    • 24' Good play by Richardson and Malbranque on the left but Kompany slides in and City clear.
    • 23' Milner does well to drag two defenders across and find Tevez on the edge of the box, but his lay-off to Yaya is loose and Sunderland clear. El-Mohamady wins a throw on the right.
    • 22' Lescott is almost playing as a winger, looking a touch dizzy up there as he tries but fails to combine with Tevez and Milner.
    • 21' Malbranque goes down heavily but no foul. Now Tevez, edge of the Sunderland box, goes down but again no foul.
    • 20' City counter as Yaya Toure bursts into the box but Cattermole recovers to put it behind for a corner. Milner plays it far post, everyone misses it and it lands at the feet of Kompany but his rising half-volley is blocked.
    • 19' Henderson and El-Mohamady combine on the right, the Egyptian is free on the wing now but Henderson tries the cross and it’s blocked.
    • 18' Was that the worst miss you've seen this season? Antolin Alcaraz's for Wigan against Spurs was rotten too, that's a pair of howlers in the first few weeks of the campaign.
    • 17' Clever reverse pass from Johnson but Tevez is beaten to it by Mignolet.

    • 13' I have to say that this match has started in lukewarm fashion, City particularly pretty slow out of the blocks.

    • 11' Hart claims a fairly aimless long ball with confidence and orders his defence out. Easy to see why he’s preferred ahead of Given – the Irishman is a superb shot-stopper but at times last season City’s defence didn’t know who they were and Hart is a very good organiser.
