    • 45+3' There goes the whistle for the break. A 1-0 lead for Liverpool, who have been well served playing on the break. Liverpool deserve their lead.
    • 45+2' Mancini looking like Peter Sellars as Inspector Clouseau in the stands here. Return of the Pink Panther. Perhaps not.
    • 45+1' We are into three minutes of time added on.
    • 44' Henderson lifts the chip over Szczesny from another Liverpool break. But the ball falls over the bar. Liverpool's counter attacking strategy is paying dividends and then some.
    • 43' Giroud gets plenty of power on a header from just inside the visiting box, but an easy stop for Reina to make. Giroud looking slightly frustrated.
    • 42' Vermaelen takes out Sturridge with a late challenge around the halfway line. And on we go with Liverpool clasping this 1-0 lead.
    • 41' A change for Arsenal as Gibbs limps off to be replaced by Andre Santos. Not too sure if that move will be met by universal approval among the home fans.
    • 40' Agger offside as his header from Gerrard's free-kick is saved well by Szczesny.
    • 39' Ramsey clearly late on Agger as he sped up the park. Not sure what he was protesting about there. Liverpool with a free-kick around 35 yards from the home goal.
    • 38' Cazorla with a brilliant corner. No Arsenal head on the end of the dead ball as Johnson clears. Reina picks a cross out of the January air seconds later to calm Liverpool's nerves.
    • 37' Ramsey showing a smart turn of pace to earn his side a sixth corner of the night. Cazorla will take this latest Arsenal corner.
    • 36' Gibbs receives some attention and looks like he will be able to play on here. Which is good news from an Arsenal point of view.
    • 35' Henderson again fails to take the right option in losing the ball during another promising break. Gibbs has gone down here. Could be a muscle pull.
    • 34' Suarez again working back well as he prevents Sagna from throwing in a cross. Liverpool looking to break here again.
    • 33' Arsenal with only two men in their own half. Liverpool clearly looking to break up the play and attack, but poor stuff from Henderson as he knocks a pass out of play trying to aim the ball at Sturridge.
    • 32' Wisdom trying to join the party on his right flank, but Arsenal get enough numbers back to deal with the threat. Crowd sounding far from impressed so far.
    • 31' Suarez thumps a shot wide of goal with Arsenal's defence again looking none too certain. Defending by Arsenal far from the greatest in this contest.
    • 30' Agger beats Szczesny to Gerrard's corner, but Podolski is standing on the line to clear the danger. Denies Liverpool a certain second goal.
    • 29' Cazorla has picked up a booking for some reason or another. Not sure what that one is all about. It was for a foul on Suarez.
    • 28' Not yet completed 30 minutes here and Podolski is already demanding that the referee be aware of Liverpool's alleged time-wasting.
    • 27' Podolski with a teasing ball into the heart of the Liverpool box, but Gerrard races back to slam the clearance beyond his own goal for an Arsenal corner. Stout defending as Liverpool clear the corner seconds later.
    • 26' Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini dressed up like some sort of private detective in the stands. Not sure about the hat he has on.
    • 25' Arsenal continue to look busy here. Liverpool holding them up before Gibbs can't control the ball on the run.
    • 24' Wilshere taken out of the action late by Gerrard. Arsenal trying again to build up a head of steam in the visiting half. So many black shirts behind the ball here.
    • 23' Arsenal have now conceded the first goal in their last five Premier League matches – they went on to win one, draw one and lose two of the previous four.
    • 22' Walcott with the chance to pick out Giroud or else a cutback to a midfielder. Does neither as the cross nestles safely in the arms of Reina.
    • 21' Suarez breaks up an Arsenal attack before sending Downing racing clear down a flank, but the England man overhits a cross by some way as the ball flies out of play on the other side. Disappointing end to a promising break, it must be said.
    • 20' Reina plunges to his left to make a superb diving stop to deny Walcott. Arsenal pressing for this equaliser.
    • 19' Ball breaks to Giroud on the edge of the Liverpool area, but the shot deflects over the bar for a home corner.
    • 18' Johnson taking no chances as he makes a clearance after Suarez showed a real work ethic to track back to help help his side out. Arsenal earn a corner here.
    • 17' Another ferocious tackle by Johnson to halt the progress of Walcott as he tried to win some space in the visiting half.
    • 16' Arsene Wenger looks utterly miserable in his technical area about what he is watching so far. Liverpool playing a smart pressing game here.
    • 15' Luis Suarez has scored his fourth Premier League goal in London this season. Michu and Juan Mata have also scored four away goals in the capital this season, the most in the division.
    • 14' Johnson needing a spot of treatment after being felled by a strong Sagna challenge in the air.
    • 13' Podolski on the run for Arsenal. Plays the ball to Giroud, but he swipes the ball well wide of goal. Play raging from end to end.
    • 12' That Arsenal defence is all over the place as Szczesny almost gifts the ball to Sturridge for a second Liverpool goal. Just clears the ball in time.
    • 11' Superb pass from Suarez to send Sturridge racing clear, but he can't get the direction on the shot on the run as the ball is knocked wide.
    • 10' Plenty of meaty challenges flying in out there as Johnson rises above Walcott out wide to win the ball.
    • 9' Luis Suarez scores his 17th Premier League goal of the season. Only Robin van Persie (18) has scored more than the Uruguayan foward.
    • 8' Reina brings off a brilliant save to deny Walcott a quickfire leveller with Liverpool exposed. That should have been the equaliser.
    • 7' Fine finish and the home fans are stunned. Henderson showed great awareness to feed Suarez after Arsenal's defence was left all at sea in their own box.
    • 6' GOAL! Suarez scores for Liverpool, who lead 1-0. Sagna slipped initially before Szczesny was forced to save from Sturridge. Arsenal couldn't clear and Suarez pounced.
    • 5' Gerrard's delivery is only partially cleared, but the ball comes back off Sturridge as he tried to win some space. Unfortunate perhaps, but goalkick to the home team.
    • 4' Suarez showing some real awareness to bound into the home area. Sagna does enough, but forced to concede a Liverpool corner.
    • 3' Carragher showing all of his experience to get in ahead of Giroud in winning the ball.
    • 2' Gerrard pressing Wilshere early on. Late tackle on the home midfielder. Free-kick to the home side.
    • 1' We are off and running then in this one. Arsenal get the action started.
    • 19.42 Brendan Rodgers on the imminent arrival of Philippe Coutinho from Inter Milan. "He's a very exciting young player. For a young player of 20 he's actually got a lot of experience. He's fantastic in the 1v1, great taking players on, works hard and he's got a goal in him."
    • 19.40 Arsene Wenger is backing Aaron Ramsey to impress in a holding midfield role. “If he can bring his qualities to the team play, he will be an absolutely outstanding player, which I think he will be," said Wenger. "He takes things on board and tries to do what you ask him to do and in the last two games you could see a really positive transformation in his game.”
    • 19.35 Liverpool have won six Premier League matches at Arsenal, the most by any other club along with Manchester United.

  18. We are slowly lossing grasp of the game (LFC) and we do not change anything but put on non existant Enrique... Rodgers needs to wake up and smell the coffee. He really needs the sack. He is not taking Liverpool foward. Do this before summer, or Suarez will go. But, if he does go, it will shatter the players. What to do? Reply to suggest? Anyway, GREAT play Aresnal, nice comeback and you deserved the point, maybe even 3 if your french pal scored.

From Xavi, on Wed 30 Jan 22:06
  19. ROGERS OUT ONCE AND FOR ALL. He is a failure at Liverpool as is proven week in week out. A 2 goal lead lost, utterly pathetic. He hasn't a clue what he is doing. He is so out of his depth here and needs to be replaced by a competent manager who can handle this level of club and game. He is bringing Liverpool to its knees and Fenway need to move fast to deliver a new man next season that can bring consistent results to this flagging but once great club.

From david, on Wed 30 Jan 22:04
  20. I see Sturridge scored again in this match and while Suarez is likely to be the transfer target of some of the top teams in Europe, Guardiola the new Bayern Munich manager has expressed an interest in the player the Reds can not possibly afford to sell, Suarez might as well be up front on his own at Liverpool this season. Sturridge is fit, mobile and willing but I am still not sure about him
