    • 90+2' GOAL!! NANI!!!! He finds the back of the net, curling a relatively weak effort past the statuesque Kirkland!
    • 90+1' Yellow card Paul Scharner for an argicultural tackle from behind on Berbatov.
    • 90' Nani strikes a powerful free-kick, but sends it high over the bar.
    • 89' The stadium is emptying at speed, and the only sound is now coming from the visiting fans.
    • 87' Sinclair again!! He has looked lively since coming on, and brings another good save from Foster from a tight angle on the right.
    • 85' GOAL!! Michael Owen!! Runs onto a cute through ball from Nani and clips a deft left-foot shot in off the far post! His first goal for Manchester United!
    • 84' Berbatov drills a low cross in front of goal from the left, but the supposedly predatory Owen is snoozing at the edge of the box.
    • 82' United play a corner short from the left. Gibson shoots from range, but it is a tame pea-roller and Kirkland saves.
    • 80' We may not have heard the last of that. Rodallega and Vidic may both find themselves in trouble.
    • 79' There is an altercation there and referee Webb has to physically restrain Rodallega from attacking Vidic! Unbelievable!
    • 78' Sinclair cuts in from the right and fires a shot high over the bar.
    • 77' Rodallega tests Foster with a shot from the edge of the box... held.
    • 76' Rodallega slides in late on Foster, who reacts angrily. Yellow card to the Colombian.
    • 75' Darron Gibson belts a curler from 25 yards, and Kirkland holds it.
    • 74' Get this: Jonathan Trott has got a hundred. Played. Fifth Test: LIVE
    • 73' Wigan changes: Jason Scotland and James McCarthy for Charles N'Zogbia and Mohamed Diame.
    • 72' Well, this is Owen's chance. He comes on for Rooney, while Darron Gibson replaces Paul Scholes. AND John O'Shea comes on for Jonny Evans. A triple substitution.
    • 71' Figueroa hacks Berbatov down with a frustrated and tired challenge.
    • 69' Wigan continue to come forward through Jordi Gomez and the ever-dangerous Rodallega, but you cannot imagine them conjuring any sort of comeback.
    • 68' Dimitar Berbatov has been superb today, and that may have put paid to any hopes Michael Owen had of breaking into the United first-team.
    • 66' It is surely game over now. United have been devastating since half-time, and this might just kick-start their season.
    • 65' GOAL!!! Three for United, and it's Wayne Rooney again!! Antonio Valencia and Dimitar Berbatov combine to find Rooney on the left, and his shot goes in at the near post via a generous deflection from Mario Melchiot.
    • 63' Photos from the DW Stadium: Match gallery
    • 62' Wigan substitution: Scott Sinclair replaces Jason Koumas.
    • 60' What a couple of minutes' action! But the upshot is that Manchester United are two goals to the good at the DW Stadium.
    • 58' GOAL!!! DIMITAR BERBATOV!! It's two for United and it's a brilliant goal!! Rooney plays a one-touch pass for Scholes, who lofts the ball over the top, Berbatov lifts it over Kirkland, collects his own lob and finishes from six yards!
    • 58' RODALLEGA SO CLOSE TO THE EQUALISER!!! Koumas drives a diagonal cross and the Colombian hits a looping header that Foster just keeps out!
    • 57' That is Wayne Rooney's 100th goal for Manchester United, and the relief is palpable!
    • 56' GOAL!!!! WAYNE ROONEY BREAKS THE DEADLOCK FOR MANCHESTER UNITED!! He heads in a Valencia cross from the right and the goal drought is over!

    • 51' United want a penalty after Rooney goes down under Scharner's challenge... nothing doing, says Howard Webb!

    • 49' Yellow card Evra for a crude trip on N'Zogbia.
    • 48' Now Wigan come away on the break as the ball is played through to Rodallega... Vidic nicks the ball away from him!
    • 47' Valencia heads down a cross from the left for ROONEY!! Miscues his volley and Berbatov's follow-up is blocked!
    • 46' United kick the second half off and immediately get forward, with the cap-wearing Kirkland punching away a cross from the left.
    • 45' Goalless at the end of an entertaining first half... but United's drought in front of goal continues.
    • 45+1' Just one minute of stoppage time to be played.
    • 45' Bramble brings Evra down and United come forward for the free-kick... out to Valencia on the right but again his cross is blocked.

    • 39' Another offside flag up against Wayne Rooney, who strays just beyong the last man as Fletcher plays it through.
    • 38' Valencia crosses again from the right...cleared as far as Scholes who finds Fletcher, and the Scot turns his man and hits a left-foot volley that is deflected for a corner.
    • 37' Berbatov lobs it to Scholes, helped on to Fletcher... cannot get his volley away.. what a goal that would have been!
    • 36' Wigan have a two-on-two here and the ball is with N'Zogbia... well tackled by Vidic!!
    • 35' Melchiot leaves his foot up after a challenge in midfield with Evra and catches the United left-back.
    • 34' Valencia clips a cross from the right to Rooney at the far post... he heads back across the face of goal but Wigan clear.
    • 32' Long ball over the top for Rooney, who traps it brilliantly and SHOOTS LOW!! SAVED BY KIRKLAND!

    • 25' The ball comes in from the left to the United box, and is helped messily along to Rodallega, who cannot make proper contact with his header.
    • 24' Neville slides through the back of Koumas and is lucky not to get booked.
    • 23' Berbatov!! Gets his head on a left-sided cross, but directs it straight at Kirkland.
    • 22' It's raining goals at the Emirates - find out what is happening here. Arsenal v Portsmouth

    • 20' A slight clash of heads between Rodallega and Evans, but the result is a Wigan corner.
    • 19' Yellow card Scholes for sliding through Jordi Gomez... at his age, it's probably fair to say he'll never learn.
    • 17' ROONEY!! He turns Bramble and fires a low right-footed shot straight at Kirkland.
    • 16' Valencia has got a reasonable reception from the Wigan fans on his return to the DW Stadium. Hardly repturous, but not overly hostile either.
    • 14' The visitors pass the round their own half in a pretty but inconsequential fashion.
    • 13' United might be two up by now, but Wigan have ridden their luck and have finally settled. A much more even game now.
    • 12' Good industry from Berbatov (no, really), who wins a throw on the United left. The move ends with Evra sending a cross into the side-netting.
    • 10' Neville concedes a free-kick on the Wigan left, 40 yards from the United goal... headed clear and the champions now break.

  9. ManU has not won or lost the title but we are comapring its with Arsenal? Wigan just could nopt hold up during the second half. ManU will lose so will Arsenal or any other team during the season. Let us see who wins the next game: ManU or Asenal. I think the best and consistant team Arsenal will win 3:2. I also hope for a more consistant refereeing.

  18. Dale A (463) read my comments thoroughly you dumbhead! I'm saying the MOST important thing is to get the max points.....like last season when ManU got 90 pts and goal difference (44 goals) against 2nd place Liverpool, 86 pts and goal difference (50 goals)!
That season, ManU was 3rd. Past history, Arsenal is nothing if compared with ManU. Since EPL was formed in 1992 (17 years), ManU champion 11 times, 3 times 2nd place and 3 times 3rd place. Arsenal, won 3 times, 2nd place 5 times and 3rd place twice!
