    • 84' A corner from United is flashed across goal, Valencia returns it with interest and it goes just wide.
    • 81' It's all getting a bit testy. Carvalho is bundled over by Evans and is left in a heap. A melee ensues and the outcome is a yellow card for Carvalho and a yellow for Evans.
    • 77' Rooney charges after the ref, along with a number of United players, and picks up a booking.
    • 76' GOAL CHELSEA! Fletcher gives away a cheap free kick, Lampard whips it in and Terry heads home from eight yards. United are furious, Chelsea are delirious.
    • 72' Giggs scuffs a pass towards Rooney but the striker almost makes something of it by dashing in towards Cech. The keeper gets there first but Rooney is rampant at the moment.
    • 68' CLOSE AGAIN! And it's Rooney again. He takes the shot early from 25 yards and almost catches Cech out, but the keeper gets across to parry.
    • 67' CLOSE! Rooney exchanges passes with Valencia, he makes crisp contact but it flies inches wide of target. That's the closest we've come to a goal.
    • 66' Incisive play from Chelsea and Ashley Cole takes the ball in an advanced position but his shot is easily saved by VDS.
    • 63' Chelsea roll the dice and it's Joe Cole on for Deco. Can he have more of an impact then the Portuguese?

    • 55' Chelsea win a free kick in a dangerous area but Drogba fires his effort into the wall. That sums up his afternoon so far.
    • 51' Sublime to the ridiculous from Drogba. He pulls a clearance from Cech down in and instant and sizes up his shot, but curls the effort wide from 20 yards.
    • 48' United threaten again Giggs has space when collecting a pass from Ronney but is in two minds and dinks the effort wide of target.
    • 47' A good chance for United. Evra flashes a cross into Rooney who is aware of everything around him as he drops the ball into the path of Fletcher but he shoots well over.
    • 46' The second half is underway again.
    • 45' Half time and it's all square between the two heavyweights.
    • 45' Drogba rolls his marker and has a great chance to play Ivanovic in but he goes for goal from a near-impossible angle and it goes wide.
    • 43' United work an opening for Carrick who fires from 25 yards but it sails over the top.
    • 39' Terry clatters into his own player and is left in a real heap on the ground. Chelsea don't put the ball out as they are on the attack, but the ref stops play when United win possession. Fergie is not happy, but he never really is though.
    • 36' Carrick drives forward and shoots from 30 yards but the effort is scuffed and goes wide.
    • 35' A good chance for United as Rooney drives across field, drops the ball into the path of Giggs who looks to keep the ball moving on to Anderson but the pace of the pass is poor.
    • 32' SAVE! Anelka cuts in from the right and curls the ball towards the far corner. VDS dives to his right to make the save.
    • 30' Half an hour gone and although we've had a few bright moments we've not had any real chances. This game needs a spark. A wild tackle from Rooney? He might not do that any more now that he's a dad with responsibilities.
    • 29' Giggs makes a great run and goes for an audacious dink over Cech on the volley but he gets it wrong and the shot goes wide. Great movement from Giggs.
    • 28' Anelka teases Evra before letting fly with a low drive from which Van der Sar gathers cleanly.
    • 25' Essien shows his class with a surging run from midfield, Drogba gets in a barging match with Brown and the referee gives United a very cheap free kick.
    • 24' Chelsea win a free kick in a dangerous position but Lampard puts too much pace on the cross and it goes well wide.
    • 22' United spring forward at pace after stealing possession, Rooney drives at Terry but the defender has his measure. Great work from Terry.
    • 20' Valencia lets fly from 20 yards and it goes well over and he should really have slipped in O'Shea who had gallopped forward from right back.
    • 17' Chelsea look to have settled in well and a chance is fashioned for Drogba as he gets in between Brown and Evans to meet Ballack's ball but he cannot direct the effort on target.
    • 15' Some uncharacteristically sloppy defending from United, Drogba dinks a cross in and Evans is needed to get a timely header in to clear.
    • 14' PENALTY SHOUT! Ashley Cole is caught in possession and Valencia drives at Terry, the England skipper looks in bother and takes a chuck of the shirt. The appeals are waved away but it looked like a penalty.
    • 11' Bright play from United, Evra drives down the left and rolls the ball in to Rooney. The new dad turns and gets his shot away but Carvalho is touch tight and gets in his block.
    • 9' Anelka puts on the burners in search of a long ball but Brown matches him for pace.
    • 8' Anderson slips the ball through to Rooney who looks to have beaten teh offside trap, but a flag pulls him back. It looks like Ashley Cole was playing him on. Desperately close.
    • 6' A bright move from Chelsea, Ivanovic gets forward and shoots low on goal. Van der Sar and maybe a cut back to Drogba would have been better.
    • 6' Cagey stuff early on with United knocking the ball around probing for an opening.
    • 3' Deco goes through the gears and tries to slip the ball to Anelka but United are alert to the danger.
    • 1' Lampard makes an early impression by snapping into a tackle on Valencia.
    • 1' United get us underway.
    • - The minute's silence for Remembrance Sunday is observed and we are almost ready for kick off.
    • - The players are making their way out and i do hope it lives up to the hype.
    • - Fletcher's back for United and although he's never going to win any world player of the years awards, he does a job and how he spoils things could have a big say in the outcome.

  2. Obviously I left out the Mancunian supporters of Manchester United as they’ve never been on the wrong end of the British Army stick. But one day they will and then they’ll find out what the army is really for.

Ironically enough but before the days of the Champions Of The World they have. Check out the ‘ Peterloo Massacre ‘ on Wikipedia.

How did I insult your ever oh so precious armed forces? I have no absolutely respect for violence or the people who order it or those who carry it out. I’d protest at the senseless waste of our youth at the poppy ceremony. I’ve been on the end of the British army so I know the reality and what they get up to. More than you. Perished for my freedom? What freedom? I don’t have freedom anymore. I can’t even scratch my aarse in public without big brother knowing about it. This isn’t a freedom I want and it’s definitely not worth losing my life over.

“ Firstly show some respect for the people who died so that you could post the kind of comment you did “ – just how much longer am I going to be able to that then? Tell me that. Go do some research. Know what you are talking about BEFORE you start spouting off. Your head is so far up the media’s aass, you can’t see what’s really going on.

“ secondly show respect for the people who are still dying in some God forsaken hellhole. “ – If you had any respect for the poor frightened fu*kers who are in this terrible position, you’d get off your lazy aarse and do something about it. I have … what have you done about it?

“ Go to the service or even watch it on TV, the high commissioners of all these countries lay wreathes to remember the dead of their country. “ – Oh, do they really? That makes it alright then does it? A nice big fancy ceremony will ease out all the pain of the families of the dead won’t it? What would you want? Your living son or daughter or a nice ceremony and a box? It’s only there to make the perpertrators of this ageless mass murder feel better, to make it look better and muppets like you suck it up. Tony Blair … I suppose he puts one there too while laughing out the other side of his face wondering how he’s got away with being the cause of the slaughter of half a million people.

I’m totally anti-violence in all it’s hideous forms hence the Stevie O Jay atavar.

  6. Stevie O Jay at 1642. You insult the armed forces of this country and then talk utter rubbish about overseas fans of Manchester Utd. Firstly show some respect for the people who died so that you could post the kind of comment you did, secondly show respect for the people who are still dying in some God forsaken hellhole. As to offending overseas fans, you don't think that South Africa, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, Kenya, India etc provided troops who also perished fighting for your freedom? They did and as someone who has lived in Asia and Australia during his working life I can tell you that the poppy and the whole Armistice Day remembrance are as important to them as they are to most sensible people. Go to the service or even watch it on TV, the high commissioners of all these countries lay wreathes to remember the dead of their country. Talk sense or shut up.

The poppy which started out okay as a protest against the slaughter of the First World War has now become some sort of jingoistic recruiting method for the British Army. The poppy is a fraud and if those in power really did give a f*ck for the wellbeing of our youth then we wouldn’t have any army or wars in which to send them to. An army which a little country like ours can no longer afford.

From Stevie O Jay, on Wed 11 Nov 7:20PM
  10. Would it have something to do with the fact that Chelsea are a peripheral player on the world stage and that Manchester United have hundreds of millions of fans worldwide to think about. The poppy is a reminder of the slaughter carried out by the British Army is an offensive insult to the fans in the countries where said slaughters have been carried out i.e.

  11. ……. Welcome back. And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the highlight of our evening. It’s not often that we award this very special accolade possibly only once every ten years. That’s how special it is, but we now have someone worthy to carry the mantle for future winners. This decade’s winner is something of a surprise. Some of you may disagree with our decision, some of you may have your own winner but I can say that the judges were unanimous in their decision. As soon as we saw this young man in action we were all phoning and texting each other, we knew we had a new winner. The previous holder was a legend of our game and I’m sure he’ll be pleased to hand his title to this worthy winner. I’m sure you’ll want to stand and put your hands together because tonight we award The Eric Cantona Prize For Outstanding Martial Arts Performance On The Field Of Play to …… Jonny Evans ….. and here to present the award is the man himself Mr. Eric Cantona.

From Stevie O Jay, on Wed 11 Nov 6:41PM
  12. Apart from it being a very hotly contested game with Chelsea eventually winning from a John Terry specially headed goal the match was somewhat marred by Drogba being booked by the referee after Evans had kicked him in the chest area when they were both going for the ball. How the referee could book Drogba and not Evans as well who could easily have been Red Carded for dangerous play I don't know and is just another reason why FIFA should introduce the TV eye aspect to the game to prevent such bad decisions like this being made by officials.
There was one other item that was noticeably missing from Man Utd's attire and that was the Rememberance Day Poppy which was sewn into all of the Chelsea players shirts and could easily be seen by all in attendance and those watching the match on TV however I was unable to see any sign of such a Poppy anywhere on the Man Utd players kit which I thought was rather an insult to all those men and women who had given their lives for this great Country of ours.
Perhaps Sir Alex Ferguson could provide the general public with an explanation as to why his players were not dressed in a similar fashion as those representing Chelsea ???

  16. Just watched Man Utd TV to see how life was at Manchester after their defeat to Chelsea. It was hilarious to see Paddy Crerand moaning about referee decisions. Excuse me?!? Alex Ferguson and Paddy Crerand never complained about referee decisions when they were the recipients of a lot of penalty decisions. Some were DUBIOUS to say the least. The most upsetting in recent memory was the one given to Cristiano Ronaldo in the match between Man Utd and Bolton (even Ronaldo was surprised at the decision). Truth be told, Johnny Evans was a "lucky" boy not to have been given a red card. Fletcher's rash and clumsy tackle on Ashley Cole was worthy of a free kick (some refs would have brandished a yellow card, but this one didn't). What about Van der Sar's attack on Ivanovich after the goal was scored?... They both should keep sucking on their thumbs!

    From obichukwu.nwachukwu, on Tue 10 Nov 6:29AM
  17. I believe man U deserved to win the match. They were the better team for most of the match and created the better chances. As for the foul evans commited on drogba, i say well done to him, if it were me, I would have stuck my boot in the guys face rather than his chest. He is a scumbag who goes down more than any other striker in the premiership and always tries to cheat and fool the ref. Anelka is 10 times the man drogba is and 10 times the player!
The goal scored was also a foul. No surprise though, we are used to drogba and terry commiting fouls in set pieces to score goals.
To all you united haters, just look at the team united has (much less impressive than the other big teams in europe), and look at their achievements this season. It just goas to show the quality of sir alex in arranging the team. He's the best manager english football has seen and there is no denying it! which other manager has been with a club for more than 20 years and has achieved so much?
