    • 4' The offside flag goes up against Ashley Cole, who has several hand gestures directed at him from the visitiing fans as he goes to collect the ball. The Stepney-born left-back gets no love from his fellow East Londoners then.
    • 3' Florent Malouda is played through by Didier Drogba's backheel... He's one-on-one with Robert Green... Hit right at the keeper and saved! A great chance for an early lead goes begging!
    • 2' Carlton Cole chests Lars Jacobsen's long ball into the path of Freddie Sears, but the forward's touch is a little heavy as he tries to surge into the box.

    • 17:25 HEAD-TO-HEAD: Chelsea and West Ham have met 31 times in the Premier League. Chelsea have won 17, West Ham nine and five draws. Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 11 league matches against West Ham, scoring in each match, since a 1-0 away defeat in May 2003 when Paolo Di Canio scored the only goal. when these two sides met at Upton Park in Septmeber, Michael Essien scored twice in a 3-1 win for the defending champions.
    • 17:20 Eurosport-Yahoo! pundit Jim White believes that West Ham need to take the threat of relegation more seriously: "I was at a function at Upton Park on Monday and the atmosphere there was a strange mix of bemusement and certainty. The players could not understand why they were in the position they were in. Plus they exuded a certainty that they would, somehow, get out of it." Read Jim's blog in full here
    • 17:15 Chelsea desperately need to win this match if they are to retain any hopes of retaining the title. Following Manchester United's win over Everton earlier in the day, victory over the Hammers would put Chelsea six points behind the Red Devils with four games left to play. With Wigan losing at Sunderland and Wolves drawing with Fulham, a win would lift West Ham off the bottom of the table and out of the relegation zone. Premier League table
    • 17:10 So, Fernando Torres starts a Premier League match on the bench for the fifth-straight game. Didier Drogba will spearhead th atack supported by Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda. West Ham are again without inspirational captain Scott Parker. Freddie Sears is handed a first league start since January.

  3. Chelsea are a sucker for other teams' leftovers.............Torres 91 goals in 249 appearances for Atletico, 81 goals in 142 appearances for Liverpool (Cost £26 million) and thus far 1 goal in 14 appearances for Chelsea (cost £50 million). Only difference now is that he is closing in on 30 and history shows that he cant stay fit for prolonged periods of time. I would be very surprised if he is more productive at Chelsea than he was at Liverpool simply because I cannot see him getting any better in the speed, fitness or youth department. Abramovich shops with the typical Knightsbridge and Bond Street mentality..................name and price tag are all that matter. For that kind of money this guy should be around a goal per game like Messi and Ronaldo. Despite the money, I dont think that Torres can ever again be in the same company as those guys. In fact Drogba is a far more successful player in the Primiership than Torres...................Roman obviously likes the smell of burning cash. LOL

  4. i was going to come on here and talk about how even though torres FINALLY scored doesn't mean hes back to his best imo stick a striker on the pitch as many times as he was and its inevitable that he will eventually score but im not going to go into that because all of that @#$% has over shadowed something bigger and its going to be hard to say this as a man utd fan but what a come back from chelsea the past few months have been.. ill be honest i was close to putting money on Chelsea not being in the top 4 this season.. should of known better with city thinking they can buy the league and arsenal 'the bottlers' fc

  6. Difference between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest?.....................About £2 Billion and 2 EUROPEAN CUPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL............only the cream of Europe get to lift the cup and you will never be in the company of Madrid, Barca, Liverpool, Ajax, Munich and Milan. Your rich owner will try his best bust there are things that money cant buy...........namely CLASS and HISTORY......of which your club has very little.

  10. Torres nearly got 2 assists He got a goal and an assist Bit of a glimpse of man of the match unfortunatly he didnt play long enough to be it. I think torres and anelka play well, and one more thing did anyone notice that when torres came on chelsea got 2 goals he set up malouda and he scored his first goal

Could he back to his form????

  13. Torres was a CLASS act at Liverpool, we will remain a Class act at Chelsea.
Lets not get carried away with Suarez, good player no doubt about that, but Torres pure CLASS.

  14. Noticed Sir Trevor Brooking at the game on Saturday:
Just wonder what he thought about the FILTHY LANGUAGE AND PERSONAL ABUSE pouring from every corner of the ground in the direction of Wayne Bridge. It was appalling, I have never heard such filth being directed at one player for many many years. The so called fans should be ashamed of themselves.
Just wonder what Sir Trevor thought about it, not a lot I dont suppose, as it was not directed at a camera, albeit the filth was echoing around each home that had the game on TV,

  16. As a neutral fan of an average championship side wanting to give an unbiased opinion, i can honestly say the resurgence of Chelsea fc of late has been mainly due to the class and workrate of Didier Drogba ,his performances of late have been outstanding at a time when Chelsea are talking of getting rid of him. The attack of malaria had a devastating affect on him and Chelsea season ,and i thought he would not recover, but he is proving me wrong week on week. Roman dont make the mistake you made with Ray Wilkins and plunge Chelsea back into mediocrity or Harry Houdini at Spurs [ said with affectoin] will surely pounce.
