    • Manchester United
    • Everton
    • 90' Full time and a fully deserved win for United.
    • 90' SAVE! VDS is determined to keep a clean sheet, as he plunges to his left to keep out a drive from Rodwell.
    • 89' Heitinga strikes crisply from 25 yards but Evra heads the ball to safety. From the corner Fellaini wastes a chance by heading over the top.
    • 87' CHANCE! United switch off at a corner and Rodwell has space on the edge of the box but shoots well wide.
    • 83' United counter by throwing on Gibson for Carrick.
    • 83' Everton bring on Hibber and Jo for Saha and Cahill. That will strike fear into United.
    • 81' Everton go close through Cahill, but his effort is cleared by Vidic.
    • 76' GOAL UNITED! The floodgates could well open, as Scholes drives forward and slips in Valencia. His shot flicks off Baines and into the far corner.
    • 74' A disappointed Wayne Rooney trudges off to be replaced by Obertan.
    • 69' Apologies to Baines, the card was actually for Carrick for kicking the ball away.
    • 69' Baines picks up a card but to be honest i don't know what it was for.
    • 67' GOAL UNITED! Lucky, lucky, lucky. Rooney lets fly from a corner but the shot is so bad it goes all the way to Giggs who took the corner. From then on it was not lucky, as Giggs picked out Carrick and he stroked the ball into the corner.
    • 67' CHANCE! The ball is flicked in by Giggs to Owen, he has the goal in his sights but the flick with the outside of his boot is weak and Distan smuggles it behind.
    • 64' Everton are in this now and the Yak shows strength to outmuscle Brown and turn before shooting just wide.
    • 63' The elder statesman of the United midfield Paul Scholes comes on for Rafael.
    • 63' United have offered little of late, but they show their class as Rafael and Owen combine to find Rooney and he curls his shot just over.
    • 60' Everton open up United again, Yakubu plays in Cahill but VDS races off his line to gather with Cahill closing in.
    • 58' GOAL, NO! Slick play from Everton as they open up United and Fellaini slots home, but his celebrations are cut short by an offside flag. It was the right decision.
    • 55' Everton lose the ball on the edge of the area, the ball bounces off Valencia for Owen who looks to go round the keeper but his touch is not great and he slices wide.
    • 53' Everton are having a good spell and Heitinga fires at VDS but his fellow Dutchman saves.
    • 52' Yakubu shows good feet to skip past Rafael and whip a cross in but Vidic is on hand to clear.
    • 50' Distin pops up in advanced role, he shrugs off Rafael and finds Saha but he drags his shot wide.
    • 48' Evra is having a field-day down the left, he flicks the ball into Giggs who helps it on to Owen but he is just offside.
    • 46' Everton bring on Yakubu for Gosling, Moyes had to make an attacking change.
    • 46' United get the second half underway.
    • 45' Half time and United have a lead they deserve for their dominance. Everton will need to change things if they are to get back into this.
    • 44' Everton's half is summed up as Saha takes down a pass beautifully and looks to break, but he is crowded out and with no support United clear.
    • 43' A delightful flick with the outside of the boot from Rooney sets Owen free but the angle becomes too tight and Howard smothers.
    • 40' Fellaini goes into the book for a naughty foul on Fletcher. That takes him over the threshold and he will miss the next game, Hull i think.
    • 37' Heitinga goes up for a challenge with Vidic and comes down with claret streaming down his face. A stray elbow, which was accidental caught the Dutchman. A bit of treatment and he's okay.
    • 36' Cahill is booked for a handball.
    • 35' GOAL UNITED! And what a strike by Fletcher. The cross is whipped in by Evra, Valencia nods it to the edge of the box and Fletcher gets his leg over the ball and crashes his shot into the top corner.
    • 33' It's getting towards that time of year again, Old Trafford rings out with 'On the first day of Christmas...Eric Cantona'. Time for the earplugs.
    • 30' Half an hour gone and Everton have weathered the early storm, but you get the impression United have gears at their disposal.
    • 26' Rafael is the first man into the book, as he rugby tackles Saha to stop him advancing down the left.
    • 22' Everton are getting a little more adventurous and Rodwell goes for the curler from 25 yards but it is well wide.
    • 20' CHANCE! Everton get men forward, Baines whips in a cross that is defelected to Saha who swivels and shoots but the effort lacks power and VDS saves.
    • 19' A raking ball from Neill finds Saha who plays a 1-2 with Cahill only to handball. This time the ref spots a handball from a French striker.
    • 16' United are asking questions now and Giggs shoots on goal from 20 yards but Howard makes the save.
    • 15' CHANCE! Evra dashes down the flank and picks out Rooney, he goes for the shot first time with the outside of the boot but the connection is poor and goes wide. It was a chance for a player of his quality.
    • 15' Rooney flicks the ball on for Valencia but he is tracked back by Baines who makes an excellent tackle. The way Everton are set up they will need plenty more of that defensive desire.
    • 13' Fellaini picks up the ball and goes on a run, but is crowded out by three defenders. A shrug of the shoulders from the Belgian towards his team-mates tells the story. No desire from Everton.
    • 12' Fantastic awareness from Giggs who spots the run of Owen and simply allows the ball to run beyond him, his dummy fools the defender, but Owen's return pass is cleared. Giggs might be getting on a bit but he's still got it, whatever 'it' is.
    • 10' Neat play from Rooney who creates space and seeks out Owen but his pass is slightly under-hit and Everton clear.
    • 9' It could be a long, lonely evening for Saha who is beig asked to plough a lone furrow against a side who are dominating play.
    • 6' Fletcher shows the attacking-midfield skills of Kaka as he glides past his marker and delivers the ball to Valencia. His cross is cleared as far as Rooney who fires a shot wide. Fletcher must be a shoo-in for the Olympic side, he must get preference for the team given Scotland are rubbish.
    • 6' Evra dinks the ball in for Rooney but it's too high and Everton clear. Rooney gives Evra a mouthful, telling him to play the ball to feet.
    • 3' United spring forward and Owen is involved, he flicks the ball through for Valencia and Baines has to smuggle the ball behind. Baines is quite clearly tripped by Valencia but the ref awards a corner. They smuggle the said corner clear, thankfully for the ref.
    • 1' Everton launch an early attack but Saha's touch is awful and Carrick tidies up.
    • 1' We've had the obligatory handshakes and Everton get us underway.
    • - The rain is lashning down in the north west but it's not dampening the spirits as the crowd welcome the players on to the Old Trafford pitch.

  11. If the rest of the team start taking whatever young Darren ‘ The Headless Chicken ‘ Fletcher is on, then we should have no worries for the next 20 years either. He used to be our handicap to make it fair for the other teams. Ferguson obviously saw something in the boy that the rest of us didn’t. I’ve been nicknaming him ‘Kingpin’ for the last 5 or 6 years and unbelievably it’s actually becoming true!!

From Stevie O Jay, on Sun 22 Nov 2:38AM
  12. If Chelski were flying they’d be 11 points ahead. We played Chelski off the park in their own backyard. That’s what I thought they’d do to us. I thought before the game that we’d lose 2 or 3 nil. They got the goal that shouldn’t have been and if we’d stuck our chances away, it’d be us who are one point ahead of Chelski.

Luck? That’s an awful lot of luck over the past 19 years or so. What is it again? … 3 pts for a lot of luck, 2pts for so, so luck and 0pts for no luck at all. Poor Chelski, they’re so unlucky.

After 13 games last season we had 25 pts. This season after 13 games we have 28 pts.

After 13 games last season Chelski had 34 pts. This season after 13 games Chelski have 33 pts.

I make that last season after 13 games Chelski were 9 points ahead of United.

This season after 13 games Chelski are only 5 points ahead.

Chelski fans, you’re beginning to believe your own hype and to sound like your deluded cousins, Man City and Loserpool.

Chelski flying? …. Who cares? As I said before see you back here in May, we’ll see who’s right and we’ll see who’s wrong.

  15. really glad to see manchester united showing a great performance. there was a great understanding between the players, the passing was excellent, and we took our opportunities in front of goal. Winning like this really helped us forget what happend to us against chelsea and liverpool, and we will step up our game and win our 4th consecutive title. i am really happy with fletchers performances right now and valencia is getting better. thanks. 18. Manchester United is the most successful club in EPL!
A club that had won everything.....EPL, Champion League, Supercup, World Club Cup, etc
A club that had won the EPL/Football League 1st Div (1892-1992) TWICE 3 times straight, 1998-2000 and 2006-2008 and if ManU wins this year EPL, then, ManU is the first ever club to win EPL 4 times in a row!
Chelsea better than ManU?? Nope, cos Chelsea NEVER win the Champion League!
The only club that could compared with the success of ManU is Liverpool but, Liverpool has not win the EPL (since EPL was formed in 1992) for 17 years!
    The FACTs does hurt sometimes.....
    From, ManU Fan.

  19. An expected result for Everton. We went to Old Trafford trying to ensure respectability and have come away with a bloody awful result. No more than we deserved and it just proves how second rate Everton have become. We are now a very ordinary side having spent a large amount of money in the summer and god knows what the rest of the season will bring. The game against Hull will be an interesting contest and I have to confess that I am quite pessimistic. Evertom have completely lost their way and I believe we will be fighting relegation in March.
