Wayne Rooney ended his goal drought as Manchester United beat Premier League strugglers West Ham United 3-0 at Old Trafford. More
90+2' The final whistle goes, mercifully for West Ham who remain bottom of the table.
90+1' West Ham substitution: Junior Stanislas replaces Luis Boa Morte.
76' West Ham substitution: Frederic Piquionne replaces Kieron Dyer.
74' Manchester United substitutions: Chris Smalling, Michael Owen and Michael Carrick replace Jonny Evans, Dimitar Berbatov and Paul Scholes.
70' Berbatov celebrates his third goal of the season by whipping his shirt off, and gets a yellow card.
69' GOAL! O'Shea finds Nani in the box who clips the ball over to Berbatov at the far post, and the Bulgarian strikes with a lovely acrobatic volley! He's deserved that for his performance today.
61' West Ham substitution: Pablo Barrera replaces Julien Faubert. About time too.
58' Rooney turns past Upson but is tripped by his England colleague, who picks up the game's second booking for his troubles.
56' Faubert backheels the ball into the path of Dyer and the winger fires a strike off the outside of the post! Unlucky.
49' GOAL!! Nani receives the ball from Rooney, leaves Gabbidon on his backside and fires past Green from the edge of the box! Great goal from the Portuguese, and it looks like curtains for West Ham now.
46' No changes from either side as the second half gets underway!
45+2' Half-time is called, with Rooney getting on the scoresheet for the first time in over 18 hours of playing time.
45+1' West Ham barely getting out of their own half now. Giggs puts in a cracking tackle on Parker and then chips a weighted ball into the path of Nani, who dinks the ball over Green but over the bar too!
44' Noble finds Faubert in space on the right but the Frenchman is in an offside position.
43' Giggs jinks his way into the box before somehow darting a ball across for Berbatov, who has his half-volley blocked and then slices his effort on the rebound!
41' Fletcher has a dig from distance and it draws a wonderful save from Green! United have a corner, but it is repelled by the Hammers this time.
33' GOAL!! Rooney takes a very dodgy run-up, skipping too far to the side, but his spot-kick rolls into the bottom corner with Green diving the other way!
32' Scholes pings a ball out to Giggs on the left, and the Welsh wizard and is brought down by former United defender Jonathan Spector! Rooney will take this one...
28' Cole shrugs off Vidic but the Serb defender recovers and makes a great challenge. Cole has stayed down in the United box though, and is receiving treatment.
24' Berbatov deftly knocks O'Shea's long ball back into the path of Nani who hammers a rasping shot against the crossbar! Great effort from all involved there.
19' Noble loses control of the ball and upends Rooney as he desperately lunges to retrieve it. A booking for Noble.
16' The light shower in Manchester has quickly descended into an outright downpour. That should help open this match up a bit.
11' Rooney receives the ball, turns and heads for goal. His strike from 20 yards is right at Robert Green. It bounces right in front of the keeper, but he gathers comfortably.
8' Berbatov goes slightly too early in anticipation of Fletcher's through ball and is caught offside.

Man u u are real the chama(swahili word) means a big club and best club allover the world

bebatov and giggs i think are the best players including rooney

berbatov is comin bak 2 life, and u rooney try and surprise dis small rats

can anyone please tell me who was the captain on this game from utd side?

Wonder how many times we`re gonna hear those 2 words this season "PENALTY UNITED" same old same old

Yeah, sure, a penalty...

why is everyone wooing at ROONEY and making stupid comments and ruining insults on him? wasn't it through his effort that England qualified for the 2010 world cup. is he not the superstar that carried Man United on his shoulders all alone to attain the second spot last season?do u think MESSI, TORRES RONALDO and alot more stars had it the way they wanted?the @#$% that comes out of your mouths is so infuriating. kindly leave SUPER ROONEY TO CONCENTRATE because you are only frustrating him and it's affecting his carrier greatly.from AMANKWAH NKANSAH( REP) LONDON

what makes me laugh is that when rooney doesn't score for 11/12 games the excuses given for him are.. he works hard, he's not a natural scorer, he chases back. heskey doesn't score and its, he's rubbish, he's a donkey, he's past it. now i know heskey is way past it but he was actually the better of the 2 in the world cup, i think rooney is a very good premiership player but will never be the same for the national team,

i don't get this world class nonsense... look.. rooney is a very good player as is gerrard and torres but world class? world class to me is the brazillian ronaldo at his best, zidane, maldini.... rooney and the otheres couldn't and never will be able to lace their boots.. ever. it's banded about way too much. i think the premiership is the most 'exciting' league but not hte best technically hence the problems at the world cup. i dont feel sorry for players like rooney though as they build themselves up as much as the press with these stupid gladiator style adverts like they are some kind of football gods. this by the way is from a manu fan

rooney bad

I wonder, those who are now shouting "Get rid of Rooney, he is fat, useless and overrated (that's one spells this word, for the information of some people down there), play Berbatov", are you the same idiots who were shouting weeks ago "Get rid of Berbatov, play the wonderful Rooney"?

only one goal from rooney in this season

Good game for MAN UTD !!!
Great performance from Berbatov, Nani, Rooney
Gigs, Scholes and all others!!!
Next step: MAN UTD must win against Everton !!!
Expect great play from Rooney & all others!!!
Glory Glory MAN UTD !!!

Yahoo,,,,,, Why not just ban the clowns that have comment hidden due to lack of brain power,,,, er, I mean low rating?
