    • 90+6' There's the final whistle! Manchester United return to the top of the Premier League, but if Bolton had started playing a bit sooner it might have been a different story!
    • 90+5' CAHILL!!! He has a great chance to equalise but Van der Sar stops his header!!
    • 90+4' Chaos at the back from Bolton!! Welbeck has a chance to put the result beyond doubt but Jaaskelainen saves.
    • 90+2' Zat Knight heads well over the bar frmo inside the box.
    • 90+1' Four minutes of stoppage time to be played!
    • 90' KLASNIC!! Shoots low from the edge of the box and his effort sccots a foot or so wide!
    • 89' Bebratov is back on and leading a counter-attack.. he plays a superb ball for Valencia who fails completely to control the ball!
    • 87' Berbatov has a cut, and he is sent to the touchline for treatment. The last thing United need when they are about to defend a set piece.
    • 86' Final United change - Paul Scholes on for Anderson.
    • 85' United do not look altogether comfortable, and the frequency of Sir Alex's chewing has increased markedly.
    • 84' And another United change: Danny Welbeck is on for Michael Owen.
    • 83' United change: John O'Shea replaces Patrice Evra.
    • 81' The corner is cleared but the home side are definitely feeling the pressure.
    • 80' A Klasnic shot is deflected behind for Bolton's first corner...
    • 78' Basham's first contribution is to intercept a Valencia cross from the United right.
    • 77' Ryan Giggs with a poor corner from the United left. There is just a hint of anxiety around Old Trafford now.
    • 76' Bolton change: Chris Basham replaces Fabrice Muamba.
    • 75' GOAL!!! MATTHEW TAYLOR!!! He heads in from Kevin Davies's cross, leaping high above Evra - Bolton are back in it!
    • 74' Bolton are enjoying probably their best spell of the game by doing what Bolton do best - getting bodies forward and knocking it long.
    • 73' Carrick stands the ball up to the right-hand post where Berbatov arrives, but the Bulgarian's effort is blocked.
    • 71' Klasnic puts the ball in the net, but it is a free-kick to United - Ricardo Gardner is adjudged to have fouled Van der Sar when challenging for a high ball.
    • 70' Free-kick for Bolton, and you know this is going to be lumped into the box.
    • 68' Electric pace from Valencia as he races down the right channel. He shoots, but Jaaskelainen makes another good save!
    • 66' A Bolton free-kick is played into the area and bobbles around.. Muamba strikes but his close-range effort is blocked.
    • 65' Neville crosses low from the right, and Owen gets a touch but sends the ball high over the bar. His claims for a corner go unheeded.
    • 64' Mark Davies comes on for the disappointing Cohen for Bolton.
    • 63' United corner on the left... Giggs across to take. United have had nine corners to Bolton's none... this one comes to nothing.
    • 61' Berbatov supplies Owen again with a cunning flick, but once more Owen fails to control, and Jaaskelainen puts it out for a corner.
    • 60' Optimistic long-range goal attempt from Tamir Cohen... low, and an easy save for Van der Sar.
    • 59' Valencia crosses from the right, but Cahill clears.
    • 57' ACROBATIC BY BERBATOV!!! He volleys Valencia's clipped cross goalwards but Jaaskelainen produces another magnificent save!
    • 55' Giggs turns his defender one way, then the other, then goes for goal - straight at Jaaskelainen.
    • 54' Taylor strikes a long-range effort just over the bar!
    • 53' Bolton make a change, with Ivan Klasnic replacing Lee Chung-Yong.
    • 53' Sublime backheel by Berbatov to play Owen through on goal... and he stabs his shot well wide of the target!! What a chance! Brilliant from Berbatov.
    • 52' Another really poor touch from Owen gives possession back to Bolton.
    • 51' Berbatov finds Owen in space on the right side of the box, but he drags his shot wide! Michael Owen looks nothing like an England player at the moment. If Darren Bent cannot get in the squad, why on earth would Owen?
    • 50' Evra is back on, and he immiediately comes back to defend a free-kick... swung towards KNIGHT!! His downward header forces a diving save from Van der Sar!
    • 49' Giggs's free-kick finds Ferdinand at the back post, but he and Berbatov try to be a bit too clever, flciking the ball around the Bolton box and a defender inevitably intercepts.
    • 49' Evra has stayed down after that challenge and rolls off the pitch for treatment.
    • 48' Kevi Davies hacks Evra down at the edge of the Bolton box. Cynical stuff, and that's a clear yellow card.
    • 47' Valencia earns the first corner of the second half, which skips in front of goal but nobody can turn it in.
    • 46' Second half under way. No personnel changes from either side, and Bolton need a real improvement to stop this second half becoming a formality for United.
    • 45+1' Great ball from Valencia to Owen, who is flagged offside... and that's half-time. United well in control.
    • 45+1' One minute of added time to be played.
    • 45' Muamba hits a weak leftfoot shot at the edge of the box, which bounces through to Van der Sar - a routine save.
    • 44' Taylor glides forward for Bolton and finds Davies, whose touch is a little heavy and the move breaks down.
    • 42' Half-chance for Bolton at the edge of the United box, but Taylor runs into Lee and the home side clear.
    • 41' Knight rises highest to head clear a Giggs cross from the left but United have a throw.
    • 40' Now Giggs is in central midfield winning the ball.. it is played forward to the overlapping Evra but the Frenchman has strayed just offside.
    • 38' Samuel gets forward down the Bolton left, but puts the ball out for a goal-kick.
    • 37' Rio Ferdinand strides out of defence with the ball. His performances have come under a bit of scrutiny after that cock-up in Ukraine, but he has not had much to do today.
    • 35' Want to see a picture of Zat Knight scoring an own-goal? Click here, then!
    • 34' That puts the champions in complete control and they appear destined to return to the top of the table.
    • 33' GOAL!!! ANTONIO VALENCIA!! His first goal for United! He runs into the box from the right, plays a neat one-two with Gary Neville and blasts the ball into the right corner of the net.
    • 32' This is a bright spell for Bolton, and Taylor hits another shot - this time a mis-hit effort from the edge of the box that goes well wide.
    • 31' TAYLOR!! Hits a dropping ball at the edge of the box and sends it a foot or so wide of the left-hand post! So close!
    • 29' Taylor hits a free-kick into the United box but it is low and poor, and bobbles through to Van der Sar.
    • 28' Berbatov looks to get beyond the last man but he is offside.
    • 26' Giggs has been right in the thick of it, but this time he is adjudged to have pushed Ricketts as he attempted to dribble past him.
    • 25' Lee cuts inside from the right and centres for Davies, who meets the ball with a rather odd chip that goes harmlessly through to Van der Sar.
    • 23' VALENCIA!! Fires from the edge of the Bolton box, but it is straight at Jaaskelainen who parries for a corner.
    • 22' Giggs crosses from the right for Carrick, who tries to hook a shot goalwards but sends it a yard wide of the left-hand post.
    • 21' Owen is actually playing quite deep - almost in the Rooney role, reprising the position he played a bit for Newcastle.
    • 19' Offside against Michael Owen, and Bolton hoof the ball downfield.
    • 18' Goals at the Emirates Stadium - you can probably guess which way they have gone. Arsenal v Birmingham
    • 17' Carrick plays a ball down the left for Giggs, who keeps the ball in play and rounds his man superbly, but his cross is blocked.
    • 15' Evra digs out a cross from the left byline, and Owen just stands there as the ball drifts over his head! You won't get to the World Cup that way, little Mickey...
    • 14' CHANCE FOR KEVIN DAVIES!! Ricketts crosses from the right and the Bolton skipper sends a free header wide! He was yards offside but the flag stayed down!
    • 13' BERBATOV!! Fires a volley just wide from the edge of the box! That would have been something special.
    • 12' That's not something you expect to see - Dimitar Berbatov hassling Cahill and forcing him to pass back to Jaaskelainen.
    • 10' Bolton finally look to have settled, and their damage-limitation exercise is working for now. They have only had 33 per cent possession, mind.
    • 9' There has been a goal at the Stadium of Light between Sunderland and Liverpool. Who has got it?
    • 8' United are all over Bolton, and the visitors' aim must surely be to keep the score at 1-0 and hope to hit back on the break.
    • 7' Owen nearly gets in after a lofted through-ball, but Jlloyd Samuel defends it well.
    • 6' BRILLIANT SAVE JAASKELAINEN!!! He somehow keeps out Evans's header after sublime build-up play from Berbatov and Giggs! United starting on fire!
    • 5' GOAL!!! An own-goal by Zat Knight!! Owen does not make proper contact with Evra's cross, but his glanced header goes in off the luckless Bolton defender. A definite o.g.
    • 4' A win will send United back to the top of the table following Chelsea's defeat at Aston Villa. Click the link for a full match report. Villa punish sloppy Chelsea
    • 3' Ryan Giggs gets a start this afternoon after his baffling omission from the champions' last game against Sunderland.
    • 2' This is a big afternoon for Bolton defender Gary Cahill, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford. And for that reason, Jonny Evans will also want to impress for the hosts.
    • 1' Game on! United are playing from left to right as we see it in their red and white home kit. Bolton are in white and navy.
    • - BOLTON TEAM NEWS: Bolton, unbeaten in five games, have Kevin Davies up front on his own as Gary Megson's men look to resume after the international break in solid form.
    • - UNITED TEAM NEWS: Edwin van der Sar is named in the Manchester United starting line-up for the first time this season after recovering from the broken fingers he suffered in a pre-season game in Munich. His inclusion is one of eight changes to the United side that drew against Sunderland last time out, with Nemanja Vidic missing due to an ankle injury. Ben Foster, meanwhile, does not even make the bench despite starring for England in the 3-0 win over Belarus - Tomasz Kuszczak sits instead.

  3. Luck is not the factor here. It's purely professional football. People who don't play football in a league can talk/ comment as much as they want. But please don't talk/ comment rubbish. Man Utd are the most sucessfull football club. There are time that they struggle just as other clubs do. Just look at Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and the others. They all have their struggles.

  19. Bolton gave a good account of themselves in the last half an hour. It was nail biting stuff the way ManUnited were playing. They kept losing the ball and passes went astray. Ferdinand was okay but still did not look confident. Neville should have been kept on the bench - he looked rusty. But the three points are most welcome since ManUnited were still not playing at their best.
