    • 90+5 A promising move for Stoke comes to an end when Beattie plays a horrible ball wide that goes out for a throw when Whelan could have been in.
    • 90+4 Another long throw on the left that Delap will take but Knight rises to head clear.
    • 90+3 Delap hurls it near post and Shawcross gets up with the flick and in flies Lawrence but what a brave stop from Jaaskelainen who cops one in the head for his efforts.

    • 31' Good defending by Whitehead back at left-back and he brings it forward as Kitson bustles down the left, inside to Fuller who cuts past Cohen, drawing a foul and winning a free-kick 30 yards out.
    • 29' A classic period of Bolton-Stoke head tennis concludes when it drops to Cohen, whose weak shot trickles wide. That was a poor spell, a long ball weakly punched by Sorensen, Davies clearly fouling Shawcross trying to knock McCann's cross on and Cohen with a bad effort on goal.
    • 27' Cahill walks off to regain his senses while Fuller is still getting treatment on the ground. They both come back on.
    • 26' Fuller is down clutching his head after a challenge with Cahill deep in the Bolton half. There was nothing untoward about that, just a clash of heads which the Jamaican felt more.

    • 22' Davies wins a free-kick off Faye who puts his arm into the back of his head, hardly even-stevens though as Davies got away with his, which caused the more damage.
    • 21' Good play by Wigan as Cohen comes forward and knocks a central, highish ball to Davies who flicks it on for Steinsson who has got forward but his acrobatic volley flies well over.
    • 20' Bolton still have it though, a throw the right which is taken quickly and Cohen whips in a dipping cross and Cahill with the header but it comes off the top of his bonce and goes over.
    • 19' Bolton are forward now, camped on the edge of the Stoke box but the passing move breaks down when McCann puts his cross straight down the throat of Peter Phillips look-a-like Thomas Sorensen.
    • 18' Kitson floats a lovely ball in for Fuller, who takes it well and looks wide to Etherington, whose cross is decent but flicked away by Cahill at the far post.
    • 16' Free-kick to Bolton on the right, it flies into Davies with his back to goal but he backs into his marker and Stoke gave a free-kick. Will be interesting to see the Davies-Faye battle develop. My money's on Davies as Faye just cannot afford to be reckless in his own area.
    • 15' Davies knew what he was doing there - I have seen people sent off for far less. He is lucky, although looking at the size of Faye he may want to reconsider trying to rough him up. Expect some form of pole-axing later.
    • 14' Long from Jaaskelainen, Faye goes down holding his head on the edge of his own box after getting a forearm in the face from, yup, Kevin Davies.
    • 13' Fuller is called up for a foul when trying to win an aerial ball deep in the Bolton half.
    • 12' Late challenge from Davies on Huth, Davies is the most penalised player in this league and easy to see why - he commits to everything.
    • 11' Delap gets forward and has a crack from the edge of the box but well over.
    • 10' A bit bitty it is now, as Davies fouls Faye giving Sunderland a free-kick deep in their own half.
    • 8' Bolton with a lucky escape then. Cohen wins a free-kick deep in his own half, which Jaaskelainen pumps long. Comes off a white shirt though, Cohen again, and Stoke have a throw.
    • 7' Fuller gets the ball on the right in the area, he cuts it past McCann who trips him and a penalty! No! A dive says the ref, who books a stunned Fuller. That looked like McCann left his leg in to me, and the replay confirms it. The only thing Fuller did wrong was perhaps exaggerate his fall but that was a penalty, all day.
    • 6' Corner to Stoke on the left which Whelan will take. Bolton clear though, with the likes of Knight and Cahill they are pretty fierce in the air.
    • 5' Bolton howl for a penalty as Samuel's cross brushes the arm of Shawcross but I don't think it touched him.
    • 4' Bolton have a free-kick on the right but cleared by Huth. Stoke must be the biggest team on the planet, Whitehead and Whelan aside they're all nine-foot-eight or something.
