    • 50' The start to the second has been a little subdued in relation to the first. Tevez attempts to change things with a shot from distance, but it flies well over the top.
    • 46' Lescott takes a real chance, as he dallies over a bouncing ball which almost lets Benitez in but Given is able to gather just in time.
    • 46' City get us back underway.
    • - The players are back out and will Mark Hughes make changes?
    • 45' Half time and it's 0-0 after an entertaining 45 minutes.
    • 45' An awful free kick from Barry, high into the stands. He's not had the best half of football.
    • 45' Tevez is too quick for Dann who commits the foul and is booked.
    • 43' WHAT A SAVE! Blues attack at pace again, snapping into tackles and the ball falls to Bowyer who shoots crisply and Given dives to make the save. The keeper shows great reactions to get up and gather the second ball.
    • 41' Nigel de Jong pulls down Larsson and gets a talking to from Dean. He promptly clears his throat, seemingly not following the swine flu directives of not spitting on the pich!
    • 37' Bellamy shoots from a free kick from all of 35 yards out, he gets the bird as the effort is scuffed into the ground and wide.
    • 34' Incisive plasy from Blues, Larsson dashes in from the right and Bowyer spots the run but the pass is just a fraction of an inch too heavy.
    • 32' Tevez tries his luck from 25 yards, but his luck is out as the effort flies well wide.
    • 30' Danger: A great run from SWP, he is able to flick the ball into the path of Santa Cruz but Taylor gets off his line to smother.
    • 29' Barry Ferguson is first into the book for a foul on Bellamy.
    • 27' Great play from the boy McFadden who lets fly from 25 yards and it forces a sharp save from Given.
    • 22' City work the ball from right to left, Bellamy goes for the curler but his effort is deflected wide. It certainly needed that as it was going in.
    • 19' City are just coming into this, SWP fires a fizzing shot that is too hot for Taylor to handle but he is aided as Carr clears the rebound in front of Santa Cruz.
    • 14' CHANCE! Bellamy plays the ball to Tevez and races forward in search of a return. It came his way and he has a sight of goal but Taylor pushes the effort wide.
    • 13' City's first sight of goal as SWP whips in a cross for Santa Crux, he fashions a yard of space but his header goes well wide.
    • 11' CHANCE! Jerome wins a loose ball and the ball breaks to Benitez, he drives into the box but looks short of confidence as he lines up the effort and Given makes an easier save than it should have been.
    • 9' POST! Brilliant save from Given. Mike Dean plays a good advantage as the ball falls to Benitez. He drives forward and shoots on goal from 20 yards. Given dives to his left and pushes the ball on to the post.
    • 8' A fantastic jinking run from Wright-Phillips who seeks out Santa Cruz but Carr tucks in from right back to snuff out the danger.
    • 7' CHANCE! Ferguson snaps into a tackle and nicks the ball off Barry, he drives into the box and drags his shot just wide. A bright start from Blues.
    • 6' Maik Taylor's first touch in the Premier League this season is a dodgy one, slicing a clearance into touch.
    • 4' Alert defending from Dann, as a loose ball threatens to run to Santa Cruz but the defender slides in to clear.
    • 3' A long ball down the left releases Benitez, he has Lescott one-on-one but opts to cross rather than take on the defender and the ball goes straight to Given. He had a chance to go at teh defender.
    • 2' Tevez is ni the wars early, he's taken a knock in the face but seems okay.
    • 1' Birmingham get the game underway.
    • - The players are out on the field and we will soon be underway.
    • - This has come from hal_harrigan - Mcfadden first is going to volley in a chip from Jerome and then score from the penalty spot. Tevez is going to get lucky and score on a mistake from Taylor also Lescott will get a straight red in the 51 min and Ridgewell will get a red in the 13 min. Given will also get sent off in the 90+3 min and give Mcfadden the shot from the penalty spot - If this comes off i'll give you the money myself!
    • - Too many people put the boot into Scottish football, so i'm going to stick my neck out and say i like James McFadden. Decent player. Cue a shocking display!
    • - With no Adebayor, who is going to be the goal threat for City? You've got to think Santa Cruz needs to step up, as Tevez is not exactly a regular getter of goals.
    • - This is a tough one to call, as City will be well fancied to improve their chances of pushing on towards the Champions League places but Blues will be tough nuts on home turf.
    • - Let's just get things clear at this early stage, when i refer to 'City' it will be Manchester City. 'Blues' will be Birmingham City. Thanks for letting me clear that up.
    • - Santa Cruz and Tevez will lead the line for Mark Hughes's men.
    • - Man City: Given, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Bridge, Wright-Phillips, De Jong, Barry, Bellamy, Santa Cruz, Tevez Subs: Taylor, Richards, Johnson, Ireland, Sylvinho, Petrov, Weiss Referee: Mike Dean (Wirral)
    • - Birmingham: Maik Taylor, Carr, Roger Johnson, Dann, Ridgewell, Larsson, Ferguson, Bowyer, McFadden, Jerome, Benitez Subs: Doyle, Phillips, Fahey, McSheffrey, Parnaby, Carsley, Vignal
    • - The Blues' 2-1 win last weekend against Sunderland was the first time they had scored more than one goal in a league game this season

    • - Birmingham are the only side in the Premier League yet to score before the half-hour mark.

  4. Hughes has still work to do especially in selection and balance of the team, Richards has to be in, he could have played him at CB last night instead of Kompany or at RB instead of Zabellata, the best midfield player (Ireland) in the country last season has spent all this season on the bench, what is the story is he trying to keep his expensive signings happy and has he not noticed how powerful young Johnson looks and is playing at the moment when he gets on and RSC should never have been bought, we have enough quality front men with Bellamy, Ade, Robinho and Tevez as well as 2 excellent wide men in SWP and Petrov. the best balanced team right now for City in my opinion is Given: Richards, Toure, Lescott, Bridge: SWP, Ireland, Johnson, Barry: Adebayour and Bellamy: if Robinho is fit and wants to play?? he challenges along with Tevez for up front and Kompany, De Jong, Petrov and Oanhou make up the rest of the bench. we let Sturridge, Corulka and Evans go, who were not given the chance to develop and would have saved over 50 million in outlay on Lescott and Tevez who are no better than those players and who were much younger and potentially great team players.

  5. dazmanutd: Only the most deluded City fan would think that money will buy trophies. It'll take time. I'm quite happy with how things are going so far, but after more than 30 years of winning bugger-all, I can afford to be patient. I realise that nothing would make you happier than to see all the money come to nothing. Tevez is a great player though...have to disagree with you there. And certainly SAF must have thought so, to offer 30+ million for him before he signed for City (although very weirdly, he then later claimed that Tevez wasn't worth the money City paid, even though United had offered more! He must have been at the whiskey a bit too much that day.) Yes, four draws in a row, but three of them were away from home and I'm delighted with a point from those games. You're right, that's not Premier League winners form, but as we've already seen this season, all of the potential Premier League winners have dropped points against anyone's expectations. Remember Burnley? City have lost fewer games than any other team, only losing to an injury time goal from you lot. And United have been far from convincing too. City won't win the Premier League, but they will be in the top six and that's a great start in my eyes.

Everyone wants to watch how them and c how they are doing with all these big names. 4th in the table with a game less than most teams is pretty impressive. Give them a year so they can get used to each other. They are building towards something special and everyone knows its not gona happen overnight. They will still make champions league cuz liverpool will not make it. Enough said!!
