Fulham plunged Wigan Athletic deep into relegation trouble after coming back to win 2-1 at Craven Cottage. More
- FULL TIME: FULHAM 2 (Okaka, Hangeland) WIGAN 1 (Scotland)
90+4' PEEEEEEEEEEP!!!PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!! PEEEEEEEEEEP!!! It's all over. Fulham come from behind to grab a win that will see them safe in the Premier League but will have Wigan peering over their shoulders towards the bottom three.
87' SUBS FOR FULHAM: Baird replaces Murphy. Nevland replaces Okaka.
84' SUBS FOR WIGAN: Sinclair replaces Moreno. Watson replaces N'Zogbia.
84' CAUTION FOR OKAKA.
67' How's this for a stat? The last time this fixture produced three goals in a league fixture was in the fourth tier of English football. Impressive eh?
62' Figueroa is cautioned. The defender trips Duff.
59' SUB FOR WIGAN: Moses replaces Scotland
56' GOAL FOR FULHAM!!!!..Dempsey gets into the left edge of the box...goes to cross but it's behind for a corner....Davies takes...Hangeland rises highest and his header beats Kirkland and bounces in off the post.
54' Okaka forces a throw on the Fulham right...Davies to take...Duff crosses right-footed and gets a corner...Duff takes...cleared...back to Duff...to Davies...inside to Gera...cushions it for Duff who shoots but Kirkland gets down to save.
53' Okaka's a real handful. But Wigan still look to go forward. Moreno gets into the box but he's offside.
50' Okaka breaks but Bramble stops him. And it appears Okaka has tweaked his ankle...Wigan go forward...Rodallega gets free 25 yards out and shoots. Schwarzer saves low to his left but it wasn't easy.
48' What a start to the half....but what's this? Gera is receiving treatment to his nose.
46' GOAL FOR FULHAM!!!!! Okaka scores with his first touch!!! Gera robbed Paul Scharner on the right edge of the box. He gets to the goal line and fires his cross towards the near post. Okaka got in front of Bramble to flick the ball over Kirkland. Lovely finish.
46' Wigan get the second half off and running.
46' SUB FOR FULHAM: Okaka replaces Elm.
- HALF TIME: FULHAM 0 WIGAN 1 (Scotland 33)
45+2' That's half-time. A good half. Wigan started the brighter but Fulham got back into the game and began to control it. Jason Scotland's first Premier League goal changed all that and we have a great second half in store.
41' ANOTHER PENALTY SHOUT FOR FULHAM!! First up Duff's cross from the right gets deflected and Kirkland palms it away. Dempsey gets onto it and turns away from Melchiot and goes down. Again the ref says 'No'.
36' Fulham are not happy. Dempsey and Gera are having words with each other....Gera is fouled just inside the Wigan half...cleared...Elm gets onto it....shoots left-footed for the far corner from 20 yards but it's wide. Better though.
33' GOAL FLASH: FULHAM 0 WIGAN 1 (Scotland)
33' GOAL FOR WIGAN!!!!Scotland to Moreno...wide to Figueroa...inside to McCarthy...wide on the right to Melchiot...he crosses and Moreno heads down to Jason Scotland who strikes it left-footed and beats Schwarzer at his near post from 12 yards. That's his first goal in 29 Premier League games.
30' OFF THE LINE FROM WIGAN!!! Schwarzer comes for a free-kick...makes a hash of it and Scharner loops it up and over the keeper but Hangeland clears...only as far as Figueroa who, from about 40 yards, pings it back in and Schwarzer is forced to tip it over.
29' Figueroa is caught by Gera and it holding his left leg. On comes the physio...
27' Moreno shoots from distance...deflected and Wigan have a corner on the left...Scharner meets it but heads it over...
18' Just seen a replay of the penalty incident and Gera simply kicks the ground and takes a huge divot out of the pitch. No penalty. Not sure why Gera appealed. Maybe out of embarassment?
17' PENALTY SHOUT FOR FULHAM!! Gera takes a tumble in the box under the challange from Diame. The ref has a good look, puts his arm behind his back and says 'No'.
14' GREAT CHANCE FOR FULHAM!!! Gera and Dempsey combine to release Elm on the edge of the box. He takes a touch and shoots but it's straight at Kirkland who saves.
11' CAUTION FOR SCHARNER. The Wigan defender is too clever and tries to turn Elm. He makes a hash of it and is forced to foul Elm by pulling him back.
4' It's got scrappy but Figueroa again finds space on the left and fires a cross-cum-shot. Davies releases Duff down the right. He turns, crosses and Gera flings himself at the diving header but it's straight at Kirkland. Good chance.
1' Fulham get us under way, kicking right to left.
- Both sides enter the pitch. This is Fulham's 53rd game of the season. Yep, you heard me right - 53rd. Fulham are in their usual white shirts, black shorts with white socks. Wigan are standing out in bright orange shirts, black shorts and bright orange socks...kick-off is next....
- Nearly time for kick-off and Craven Cottage is bathed in sunshine. After the dramatic boat race that took place on the Thames just behind the ground let's hope for more drama this afternoon.
- Fulham will look to cement their place in mid-table today. The Cottagers have two games in hand on the majority of their close rivals. Wigan need points...any points. They sit four points above the drop and could still be involved in a relegation scrap.
- Ooohhh, no Bobby Zamora for Fulham as David Elm gets his spot up front. I wonder what West Ham will make of that eh? The good news for Wigan is Chris Kirkland has shaken off a virus and starts in goal.
- Referee: Mark Clattenburg (Tyne & Wear)
