    Time:90'
    • Everton
    • Wolverhampton Wanderers
    • 90+4' The full-time whistle goes. A rip-roaring second half sees the game end 1-1.
    • 90+4' Baines's free-kick curls inches wide of goal!
    • 90+3' Wolves' sub Maierhofer sees red after the Austrian is booked for a second time following a clash with Howard.
    • 90+2' What about Wolves grabbing the winner?! Doyle is denied by Howard from point-blank range.
    • 89' There'll be four minutes of added time to be played. Can Everton grab a winner?!
    • 89' EQUALISER FOR EVERTON! Bilyaletdinov grabs his first goal for the club. Tapping home at the back post after a cross from Jo, the midfielder has spared the home side's blushes.
    • 86' Jo goes down in the box for a very hopeful appeal for a penalty. The referee waves it away.
    • 84' Maierhofer is booked after an altercation with Cahill.
    • 83' Everton are becoming increasingly frustrated...
    • 80' A great ball into the area by Fellaini but no-one is there to capitalise for Everton.
    • 79' Mick McCarthy is making a change. Their giant Austrian Stefan Maierhofer is coming on for Ebanks-Blake.
    • 79' Wolves can't believe their luck! Wait till you see Everton's defending!
    • 76' In the aftermath of the goal, Everton made a change. Fellaini is on for Osman.
    • 76' WOLVES TAKE THE LEAD! Shambolic defending from the home side allows Kevin Doyle to score. A long kick down field from Hennessey sunders Everton's defence alarmingly easily and Doyle simply has to prod the ball past Howard from eight yards out.
    • 74' Heitinga's effort from the edge of the area is well wide. A sign perhaps that frustration is beginning to get the better of the home side...
    • 73' Everton's top scorer, Saha, is off and their Brazilian striker Jo is on.
    • 71' It's got very messy! Saha and Yakubu want too much time on the ball and, after desperate Wolves defending, the danger is eventually cleared.
    • 68' Osman gets in on the left-hand side of the area but his cross is overhit and the ball is out of play.
    • 67' Edwards is in to the referee's book after a foul on Baines.
    • 64' Second change of the game for the visitors. Segundo Castillo, the former Everton player who was on loan at Goodison Park last sason, takes the place of Halford.
    • 64' Yakubu wastes a very good opportunity for Everton as he drags a shot wide of goal.
    • 63' Ebanks-Blake goes close again with a shot on the turn that takes a touch off Yobo before flying just past the post.
    • 61' Hennessey is at it again! This time to thwart Saha after he cut inside Craddock and shot right-footed from the edge of the area.
    • 60' Wolves fail to capitalise on a promising breakaway. When he could have played in Edwards, Doyle chose the wrong pass.
    • 58' The visitors make their first change. Kightly makes way for Matt Jarvis.
    • 57' What a let off for Wolves! Baines's ball over the top catches the visitors' defence at sixes and sevens. Bilyaletdinov is through with only Hennessey to beat but the keeper does brilliantly to deny the midfielder. The danger is only partially cleared but Cahill's cross is headed out of danger by Zubar.
    • 55' Kightly's delivery is disappointing and Everton attempt a quick breakaway but that too comes to nought after Saha is unable to get on the end of a cross by Bilyaletdinov.
    • 54' Saha is penalised after a challenge with Elokobi. The striker is mystified but the upshot is that Wolves have a free-kick in a dangerous area...
    • 52' David Moyes's half-time change which has seen his team go to two strikers is suiting the home side and giving the visitors a bit of a poser.
    • 50' Osman gets in down the left but his cross which was intended for Cahill is cut out by the Wolves defence.
    • 48' Yakubu's first meaningful involvement is to play in Saha but the Frenchman is offside as he tries to take the ball around Hennessey in the Wolves goal.
    • 46' The home side almost have the lead inside 30 seconds of the restart. Baines's cross from the left is headed into the ground by Saha but Hennessey tips the ball over the bar.
    • 45' Everton get the second period underway.
    • - Yakubu is on in place of Tony Hibbert.
    • - Everton also emerge, but with a change in personnel...
    • - Wolves are back out for the start of the second half...
    • 46' A fairly uninspiring first half comes to a close with the score goalless.
    • 44' A ridiculous attempt at goal by Ronald Zubar! The defender cut inside on to his left foot some 30 yards out and thinks, why not, I'll give it a try. It's miles off target.
    • 42' Wolves come oh so close! Zubar's low cross from the right finds Ebanks-Blake and his curling effort goes inches wide of Howard's left-hand post.
    • 39' Chance for Wolves! Halford's knockdown falls to Doyle. The striker's mishit shot cannons into Ebanks-Blake and drops wide of goal. His strike partner knew nothing about that.
    • 38' Saha tries to bulldoze through the Wolves defence but finds the combination of Berra and Craddock insurmountable.
    • 38' In truth, Hibbert's pass is symptomatic of the first half. The quality has not been great.
    • 37' A terrible pass by Hibbert sees an Everton attack down the right break down.
    • 37' Halford's unconvincing strike at goal is blocked by Yobo. Wolves' set-pieces are certainly causing some concern to the home side.
    • 35' A poor pass, this time from Kightly, sees Wolves' next attempt to create a chance fail.
    • 33' A misunderstanding between Edwards and Doyle sees a potentially promising breakaway come to nothing for the visitors.
    • 32' Rodwell leads the charge from midfield for Everton and the midfielder's hopeful cross causes a moment of concern for Hennessey who can only palm the ball to comparative safety.
    • 29' It's the first booking of the game and it's gone to Kightly of Wolves after the midfielder's ungainly stumble into Baines. It appeared clumsy but the referee interpreted it as cynical.
    • 28' Having said that, Doyle has just turned and shot from the edge of the area to draw a one-handed save from Howard. It was a decent effort but the keeper should always have saved it.
    • 28' Wolves' attacking threat is almost exclusively limited to the long throws of Halford...
    • 25' An emphatic headed clearance by the heroic Craddock clears his team's lines after a ball in from the right by Osman.
    • 24' Bilyaletdinov looks impressive down the left for Everton whenever he is in possession.
    • 23' There's been a bit of a lull in proceedings but fans of Wolves might be interested to know that Craddock has returned to the pitch with his head comprehensively bandaged.
    • 20' Bilyaletdinov's delivery from the left is headed wide by Distin.
    • 19' Halford floors Baines and Everton have a free-kick in a dangerous position...
    • 18' From the subsequent corner kick, Saha heads a very good chance over the bar. Everton, despite being slow to start, might already have found themselves two goals to the good.
    • 17' A lovely coaxed cross from the left by Bilyaletdinov requires Elokobi to knock the ball behind for a corner.
    • 16' What a chance for Everton! Berra slips attempting to deal with a long ball from Distin, it falls kindly to Cahill but the Aussie fires over the bar from the edge of the area.
    • 15' The home fans are urging their side on...
    • 13' A clash of heads between Yobo and Craddock sees the Wolves man come off worse. He's off the pitch for treatment to a head wound.
    • 12' Wolves are attempting to put the pressure on their hosts with a series of set-pieces.
    • 11' Halford's preparing another long throw, he certainly isn't shy! Berra's invariably his target but this time the ball drops to Edwards and the Welshman's shot is deflected wide for a corner.
    • 10' Berra's snap shot is blocked by Distin after Everton failed to clear a long throw by Halford. It was a decent chance for the visitors.
    • 9' Kightly's corner kick from the left is cleared by Osman.
    • 8' Doyle is working really hard for his team and is causing more than a little discomfort for Yobo.
    • 7' Elokobi's ball into the box is poor, the ball is cleared up to the other end of the pitch, but Hibbert's cross is food and drink for Hennessey.
    • 6' Hibbert's foul on Halford gives Wolves the opportunity to pump the ball into the box.
    • 4' Osman has a shot at goal but the referee has already blown for a foul on Craddock by Cahill.
    • 3' Saha is on the move down the right but his cross is blocked...
    • 2' Berra is down in a heap after a clash with Heitinga in the centre circle.
    • 1' Doyle touches the ball to Ebanks-Blake and we're away.
    • - Wolves' players gather in a pre-match huddle as the team in old gold prepare to get the game underway...
    • - 27-year-old Stuart Attwell is today's referee.
    • - Sylvan Ebanks-Blake almost makes a welcome return to the visitors' starting line-up.
    • - Michael Kightly is starting a Premier League game for Wolves for the first time this afternoon.
    • - After the customary handshakes all round we're almost ready to start.
    • - The teams emerge out on to the Goodison Park pitch to the familiar tune of Z-cars.
    • - Wolves team line-up: Hennessey, Zubar, Berra, Craddock, Elokobi, Kightly, Edwards, Henry, Halford, Doyle, Ebanks-Blake Subs: Hahnemann, Stearman, Keogh, Jarvis, Milijas, Maierhofer, Castillo
    • - Everton team line-up: Howard, Hibbert, Yobo, Distin, Baines, Osman, Rodwell, Heitinga, Bilyaletdinov, Cahill, Saha Subs: Nash, Jo, Gosling, Yakubu, Neill, Fellaini, Coleman
    • - Picked up seven points from their opening eight Premier League matches this season. They have not had a better record at this stage of any previous four top flight seasons, since they had 11 points from eight matches in the 1979-80 season.
    • - Unbeaten in their last ten PL home matches against promoted teams, winning their last six, since a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United in December 2005.
    • - Everton are unbeaten in their last four top flight home matches against Wolves, winning the last two without conceding a goal, since a 3-2 defeat in old Division One in Sep 1979.
    • - Everton welcome Wolves to Goodison Park hoping to bounce back from their 1-1 draw at home to Stoke on their last outing before the international break.
  • Summary

    • 90+4' Baines's free-kick curls inches wide of goal!

  2. Greg Halford's throws cause havoc in the oppositions' penalty area, so why aren't we using the tallest player in the league to try and do something on those occasions. Bringing him on after Halford was substituted is a bit of a waste I think.

  5. Strewth, how many bad decisions are going to go against Wolves?? After the penalties in the last couple of games, a blatant foul on Doyle in the lead up to the Everton goes is missed. Booking then sending off Maierhofer with no cards for the Everton players retaliating was also a disgrace

If you are an Everton fan? you should be disgusted with yourself...

Moyes is recognized as one of the best if not the best manager in the premier league.
even the great Sir Fergie has bad days

Go slap yourself with a baseball bat till it knocks some respect into you...
