A Louis Saha goal condemned Portsmouth to their seventh consecutive Premier League defeat, as they lost 1-0 to Everton at Fratton Park. More
90+5' There's the final whistle, and Portsmouth have been beaten again!
90+4' BOATENG!!! Smashes a low right-foot shot but Howard is equal to it! Everton hanging on!
90+1' What's surprising is not that Marouane Fellaini has been booked, but that it is his first yellow card of the season.
90' Louis Saha trots off to a fine ovation from the travelling fans and Jo replaces him. Meanwhile Danny Webber is on for Portsmouth.
89' YEBDA!!!! Heads goalwards and Baines clears it off the line!!
88' A cynical pullback from Joseph Yobo, and that's a yellow card for the Nigerian.
82' Jack Rodwell goes into the book.
81' Kanu comes on for Michael Brown with 10 minutes to go.
75' Tony Hibbert comes on for Leon Osman.
73' Off goes Mokoena, replaced by Hassan Yebda.
72' Portsmouth corner from the right... Smith heads across goal for MOKOENA!!! HEADS AGAINST THE BAR!! What a chance!
70' A cross comes in from the Portsmouth right and Boateng goes down! The home side want a penalty but referee Wiley turns the appeal down!
67' The corner comes in for CAHILL!!! His header is cleared off the line!
66' Baines finds Fellaini, who is one of two players unmarked at the back but James tips his header over!
60' Pienaar is carried off on a stretcher (although he is sitting up) - Diniyar Bilyaletdinov replaces him.
57' Pienaar is struggling and limps off for some treatment. He would be a big miss for Everton.
51' BEN HAIM!!! He meets an inswinging free-kick with a glancing header and Howard saves with his left shoulder!!
46' Portsmouth get the second half under way, but the atmosphere around Fratton Park is quite subdued - it is like they have been kicked in the stomach so many times they now believe defeat is certain. Can their players prove them wrong?
45+2' Half-time, and Everton lead by a goal to nil. Portsmouth have done well, but are being made to pay for another individual error.
42' GOAL!! Louis Saha gives Everton the lead! Heitinga hits a long, diagonal ball, Kaboul misjudges the flight and Saha controls and finishes with supreme confidence!
40' Boateng control inside the Everton box and ignores two team-mates to go himself; he spins past Distin but blazes his left-foot shot from a tight angle.
38' Fellaini!! The ball is clipped in with James scrambling, but the Belgian's low header is saved by the goalkeeper's feet! Great opportunity for Everton.
34' A slick move from Portsmouth culminates as Smith plays in Dindane brilliantly and the Ivorian's shot forces an excellent save from Howard! Best chance of the game!
21' Saha tries an ambitious shot, juggling the ball 25 yards out before swivelling and hitting a 25-yard half-volley that whistles a yard or so over!
10' Boateng plays a superb reverse pass to Dindane cutting inside from the left... he shoots from the angle but sends it wide!
9' CAHILL!! Attempts an ambitious left-foot volley from long range, and James dives to his right to make an acrobatic save, before scrambling to dive on the rebound.
1' Game on! Everton kick off, playing from right to left in black kit with pink trim. Pompey are in blue shirts, white shorts and red socks.

Everton are a small club are they did you know they have spent more seasons in the top flight than any other club.
Arsenal contrary to popular opinion have been relegated even though they have been in the 'First Division' a long time they were only promoted before World War One
when the league was extended and they never actually finished in a promotion spot.

Portsmouth is gonna be in the championship division next season! LOL :P

Boateng seems to be doing alright. Dindane as well.
Up American Keepers!!

portsmouth were very unlucky in this match after dominating most of it. if they keep up with this form they will start getting some points soon. good luck pompey

Pompey are better than their results but Everton played well enough to beat them. Everton are returning to form but on another occasion the result could have been a draw.

Pompey on track to become the first ever club to be RELEGATED before Xmas !!

Again Portsmouth lose by the Odd Goal
They have scored plenty of goals in the Carling Cup I believe it is seven in two games and will surely win a league game soon.
