Liverpool missed out on the chance to move up to sixth in the Premier League table after they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Tottenham. More
90+4' The final whistle goes, and it's yet another draw at Anfield for Liverpool! It's a point that Spurs definitely earned with a gritty display.
87' Spurs substitution: Danny Rose replaces Kranjcar.
86' Suarez takes his turn to get a header on a Liverpool free-kick, but he can't trouble Friedel either.
85' Bale beats the offside trap and he's one-on-one with Reina! The Welshman tries to finish through the keeper's legs but the Spaniard makes the block! Bale should have done better there with what was Spurs' best chance of the game.
76' Skrtel upends Bale with a nasty challenge from the side. The Slovakian leapt in there and caught on the ankle. Yellow card for him. Could have been worse.
74' Spurs clear the corner but they are pulled out of shape as Liverpool come again. Great cross from Kelly and Carroll takes a touch and fires over the bar! He should have tested Friedel from that range!
72' Liverpool substitution: Stewart Downing replaces Bellamy.
71' Spurs substitution: Louis Saha replaces Adebayor.
70' Suarez was the reason Parker wnet down doubled over there. The Uruguayan booted Parker in the midriff with his right boot! That's a booking!
66' Liverpool substitution: Suarez replaces Kuyt.
59' Adam plays the ball across to Kelly. The Liverpool right-back is allowed to rove forward and unleash a good strike that Friedel has to palm wide!
54' Bale goes down under a challenge from Agger out wide. The Liverpool man reacts angrily, suggesting the Welshman dived. Replays show there was no contact, and the referee books Bale.
46' Liverpool get the second half underway! No changes for either side at half-time.
45+2' The whistle goes for half-time and a tight first half comes to a close. Let me know your thoughts on that first 45 minutes on Twitter @tony_mabert.
45+2' Johnson surges inside past Walker and fires a low shot that Friedel blocks with his legs!
39' Great run across the final third by Gerrard. Parker sends him flying with a late tackle. That's a booking for the England midfielder and another free-kick in a good position for Liverpool.
33' SPEARING!! Bellamy plays the ball across to Gerrard fromt he left. The Liverpool captain works it intot he path of Jay Spearing on the edge of the box, and the midfielder fires a solid strike that hits the stanchion behind the goal! That would have been his first Liverpool goal.
31' Liverpool have a free-kick from deep on the left flank. Adam whips in a delightful ball that Kuyt heads wide... It wouldn't have counted anyway. The flag was up for offside against the Dutchman.
12' The game has stopped temporarily because THERE IS A CAT ON THE FIELD!! A sweet little ash grey moggy scampers across the field past a bemused Brad Friedel, before a steward gently picks him up. How did it get in?
5' Steven Gerrard slips a through ball into Carroll's path and Dawson slides in with a challenge just inside the box. Referee Michael Oliver not interested in giving a penalty despite the Kop's loud appeals! It looked a good tackle from the Spurs defender on only his fifth league appearance of the season.
1' Spurs kick off and we're underway at Anfield!

LiverpoolManager: Kenny Dalglish
Tottenham HotspurManager: Kevin Bond
Suarez is the only player we have showing real flair and imagination but a master at hitting the wood work.. Goals will come maybe he just needs a bit more time and a few more goals to settle his aim? WHAT A STRIKER though

Suazrez iz juz like a assisting striker nt a scorin type of striker
Liverpool nids a scoring striker nt a assiting type

I'm an arsenal fan but Liverpool should have one 2-1 or 1-0

Dalglish just needs a decent striker to partner the average Kuyt and Bellamy. Suarez may turn into a lethal striker but in the meantime we need a proven striker. Everything else is just about right, best defence in the league, midfield as good as any other on their day. It is goals that are eluding this great club.

£35million for Carroll, who says Dalglish is the man, do me a favour. A look at Spurs bench shows what we had left in the locker, and still took a point

I've said this a few times now on these pages. For Spurs to be REAL title challengers we must get a couple of proven strikers, like LLorente Rossi and Ibrahimovich. Our defence and midfield are awesome but unless we get 2 quality strikers for next season we will find it hard to maintain a top 4 finish and possible premiership winners.

That draw helps no one but Arsenal, and Newcastle United as they pull a bit further from liverpool, and a bit closer to Spurs, just as the United-Chelsea draw, only helped City, and loosened Chelsea's hold on 4th place.

Hey Paul, how many dives from Liverpool last night? A lot more than there were by Spurs. The basic facts are that many of our first choice players were missing and you had pretty much your first team available. You still tried to kick us off the pitch, both Skrtel and Suarez should have been sent off.
This was our worst performance of the season and still you barely scraped together two chances. Being a Liverpool supporter must be so miserable, a mid table team having to rely on beating Cardiff in a Mickey Mouse cup just to get some Thursday night football. The sweaty sock reckons you played really well last night and Spurs fans know how bad we played and still got a deserved draw, this merely proves how far behind us in every department you are.

I thought this was an amazing game and really enjoyed the battle. Not sure why the sky team thought it was boring.
Ade is getting worse (poor Peter Crouch) and shows what Man City have done to our game by paying players too much money.
We need to hammer Newcastle next and if we play with as much passion as last night we can finish high.
COYS

here we go the scoucers are moaning again, bale, bale, bale, wah, wah, wah, take a look at your own players before slating ours, bale is worth 10 of any of your players,i/d rather have him thankyou very much, all your lot could do was kick into ours & you still could'nt beat us,your whole team are just thugs, anyone for 4th but looserpool,COYS.

Why is Bale being looked after so much, He should have been sent off.
He can be a great player but his DIVING and PLAY ACTING is laughable.
Redknapp always tries to put himself across as being an honest man, So tell him now to stop cheating and do what his good at

I just wonder how long Suarez will last in the premier, after his lengthy ban he still has'nt learnt his lesson, his kick on Parker was very deliberate and not to disimilar from a Thai Kick to the midrift. The ball was still hi up in the air, even if it was left to drop naturally, he would of missed by many feet, and hes not that bad a player. I personally think his cards a marked all down to his own doing and Daglish and the Fans still defend this behavior.!! Who can football distort the minds from whats naturally right and wrong? is reschooling needed?

why don't you loserpool fans worry about where your going to finish in the tables, spurs are happy looking down on you from 3rd,its becoming a habit looking down on you hahahahahaha,it seems everyone one except us spurs fans are going on about us being in the title race,we are happy to make sure we qualify for champions league, not thursday night games, you will be lucky to be doing that the way your team are playing,COYS.

With no van der Vaart, Lennon, Defoe, etc, decent result away from home.

Please keep Enrique on the bench. He has no passing ability and is about as lazy as it gets.

@487 richie and what have you done with it lol

Don't think it was a good result for us (LFC) but good performance.
YNWA.

Niko Kranjcar had an awesome game, his defensive play and tracking back has improved so much and that pass to Bale to put him one on one with Reina was sensational! My man of the match for sure. Yahoo gave him 5! @#$%! should be an 8 at the very least.

Brove these Two Teams they Lost 2.points, Daaa iz da bes, Daa iiz Wwkd Brove, Yeah Man Save , Cool , Respect
