    • 90+3 That's the final whistle! Not the greatest game but a superb start for Fulham, who normally have a poor away record but have got themselves off to a three-point start this season. It goes from bad to worse for Pompey, meanwhile, as they try to solve their financial problems by finding a new buyer. They need to sort this soon though - the current team looks relegation fodder.

    • 89' Long ball into the Fulham box is only half-cleared, Kanu is in there making a nuisance of himself, he turns and shoots but blocked again AND IT DROPS TO NUGENT BUT HE HAMMERS IT OVER!!
    • 87' Pompey come forward and Mullins has a crack from the edge of the D but a block and it drops to Wilson on the right but he fires wide! Did that initial shot hit an arm? Kanu thinks so.

    • 66' Nasty, late tackle from behind on Etuhu from Mokoena who will be a lucky man to stay on the pitch but miraculously no card! Etuhu is in some pain and needs the medics. He is made of a seven-foot lump of iron though and gets up.
    • 65' Piquionne on the left now, he plays it back to Belhadj who cuts inside and rifles it in low, should be easy for Schwarzer but Kranjcar slides in and gets a touch but the Fulham keeper holds on.

    • 63' Zamora gets it on the right and swings over a crossbut Distin slips and it lands at the feet OF JOHNSON WHO MUST SCORE BUT HE SOMEHOW PUTS IT WIDE! He was shocked to get that chance and, faced with only James to beat, he fluffed his lines.
    • 62' Another good short passing move by Pompey as it's cut inside from the left to Kranjcar, who moves towards goal and hammers a rising drive on target but it spins just over with Schwarzer admittedly covering.
    • 61' The corner is swung far post but nodded away by Gera. Fulham complete the clearance but, right now, Pompey are seeing a lot more of the ball and keeping it low.
    • 60' A counter could be on for Portsmouth here as Piquionne gets in down the left but Hughes is back to clear and it rebounds away for a corner.
    • 59' Johnson is in space on the left, he races through but Kaboul gets back, Johnson turns away from him but his ball to Zamora sells him a bit short and the move breaks down.
    • 58' It's hard to see where Pompey are going to get something at the moment, going long all to often with Fulham - occasional lapses of concentration aside - organised enough to deal with anything aerial.

    • 45+1 Half-time and Fulham lead 1-0 thanks to a fluke goal from Bobby Zamora. Not the greatest game so far but Fulham have had the better chances and should be 2-0 up but for JamesÂ’s save from Zamora.
    • 45' 45 Good defending by Hangeland to calmly play the ball out one-touch. Diop is booked for a foul on Murphy.
    • 44' Konchesky does really well to skin Kaboul on the left but his cross is comically bad and flies out wide almost for a throw.
    • 43' Zamora with a foul in the middle of the park as Pompey try to build using something other than a long ball. I say that and then Kaboul launches it up-field, well past Piquionne and into Schwarzer's arms.

Portsmouth go down the other end and Piquionne is in but his dangerous looping cross is acrobatically plucked out of the air, one-handed by Schwarzer.
    • 39' Straight into the wall by Belhadj though, hacked away and in long from Kaboul but Schwarzer rises to pluck from the air.
    • 38' A needless foul by Hughes, leading with the forearm while heading away from Piquionne, free-kick to Pompey left-centre around 28 yards out.
    • 37' Throw Fulham hemmed in at right-back, Pantsil to take, it's a poor one and Pompey could be in here but hacked away from the penalty spot by Hangeland.

    • 33' A chance for the Whites to break down the right, Zamora is in space and Johnson pulls away but a poor cross from Zamora who swings it aimlessly out for a throw.
    • 32' Fulham need to get on the ball again here, Pompey have bossed the last five-10 minutes as they come down the left again.
    • 31' The Kranjcar corner is headed clear for a throw, which likewise is cleared and it's back with James.
    • 30' Fulham try to launch an attack but high balls to Johnson never work, now Pompey break and Piquionne gets it just inside the box but the shot is blocked wide for a corner!
    • 29' Corner to Pompey on the right, Diston and Kaboul are up for it with Kranjcar to take... He swings a flat delivery into the six-yard box and right across the face of goal but no-one gets a touch on either side and Belhadj can finish but it spins away from him!     • 26' Portsmouth have had a pretty good spell these last few minutes without truly threatening. Fulham are just so well organised at the back.
    • 24' Played down the left for Piquionne to chase, he does well to get away from Pantsil and he gets the better of Hughes before drilling it low on goal but too close to Schwarzer and he holds on. Nice move from Piquionne, who has looked bright today.
    • 23' Fulham are camped in the Pompey half, knocking it about and playing keep-ball. A high one is swung over though and Konchesky loses out to the much bigger Kaboul.
    • 22' Cute backheel from Belhadj at left-back, the ball is spread wide to Kaboul who plays a crossfield pass but oh dear, far too high and long for Kranjcar hugging the left wing.
    • 21' Fulham are doing a much better job at keeping the ball on the ground with Pompey looking long wherever they can. Another faintly aimless ball flies into the Fulham box, too high for Piquionne and even over HangelandÂ’s head to swing out for a goal kick.

    • 19' After a promising start Portsmouth are on the rack now but they do get forward and force Hangeland into an awkward clearance out for a throw.
    • 18' Fulham have a free-kick on the right, won by Gera I think. Murphy swings it far post AND IN FLIES ZAMORA UNMARKED WITH A POWER HEADER BUT PALMED OVER BY JAMES!! Good save James, more for his reading of the ball than anything, Zamora made the wrong choice by heading towards the roof of the net when he should have looked down. Brilliant free-kick by Murphy.
    • 17' Shocking effort from the Croat, around 10 yards wide and five over the bar.
    • 16' Pompey get a free-kick around 30 yards out, straight from the kick-off, and Kranjcar will take it...
    • 15' Well then, he only scored twice in the league last season and almost got shipped out to Hull but Bobby Zamora - who Fulham fans love for his work-rate and team ability - gets 50 per cent of last year's total within a quarter of an hour of the new season.     • 14' The throw is taken by Johnson, quickly to Murphy who turns into space and slips a short diagonal ball in for Dempsey who is away from Diop and rifles in a low shot that takes a huge deflection off Zamora and it curls around the outstretched arm of the diving James and it trickles into the bottom right! Fulham lead and it's a free goal for Zamora!!
    • 13' Piquionne runs towards the Fulham area but the Frenchman has no support and is easily stood up by Hughes. Fulham counter and Johnson wins a throw off Kaboul down the left.
    • 12' Konchesky covers well to get to a ball down the channel ahead of Utaka, playing it back to Schwarzer who hoofs it downfield. Former Fulham man Diop tries an ambitious Hollywood ball but itÂ’s back with the Aussie keeper.
    • 11' Kaboul, playing as a makeshift right-back, gets the better of Konchesky but his cross is high and deep and flies out for a goal kick.
    • 10' Fulham come forward now as Murphy plays it into Zamora on the edge of the box. The big man holds it up and tries to roll Wilson but the Pompey defender stands up to him and Zamora falls as he tries the shot, which is blocked by Wilson.
    • 9' Good possession from Pompey as it's worked wide left to Belhadj on the overlap, good ball floated in for Piquionne but he gets the header all wrong, weak and well wide of the right-hand post.
    • 8' Utaka gets in down the right but a good slide tackle from Konchesky sees him bring the ball out too. Still with Pompey though as Konchesky blocks a cross and the hosts win a throw on the right wing.
    • 7' Corner in from the right then. It's a deep, high delivery and James reverses through a crowd of bodies but claims the ball.

  9. When are 'Yahoo' going to sort out the Pompey­ badge?? They are taking the piss now because it was­ changed at the beginning of LAST season. Yahoo, see­ comment 5 if you want to know what it looks like. I­ somehow think that if Man Utd or Chelsea etc changed­ their badge it would be updated immediately. Oh yeah­ and while you're at it we won the FA Cup in 1939 as­ well as 2008. So we have won it TWICE and not once as­ you state on the Portsmouth team page. Back to­ tomorrow's game. Unfortunately I think Fulham will­ win because they have had a good pre-season/Europa Cup­ campaign and will start the EPL season at a canter. ­ Pompey will do will do well to get a point. PUP.
