    • 1' Chelsea kick off to get the 2009-10 season underway!
    • - Before kick off, there will be a minute's applause for the late great Sir Bobby Robson. The fact that these tributes are still being held now - even at the home of his former team's local rivals - shows just how loved the former England manager.
    • - We're just a few minutes away from the big kick-off now, so don't go anywhere!
    • - How do you think this one is going to go? Can you really see any way for Hull to get a result? Chelsea are traditionally strong starters, while Hull ended last term on an awful run. Any Tigers fans out there keeping the faith? Post your thoughts below!
    • - THE TEAMS ARE IN! As expected, Chelsea field a very strong looking line-up, while Hull are handed full debuts to Stephen Hunt, Steven Mouyokolo and Seyi Olofinjana. Caleb Folan is up front and Jozy Altidore is not even in the squad.
    • - Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Mikel, Essien, Malouda, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba. Subs: Turnbull, Ivanovic, Ballack, Kalou, Deco, Sturridge, Hutchinson
    • - Hull: Myhill, Mendy, Turner, Gardner, Dawson, Marney, Olofinjana, Mouyokolo, Boateng, Hunt, Folan. Subs: Duke, Barmby, Geovanni, Halmosi, Ghilas, Zayatte, Cousin
    • - VIDEO: Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti outlines his goals for the season ahead of the season-opening clash with Hull at Stamford Bridge. Watch it here.
    • - We're still waiting for the teams, so here's an update on the who's in and out for this one. All the weekend's team news is here.
    • - CHELSEA TEAM NEWS: Chelsea are without Russian winger Zhirkov (knee) and recuperating long-term knee-injury victims Joe Cole and Paulo Ferreira. Alex (groin) and Juliano Belletti (Achilles) are also out. Striker Daniel Sturridge is set to make his debut from the bench after signing from Manchester City, as could back-up keeper Ross Turnbull - who joined from Middlesbrough - should anything happen to Petr Cech.
    • - HULL TEAM NEWS: Matt Duke is expected to get the nod over Tony Warner in goal for the Tigers with regular keeper Boaz Myhill struggling with a thumb injury. Richard Garcia, Jimmy Bullard and Ian Ashbee have knee injuries while Craig Fagan has a groin strain. Stephen Hunt, Jozy Altidore, Seyi Olofinjana and Kamel Ghilas are all set to be handed debuts.

    • - The Tigers have scored just four goals in their last nine league games.
    • - By stark contrast, Hull picked up just three points from their last 10 games (all from draws) but still avoided relegation. That joy for Tigers fans was tempered by Phil Brown's impromptu singalong, however.
    • - Under Guus Hiddink, they won seven and drew one of their last eight games in 2008-09.
    • - The Blues are looking for a record eighth successive opening day win in the Premier League.
