Liverpool slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Fulham as they followed up their win over Manchester United with a fifth loss in the league. More
87' Fulham are carving Liverpool apart here, Zamora with a great flick on to Dempsey on the edge of the box, acres of space, he cuts inside and feeds Nevland wide right, he has time to turn and slip it across to Dempsey who unmarked slides it past Reina for 3-1. Oh dear.
85' Zamora puts into the back of the net but he was just offside.
84' Dempsey takes the free-kick, sending it into the wall, the loose ball drops for Pantsil who drills it low across goal but wide of the far post!
82' Carragher refused to leave the pitch for a period, arguing with the ref but that - unlike Degen's - was a definite red as Zamora was through. A yellow is shown to another Liverpool player...
81' The ball is sent through to Zamora who is past Carragher, who rugby-tackles him to the ground and it's a straight red! Professional foul! Finally Carragher gets caught out for what has been a repeated error in recent weeks. Perhaps Fergie's words after the United win had an effect...
79' Degen slides late into Dempsey and it's a straight red! That was harsh, Dempsey is down hurt but it was clumsy and he hardly touched him, Liverpool down to 10 men.
77' LIVERPOOL SUB: Young Nathan Ecclestone on for Benayoun, who was the most creative player left on the pitch.
75' Fulham come forward again, Nevland low in from the right and Dempsey flies in but nicked away from him and ZAMORA but he blasts a tricky volley over!
73' Kuyt slides in to keep the ball from going out for a throw, but a poor decision as Konchesky races on to the loose ball, he sprints past Degen and hangs over a testing cross that Reina can only palm away, it falls to Gera at the far post, the angle is too tight so he stoops to head it low across goal AND NEVLAND! OUTRAGEOUS BACKHEEL UNDER PRESSURE PAST REINA AND IN! 2-1 Fulham and the sub has scored an instinctive goal!
64' LIVERPOOL SUB: Benitez throws caution to the wind by bringing off Torres for, um, Babel. He seems fine too, odd decision. Maybe Babel will prove us wrong, although his boss probably has an eye on the must-win Champions League clash at Lyon.
61' Long from Baird and it sends Zamora through, he's in past Carragher who gets across him and both go down, Zamora is convinced it was a foul but no penalty!
59' Diagonal ball frees Zamora on the left, he pings a super ball to Gera WHO TAKES IT ON THE CHEST, SPINS AND VOLLEYS but hits it weakly at Reina! Ooooh, if he'd make proper contact that would have been some goal.
54' Konchesky gets the better of Kuyt but his low ball fails to find Zamora and Liverpool clear, Lucas is taken down by Baird and it's a yellow card.
48' Torres on the edge of the box tries a shot, blocked but it flies into the air and Kuyt and Voronin fly in on Schwarzer, who punches clear but the flag is up for offside.
47' HALF-TIME DOUBLE FULHAM SUBS: Duff and Kamara are both injured, a big blow for Fulham. Nevland is on, as is Gera.
46' Second half underway!!
45+1 Half-time and it's 1-1, Liverpool's Fernando Torres levelling Bobby Zamora's opener.
42' High one towards the box, Voronin tries the flick on which bounces off the falling Hughes's chest TO TORRES WHO DRILLS IT FIRST-TIME INTO THE BOTTOM LEFT FOR 1-1! Typical poacher's goal, half a chance and he snapped it up. Deserved leveller given Liverpool's control of the game.
35' Voronin is offside after being played through.
23' Fulham with a rare spell of possession as Kamara feeds Duff left-centre, he drills it low to bisect the Liverpool defence AND ZAMORA IS UNMARKED ZAMORA SCORES!! 1-0 TO FULHAM! Kyrgiakos went to sleep there, totally out of position playing Zamora on and letting Duff's mis-hit cross find the big man.
21' Voronin wide to Degen who puts a cross in that evades the Fulham defence and drops to Benayoun in the left corner of the box AND OFF THE BAR BY BENAYOUN! He controlled and smashed the ball high past Schwarzer but denied by the woodwork!
1' Match underway at Craven Cottage!
- Referee: Lee Mason (England)
- Liverpool team: Reina, Degen, Carragher, Kyrgiakos, Insua, Kuyt, Mascherano, Lucas, Benayoun, Voronin, Torres; Subs: Gulacsi, Babel, Spearing, Plessis, Dossena, Eccleston, Ayala
- Fulham team: Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Dempsey, Baird, Greening, Duff, Zamora, Kamara; Subs: Zuberbuhler, Kelly, Nevland, Gera, Riise, Etuhu, Smalling
- The build-up to today's Premier League clash between Fulham and Liverpool starts here! The Whites have been in good form recently, beating Hull 2-0 and picking up creditable draws at home to Roma in the Europa League and at Manchester City in the Prem. The Reds, meanwhile, are feeling good despite their midweek Carling Cup defeat to Arsenal, as they came off a poor run of form to down Manchester United last weekend. Should be a cracker!

6 defeats in 7 now and out of league cup, almost out of premiership race and could be out of champions league

ever since the EPL started so called experts have say this could be liverpool's season, yet time after time they fail, when will people wake up. Yes they up there game against the top teams but the season is not over 6 games, they will do well to finish 6th this season. All the liverpool fans will say this is not ture but it is, the truth hurts

Fulham won this game 3-1
Liverpool had two shot on goal and 72% of the game but it goals that win games
Why take off the best striker I have seen for years Torres is world class
Fulham looked good with or without the ball
Livirpool have good players but
Fulham have a good manager

The only thing that scared me on halloween was rooneys face. =D.

I'm a man utd fan & have to say that a few years ago God sorry Sir God Ferguson said about Leeds players cheating their fans by raising their game whenever they played US,any difference here with the pool' team? I dont think so,it seems that their whole season revolves around beating us & nowt else matters,oh well at least they have the second leg of their cup final to look forward to when they come to the theatre of dreams!!!! Long live Rafa & the squabbling Yanks hehehehehehehe

DEAR LORD
I WANT LIVERPOOL TO KEEP BENITEZ, HICKS, GILLET, VORONIN AND LUCAS
I ALSO WANT TO SEE BENITEZ KEEP ON SUB-BING TORRES GERRAD KUYT AND BENAYOUN
I HOPE YOU CAN GET THEM RELEGATED IN ANOTHER 2 YEARS TIME
AMIN

like i said last week ... man u might lose some big games against the top 4 ... but the always pick up the wins against the smaller teams ... something liverpool cant do ... simple as

to LFC fans and not the fools of other lesser clubs - The following info is from a person in very close contact to LFC staff including Dalglish. Do you remember the rumours in the summer about LFC signing David Villa? Well, Villa was flown over to Anfield via private jet and came in unnoticed and behind closed doors. He was pictured wearing an LFC shirt at Anfield so the media would not know about it. This is because a Ł35m deal was agreed with Voronin also being sold to Hertha Berlin and Ngog going on loan to Watford. Here is the key - Gillett had a few reservations but was ok with the deal, however, TOM HICKS would not sanction the deal, so the lot fell apart. Hence, we have no other recognised striker, Voronin is still at the club and Ngog is our best striker after Torres. Of course, Rafa can not say anything about this without further disruption.
Is Rafa to blame for our current situation? Other than SG & JC it is his squad, and so yes. Mixed with ridiculous selections and substitutions etc, the buck stops with him as they say. But consider the impact of the yanks in this scene, incredible.
Wasn't it sweet to beat manure AGAIN? Thank you for stopping our run of defeats.

Not sure whether the game was a Halloween horror show or an early start to the pantomime season. Whichever it was, we can say ta-ta to any chance of the number one spot now. Time we said ta-ta to Benitez as well, so far as I'm concerned.

sarahandjohnbrooks should go back to her knitting and watching soaps instead of a slagging off a team she knows absolutely nothing about.

oops.....should have kept el nino on.

Liverpool fans, what planet are you on? how on earth can you trust in Benitez, growing up I had to endure Liverpool fans goin on about 26 years without a title for United, NOW THE BOOT IS ON THE OTHER FOOT, Liverpool gonna beat that record, this is the poorest Liverpool side ever, stop kidding yourselves that you are gonna win anything, and you know what I LOVE IT, lets all have a big drink for the pools being a clueless team going nowhere except down the table and I will be cheering on Lyon when they effectively dump you out the champions league on wednesday lmfao hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaah

Rafa!!..lol..he kept Voronin for full time and took out Benayoun..RAFA YOU ARE OFFICALLY A LEGEND!!..PLEASE PUT HIM ON THE HALL OF FAME!!

wat???????
liverpool lost 5 times?!!?!?!??!?!
wat happened to the team?!?!?!?!?1

sad league for liverpool

liverpool always is poor

liverpool just dont have what it takes to win anything, not even to win over fans.... chelsea are champs.......
