Substitute Michael Owen netted a dramatic injury-time winner as United beat City 4-3 in a pulsating Manchester derby at Old Trafford. More
90'+7 And there it is! All over at Old Trafford and United win it in the most dramatic of fashions! What an incredible game! United win it 4-3, thanks to Owen's late, late heroics!
90'+6 GOAL! AMAZING! AMAZING! WHAT A FINISH! OWEN SCORES! OWEN SCORES! The substitute grabs all three points at the death with a lovely finish with the outside of his boot! 4-3!
90'+3 Another change for United... Carrick on for Anderson.
90'+1 GOAL! INCREDIBLE! BELLAMY SCORES! IT'S 3-3! But what a terrible mistake by Ferdinand! What is he doing, trying to flick the ball over Bellamy on the halfway line? Bellamy takes full advantage, sprinting clear before rounding Foster, getting to the byline and sliding from an acute angle into the back of the net! Amazing!
89' Oooh! SWP forces a save from Foster with a crisp drive as City break before the ball is whipped across the face of United's goal! But Richards can't quite get react quick enough! Two real chances for a late City equaliser!
83' City make a change... Petrov for De Jong. City have to get forward if they are to get something from this one...
81' GOAL! UNITED TAKE THE LEAD FOR A THIRD TIME! AND IT'S FLETCHER AGAIN! It's almost identical to his first as Giggs whips in a free-kick and he rises highest to head past Given! 3-2 now!
78' Owen replaces Berbatov, who should really have got on the scoresheet today - and would have had it not been for Given.
70' GIGGS! NO! GIVEN AGAIN TO CITY'S RESCUE! This time, Giggs lashes a half-volley goalwards, only to see Given beat it behind for a corner! The champions are rampant at the moment!
69' BERBATOV AGAIN! And again anothe fine save by Given to deny Berbatov a header after lovely work by Giggs on the left!
65' BERBATOV! Oooh! Denied by a fine reaction save by Given! Berbatov was unmarked from the corner there.... he perhaps should have found the back of the net! City have Given to thank once again...
62' United make a change... Park off, Valencia on. He's got half an hour to make an impression.
58' Bellamy hacks at Anderson, who hits the deck in some pain... and the City man will go into the book for that.
53' Park again is allowed to strike on goal! But again the Korean is off target!
52' GOAL! BELLAMY PULLS CITY LEVEL! WHAT A STRIKE! WHAT A GAME! City break and Bellamy simply lamps it into the top right hand corner, leaving Foster no chance at all! Unbelievable! 2-2 now!
52' Oooh! Another chance for United! Rooney feeds the overlapping Giggs who stabs goalwards! Great stop by Given, who saves with his legs!
49' GOAL! FLETCHER RESTORES UNITED'S LEAD! Evra and Giggs link before the latter delivers a cross towards Fletcher, who rises high to head past Given! 2-1 now and United have started the second half in a similar vein to the first!
46' Back underway at Old Trafford!
45'+4 And there goes the half-time whistle! 1-1 at the break and what a half it's been! Rooney opened the scoring early on, only for Tevez to force an opening for an equaliser for Barry. Tevez then got booked and hit the post! Plenty more action to come...
45'+3 Bellamy strikes it! Against the wall but it drops to Lescott who lashes over the bar!
44' TEVEZ HITS THE POST! It all stewms from a careless back heel by Rooney that allows Toure to advance forward... he plays it in, Ireland leaves it and Tevez gets on the end of it! But his shot strikes the outside of Foster's upright! So close! What a story that would have been!
43' Vidic now goes into the book as he hauls down SWP after the City speedster does him for pace.
35' Anderson is pulled up for a challenge on his old pal Tevez... and he'll get booked for it...
27' Ferdinand is brought down by Tevez! That's a real striker's challenge from the Argentine! He apologises straight away, but the ref is going to book him anyway. Cue yet more jeers from the home crowd!
16' GOAL! CITY EQUALISE THROUGH BARRY! But it's all about the persistance of Tevez, who hassles and harries Foster as the keeper tries to turn back into his box, where he can pick the ball up, instead of booting into the stands! With Foster scrambling and eventually going to ground, Tevez wins the ball off him before playing across to Barry who coolly finds the corner of the net! City are back on level terms!
2' GOAL! INCREDIBLE START FOR UNITED! AND IT'S ROONEY WHO OPENS THE SCORING! City switch off as a quick throw is taken to Evra, who is left all alone! He picks out Rooney but he still has plenty to do... he stays on his feet to ride one challenge before slotting past Given to give United the lead!
1' Here we go! Underway in bright sunshine in Manchester!
- Most pre-match talk has centred on the return to Old Trafford of Carlos Tevez. The news just in is that he will start, having shaken off his knock!

Hughes said: "The board had gone up for four minutes of additional time at the same time as Craig Bellamy made it 3-3.
"The additional time after the four minutes didn't sit comfortably with me. We feel aggrieved.
"Everyone in the stadium knew the time allotted. I would like an explanation why more was added on but I rather doubt I will get it.
"The fourth official said time was added because of our goal celebration but that lasted only 45 seconds."
THE STATEMENTS FROM THE REF AND MARK HUGHES CLEARY INDICATES THAT YOU KNOW FOOTBALL RULES BETTER THAN THEM :).................... they are saying that goal celebration increses extra time.................
NONE OF THEM SAID"....oh goal celebration is not a part of extra time.... it is a part of 90 minsssssssss....."

great game, I am a man city fan and am just impressed we have come so far by taking it to man u.
the time thing shouldnt matter, we went to sleep after playing for a draw and it backfired.. man u played to the whistle.. as an mcfc fan I am happy and the top four looks possible now

What a finish. Owen who was struggling has helped United beat their inter city rivals. Man U don't need Ronaldo. Forget him! Owen was a good replacement for Ronaldo. I think Chelsea are going to struggle, with that kind of performance.

hh

ferdinand is so highly over rated.. extremely over paid, prohibitively under worked. without vidic he's hopeless. he played a good match in the 1990 world cup and hasnt had a good match since. he has no ball skills, but he thinks he's ronaldo.
ronaldo will be successful wherever he goes.... he is so hungry for goals, so wanting to score goals that his dedication, superb skills and enthusiasm will rub off onto his team mates. he plays 110% effort each match unlike rio, who takes a vacation on the pitch.
ferdinand should be deducted his salary for such pitful work ethics... play a few b team matches and make him realise that he isnt gods gift to man u.. total a***hole

Why are you city fans keep on going about the extra time given on the weekend the way I see it city could of used those 7 minutes to score themselves and if you would of scored I bet none of you would be complaning now

Oh come on and get over it!!! Man United mite get extra time but the other team have to use it too!! It is not as if Man United got given extra time and Man City wouldn't use!! It is not as if when the Ref adds more extra time on he send the other team off the pitch!! All I know is that it would be a diffirent story if Man City scored in that extra time!! Great game!!

TO 1554
GOALS YES CELABRATION NO ONCE A GOAL IS SCORED GAME STOPS UNTILL REF BLOWES FOR RESTART SO 1 MIN CELABRATION IS NOT PART OF ANY GAME NO MATTER WHAT PLANET YOUR ON

to 1553..you clearly dont have a clue about how they meant to add injury time...you say they add 45 seconds per goal..lmao! goals are part of the game!! fortunately :) thats part of the 90 minutes..so if a teams winning 8 0 that means they add 6 mins based on goals alone..dont talk stupid. goals and celebrations are part of the game they dont count as part of injury time, unless excessive celebrations which is obvious time wasting. so by your logic..the 4 3 newcastle liverpool games should have had 7 times 45 secs is 5 mins 15 seconds then 6 subs is 6 times 30 is 3 mins thats 8 mins 15 secs without any additional injurys..you talk out ur a$$. dont have a clue..obvs a manc fan. but facts r when man utd are winning they get pn average 3 mins 30 injury time, when they are losing they get 4 mins 17..the most of any premier team...thats fact! bit suspicious dont you think?

glory-glory man utd!!!

man utd 4ever

just kick adebayor's @#$%....!!!he deserve it..for huges..you still just an amateur coach...not good enough for fergie..you got that..!!!

Man City Crying??????????
Its over and done with. Prepare for your upcoming losses. You can't play with the champions. Man U are ordained champions for life. Doubting? You've done that for the last three seasons. I guess its your incurable cancer. City are pretenders. Man U is action oriented. Come on show them boys again. Ole Ole Ole!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aamirishayat: well explained but muppets don't see reason mate. It is falling on deaf ears for most of the posters.

The Injury Time Given Was Actually Less
In the 2nd half till 90 minutes there were 3 substitutions, 2 from United and 1 from City.
So 3 x 30 seconds = 1 min 30 seconds
There were 3 goals scored till 90 minutes of the game and if you consider the goal celebrations it will come out to be around 45 seconds for each of the goal.So add that comes to 3 x 45 seconds = 2 mins 15 seconds.
Add this two times it comes to 3 mins and 45 seconds.
For the fouls also the game is stopped which was given by the ref as 15 seconds which is VERY LESS for a Derby game, I am sure it was more. It should be MORE.
So now we got the 4 minutes of stoppage time. But something changed here and the ref has to consider that.
Bellamy scored City's 3rd on 89:55 The game does not restart until 91:01. 1 minute and 6 seconds have been wasted and will be added onto the original four minutes of added time, taking it to at least 95:06 Michael Carrick was brought on to replace Anderson. All substitutions add 30 seconds onto added time, taking it to 95: 36 Owen scored the winner on 95:28, meaning the game was still 8 seconds within added time.

amila g not a United supporter

i 'm a manu supporter ! but i 'm ashamed of my club the officials yesterday we deserved to win bc. we did play the best football for this season . first of all i didn't understand why the 4 min added time ? where it came from and went to 7th min /97/ ? look at chelsea v tottenham ! there are lots of player injured ! the officials only added 8 min ! but there was no injury during the manchester derby ! it 's up to you guys to judge ! anyway go man. uniteddddddd forever!
