    • 90+3 A drop ball in midfield which Shawcross sportingly knocks back to Spurs.
    • 90+2 I assume the three minutes added time will be extended after Sidibe's injury and that bit of controversy.
    • 90+1 Well then. Stoke are stil ranting at the ref and who can blame them. Tuncay is asking the linesman just what he gets paid for. That was behind the line. Robbed.
    • 90' OFF THE LINE! Crouch I think! Collins powers the header in, tipped off the post by Gomes, Walters heads it diving in, Crouch blocks it on the line, with his chest, and that was over the line! Surely! But no goal! Stoke are apoplectic!
    • 89' Brilliant from Tuncay to find Walters, now wide right and pinged in, half-cleared, Etherington can shoot, blocked though, he gets it on the left and wins a corner. Phew.

    • 43' A lull in play you ask? Yes! Possibly a bit leggy after having a right old go for the first half, the game takes a mini-breather as Spurs line up a goal kick.
    • 42' Brilliant tackle on Crouch by Collins after Bale’s cross dropped to him in the box. The whistle goes anyway, Crouch handled. Well, he didn’t, it hit his chest, but that’s the decision.
    • 41' Tottenham putting some pressure on Stoke in the latter stages of the half as Huth’s backpass forces Sorensen into a rushed clearance for a throw.
    • 40' In trying to prevent the corner Huth hands it straight to Bale, who crosses but it lands for Corluka, who looks a bit giddy that far forward. Stoke clear.
    • 39' Walters knocks a long one down to Etherington but he was climbing all over Dawson according to the ref.

    • 30' WHAT A GOAL! GARETH BALE WITH A BRILLIANT FAR-POST VOLLEY! Ooooh! Lennon does well on the right to wriggle into a crossing position but Bale has it all to do - and boy does he do it. He just wraps his left boot around the ball and swerves it inside the top right. Wow.
    • 29' interplay between Delap and Fuller but Spurs clear the latter’s cross. They slow it down now to take the edge of the frantic pace Stoke are setting.

    • 26' GOAL STOKE! FULLER! Spurs fail to clear the corner and Fuller poke the loose ball in the box with his right foot into the right side of goal. Gomes is furious. Rubbish defending. Kaboul’s attempted clearance of Etherington’s corner is derisory, as is Huddlestone’s marking of Fuller.

    • 19' FREAK GOAL SPURS! In off Bale’s face after Crouch’s goal-bound header is cleared off the line by Shawcross. Brilliant build-up play from Lennon though, who cuts in from the left with a superb touch, beats three men and clips a lovely diagonal pass that initially puts Bale in, whose shot is parried and spins into Crouch’s path, whose header hits Shawcross's knee and goes in off Bale's mug.
    • 18' Fuller with a flick-on into Walters but Dawson reads it to clear. If he was quicker, Dawson would be world class. Alas, he is not.

    • 14' Great determination by Bale down the left but he is closed out by Huth and Shawcross, spooning the cross out for a goal kick. Shawcross seemed to pull his shirt, and left him in a heap with a slightly late tackle, but no action. Clumsy.

    • 12' It’s long throw time! But Delap, oddly, takes it short. Aha, a training-ground routine as Huth then pumps it into the box, Spurs barely clear, swung back in again from the left now and it drops to DELAP AT THE FAR POST but he smashes the volley across Gomes and wide!
    • 11' Palacios gets caught in possession, not for the first time this week, but well played Assou-Ekotto to come across and clear. Almost a slick one-two between Crouch and Lennon but Lennon misses the return and it’s hacked away by Whelan.

  4. A referee who must have received a liitle extra to miss­ seeing a 100% goal from 4 to 5 yards away from the­ action. Stoke must realise they need to offer more­ money to the incompetent Chris Foy.
