    • - Don't forget you can watch highlights of this match, along with every Premier League game, from 00:01 on Monday morning (UK only).
    • 90+7 Finally, referee Phil Dowd blows the whistle for full time and West Brom, despite all the odds take the bragging rights away from this West Midlands derby
    • 90+5 We're into the fifth minute of extra time for some reason and Roy Hodgson is nervously pacing on the sideline, desperately yelling for the the referee to blow the whistle
    • 90' The clock clicks over into extra time, of which there will be four added minutes, but Villa look a beaten team
    • 87' West Brom are all over Villa now as Odemwingie sends the ball goalward from the right side of the box. Friedel looks a little rattled but the ball whizzes just over his crossbar and Villa remain just the one down
    • 84' GOAL! Mulumbu, just after being booked, picks up the ball just inside the area turns and dinks it round Friedel to hand 10-man West Brom the lead. MULUMBU SHOULD HAVE JUST WON THIS MATCH FOR THE HOSTS
    • 82' Another scintilating save from Carson as he turns a low ball around his left post, diving down to it after a shot from Downing on the edge of the area.
    • 80' Villa will be kicking themselves if they come away from this match without three points. West Brom have barely been in an attacking position since Scharner was sent off and yet Villa remain on level terms with their hosts
    • 76' Walker is caught offside as he runs down the left before looking to square the ball to Bent in the middle. Bent had taken his foot off the gas slightly though and Tamas got there first
    • 73' Agbonlahor is the latest player to find his name entered into the referee's book as he brings down Mulumbu
    • 71' Agbonlahor does very well to control the ball with his chest before having plenty of time to fire the ball towards the goal, only to see it blocked by Marrison. And Carson quickly recovers to intercept a Young cross from the right
    • 67' Somehow Young manages to head wide of the left post despite getting a clean touch to the ball and also having all the time in the world from only 6 yards out. Villa really should be back in front by now and it appears only a matter of time
    • 63' Young forces Carson into another cracking save as he unleashes a shot from 30 yards out and keeper does well to turn the ball around the post and behind for a corner
    • 62' WEST BROM ARE DOWN TO 10-MEN as Paul Scharner is sent off for a second yellow. The Beggies midfielder has been threatening to get himself sent off for some time as he physical challenges continued despite the first yellow. This time he wrestled Petrov to the ground and he is rightly given his marching orders
    • 60' A huge scrappy goal as first Paul Scharner and then Simon Cox have a shot blocked before the ball falls for Odemwingie at the far post at the Nigerian toes the ball into the top of the net
    • 60' GOAL! Odemwingie levels things up for West Brom!
    • 56' West Brom put up a penalty shout as Odemwingie hits the deck after a smidgeon of pressure from Clark and referee Phil Dowd rightly waves play on
    • 53' Downing can do little with it though as he careers the ball into the wall and West Brom recover to clear without Carson being tested
    • 53' Reo-Coker, largely annonymous so far today, is brought down by Scharner (already on a yellow) and Villa are awarded a promising free kick about 25 yards out and in the middle of the pitch
    • 51' Richard Dunne and Gonzalo Jara go off for Villa and West Brom repsectively, both having picked up knocks, albeit in separate incidents. They are replaced by Ciaran Clark and Gabriel Thomas
    • 49' Young makes another fantastic run into the West Brom area but finds himself at the goal-line before he knows it and fails to find any of his support men as he attempts to pull the ball back into the centre of the box
    • 46' West Brom get things back underway for the second half ...
    • HT That's the end of the half and it could honestly go either way in the second. Both side's have had their threatening periods and but for a moment of abberation from Meite, things would probably still be all square.
    • 45' Bent can't seem to get his legs in quite the right place and resembles a giraffe with flailing limbs everywhere as he tries to get something, anything on the Young's cross. Any contact at all would have made that quite a tricky one for Carson but as it is the ball cruises through without any trouble.
    • 43' Vela can't quite get the ball up over the wall and back down again before it sails over the crossbar. Friedel wasn't really challenged there at all as Vela's couldn't keep the ball down
    • 42' There's a clash just outside the area between Scharner and Dunne and West Brom have a free kick out of it right on the edge of the area. It's a dangerous spot this and Vela is prowling around the ball with relish
    • 39' We're back to how we started now with Villa all over West Brom and the home side looking increasingly desperate in their attempts to defend their net. Carson is keeping them in this one at the moment, as he collects a Downing cross from the right wing
    • 38' Bent thinks he may have doubled Villa's lead when he controls the ball on the penalty spot, turns and lifts it over the approaching Carson's shoulder. But the England man was clearly offside by a yard or so as West Brom stepped up thinking they had cleared the ball
    • 36' Carson is called into action again as Bent loiters at the far post awaiting a great cross from Walker. It was curling back out towards Bent, who would've have had a job to miss with his header, but the ball just bent towards Carson and it was enough for the Baggies keeper to get a fingertip to it and turn it over his bar
    • 34' Dunne makes a great interception to deny Cox a chance to go one-on-one with the keeper, albeit to the right of the goal, the Villa defender not only doing enough to get the ball to safety but also tripping Cox with the follow through
    • 31' Luke Young makes an interesting attempt at a bicycle kick on the far side of the penalty area, looking to lob the ball back towards the penalty spot. But all he succeeds in doing is thwacking Meite in the head over his shoulder and it'll be a clearance free kick for West Brom
    • 28' Odemwingie is livid as he goes to ground under what he thought was an overly-rough challenge from Collins. But the flag is up for offside (a marginal decision, Luke Young may just have been playing him onside) and he won't get a free kick this time
    • 25' Carlos Vela latches on to a great through ball but his first touch is an awkward one and take him further awat from goal, the Mexican lofting his acutely angled shot over the bar as a result
    • 23' Villa haven't looked threatening for about 15 minutes now as Ashley Young looks to put that right with a run into the box from the left wing. But there are plenty of West Brom shirts around him and he ends up floating a ball well wide and high of the far post
    • 20' James Collins is in a spot of bother and looks as though he may have to come off. He went down in the box during that corner, in a fairly innocuous looking turn, and is now hobbling about the park. Friedel had little trouble in collecting the corner but and Villa escape unscathed
    • 19' Ooooo! Mulumbu is given acres of space about 30 yards out. His first touch is actually quite heavily and the ball runs a metre or so away from him. But no Villa man picks it up and in one stride Mulumbu has covered the distance and belted the ball goalwards. It's a curling effort and Friedel does very well to palm it away for a corner. That was heading into the top corner
    • 16' It's all West Brom right now as they attack down the left with Morrison put a dangerous, floating cross into the box. It is too high for Dunne to head away but Odemwingie is not quite in the right place to latch on to it at the far post.
    • 13' There are a few signs now that West Brom are beginning to settle as Jara tries to play Odemwingie in with a long, low ball through the centre of the pitch. He just puts a touch too much pace on it, however, and it races through to Friedel, who collects with relish
    • 10' Agbonlahor comes screaming down the pitch before charging into Gonzalo Jara and barging him off the ball. The sometime England man is a little fortunate there not to concede a free kick as he made no attempt to get to the ball until after he had removed Jara. But as it is Jara stays on his feet and it ends in a throw for the Baggies
    • 7' West Brom are rattled as Hodgson looks on through his fingers. Stiliyan Petrov decides to try his luck from the edge of the area, more just to see if he can test Scott Carson. And the Baggies keeper spills the ball, only just managing to dive on to it again before the fast-approaching Darren Bent gets there eyeing a classic poacher's goal
    • 5' There was muted celebration from both the Villa players and also fans after that goal, all of them seemingly disbelieving of what they have just seen!
    • 4' GOAL! It's a horror show from Abdoulaye Meite as, with no pressure on him whatsoever, he turns Stewart Downing's cross into the back of the net. It was a decent, if somewhat awkward volley from the Baggies man actually, just a shame it was into his own net!
    • 3' Walker has a very speculative shot from the right wing and it sails over the bar. In fairness it may have been a pass meant to go across the front of goal but if that is the case, it was a shocking pass as the only place it was going was out of play
    • 2' Villa win the first corner of the day, in a defensive position, and manage to ge things back on track by booting upfield - a tactic that seems to be employed by both side in the early stages of this clash
    • 1' We are underway at the Hawthorn's with visitors Aston Villa kicking things off ...
    • 14:58 Villa caretaker boss McAllister has made just one change from the side which drew at home to Stoke, Gabriel Agbonlahor comes back into the starting line-up in place of Emile Heskey, who is even not on the bench
    • 14:57 Roy Hodgson is forced into make three changes to the Baggies side which drew 2-2 at Tottenham. Skipper Chris Brunt and winger Jerome Thomas (both hamstring) and defender Steven Reid (calf) are all ruled out, with James Morrison, Simon Cox and Gonzalo Jara coming in.
    • 14:55 Villa have conceded in each of their last 18 PL away matches – the club’s longest ever PL run without an away clean sheet and longest in the top flight in 27 years.
    • 14:51 None of the four West Midlands derby matches held in 2011 in the Premier League have been won by the home team. Only two of the nine held this season have been won by the home club, one by West Brom and one by Aston Villa.
    • 14:46 West Brom have not won in their last five top flight home matches against Aston Villa, losing the last two, since the victory in 1985.
    • 14:42 Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last 13 league matches against West Brom, winning 2-1 in each of the last three PL meetings. Their only defeat in the last 15 was 1-0 at the Hawthorns in old Division One in April 1985.
    • 14:37 These two clubs have met nine times in the Premier League. West Brom have won none, Aston Villa five and four draws.
    • 14:32 The club have picked up eight points from five West Midlands derby matches this season – more than any other club. They lost one of their last 18 PL derby matches against West Midlands clubs – 1-0 at home to Wolves in their last match against ones of these clubs.
    • 14:27 Roy Hodgson has already beaten Aston Villa this season – his Liverpool side winning 3-0 at Anfield in December. In total, he has won five of eight career matches against them, losing twice.
    • 14:22 Just one point and one place separates these two west midlands sides in the Premier League - Gary McAllister's men (McAllister deputising for Gerard Houllier once again) sitting in 13th with 41 points and Roy Hodgson's side in 14th with 40 points
