Darren Bent continued his scoring form by netting a freak goal that went in off a beach ball in a 1-0 win over Liverpool at the Stadium More
90'+7 There it is! All over! And Sunderland take all three points thanks to Darren Bent's eighth goal of the season in the fifth minute!
90'+3 Oooh! What a double save by Gordon! First to deny Kuyt and then Ngog on the follow up!
81' Here comes Ngog, at the expense of Babel. He's got just under 10 minutes to impress.
76' Oooh! Henderson fires just wide!
73' Liverpool make a change now... Voronin and Mascherano on for Spearing and Skrtel as Benitez looks to urge his team forward.
70' Sunderland break now! But Malbranque opts to go for goal when he should really look for Bent in the middle! Carragher gets back to make the challenge!
66' Fraizer Campbell comes on to replace the already departed Jones.
65' Jones is off... and Sunderland are down to 10 men for the time being.
61' OFF THE POST FROM BENT! It stems from a terrible back header by Skrtel... Reina fails to get there ahead of Bent, who rounds the keeper again, but is this time denied by the outside of the post, having taken it a little too wide!
58' Here comes the Dutchman, to a rousing welcome. Off goes Cattermole on a stretcher.
55' Bent's in here! Lovely through ball by Jones... he must score! No! As he rounds Reina and fires goalwards, the Spaniard sticks out a big hand and makes the block! Super keeping!
52' Reid looks like he'll be booked here... that really was a late challenge on Skrtel as the Liverpool defender moved forward.
47' Big hand ball shout in the Liverpool box! But referee Jones is having none of it and play goes on!
46' One change to tell you about at the break... McCartney has been replaced by Henderson for Sunderland.
46' Back underway on Wearside!
45'+4 There goes the whistle! And Sunderland take in a one-goal lead at the break, Darren Bent notching his eighth of the season, with a little help from a red balloon!
39' Oooh! Spearing fires inches over the bar at the other end! Cracking effort from the youngster!
38' Oooh! Bent! So close to a second! But his header from Bardsley's cross is glanced inches wide of the upright!
36' Jones is down again, this time clutching his shin following a sliding challenge by Carragher...
28' Kuyt goes up for an aerial challenge with Turner... the Sunderland man goes down and referee Mike Jones decides to book the Dutchman.
22' Bent gets a header on target from Reid's far post delivery! But it's straight at Reina and the score remains 1-0!
20' Reod fires the resulting free-kick into the wall... it falls to Malbranque who lashes it back towards goal! Off Johnson's shoulder and away!
8' Cana will be booked here for a wild lunge in Babel... that's his fourth of the season so far...
5' GOAL! DARREN BENT! Sunderland take the lead through who else but Bent! Liverpool fail to deal with a ball into the box... it falls to Bent at the far post and he strikes on goal! It appears to hit a red balloon in front of Johnson and the ball diverts off him and past Reina! That's eight for the season now for Bent! 1-0!

I wonder what Reina has to say about the beach ball sitting perfectly on the 6 yard line, where a goal kick should normally be taken from. Telling me the "beach ball" strolled - thanks to the wind - all the way from inside the goal to that spot and stayed there for so long that he didn't notice, is such a convenient excuse for ..........

beachball is making his debut today and could it be a lovely pass from bent reina could do nothing about it
he was in a lovely position and an unstopible shot to finish it off

haha actually the beach ball wasnt offside, because it was an own goal, it was wearing liverpool red and the badge, SUNDERLAND 1 - 0 LIVERPOOL (Beach ball, o.g 5) lol.

why was reina watching the red ball,he"d played 5 minutes with the white one,he definately needs to go to spec-savers.

unfair rsult.....

Did you hear ??
Man City Have made an outrageous bid to sign a totally unknown, but DEADLY striker !!
whats his name i hear you say ?
HE is the liverpool BEACHBALL !!!!
sum goal !!!
Actually, the goal should have never have stood, cos, the beachball was in an offside position !!!!

Well I hate to remind you scousers but I did say before the season started that Liverpool would be lucky to finish in the top four this season. I also said that Man Utd were so far above the rest of the premier league that the loss of Ronaldo and Tevez would not affect us in the Premiership, except to let other teams get a bit closer, but it would be felt in the Champions League. Once again it appears that I have got it right.

looks like sunderland was having a beach of a time HA! HA! Plus man city have just put a £30 million pound bid in for the beach ball

reina
johnson skrtel carragher agger
mascherano aurelio
benayoun babel reira
kyut
subs: caveliari, insua, lucas, voronin, ngog. spearing, kelly

this lose is to blame rafas tactics. without torres and gerrard liverpool's only hope are the likes mascherano, riera, kuyt and benayoun(sometimes babel)
so why did rafa put mascherano and reira on the bench and let spearing and crappy lucas play. outrageous.
this might sound foolish but johnson likes to attack. so why was he a fullback rather than in defensive midfield where skrtel was.
for that match my line up would be
reina
skrtel carragher agger
johnson mascherano aurelio
benayoun babel reira
kyut
subs: caveliari, insua, lucas, voronin, ngog. spearing, kelly
wat do u think guys

fergie would have demanded a public inquiry

Why not ask Alex Ferrgusson to intervene, after all he is the tail that wags the FA dog!!!

Why not ask Alex Ferrgusson to intervene, after all he is the tail that wags the FA dog!!!

480 would you say the same for alonso's goal that was given at anfield in the C/L! it wasn't over the line fact ! but the law says unless it is proven to be over the line it cant be given ??????? very poor argument ,it might have beat reina anyway

it was a liverpool fan who put it on the pitch...poor little boy he must be devasted now....

im feeling so balloonatic:)
