    • 87' Cazorla looks to curl one into the corner but De Gea gets down well to push away the effort from 20 yards.
    • 86' The fans want a penalty after Gibbs nutmegs Ferdinand and goes down. It is a collision of bodies and certainly could have been given.
    • 85' Giggs is making his 35th Premier League appearance against Arsenal (he has only made more against Liverpool, 37, and Tottenham, 36).
    • 84' Rooney's delivery is headed away by Mertesacker but United retain possession. The German clears for a second time before Rooney's long-range effort is held by Szczesny.
    • 83' Before it is taken Giggs comes on for Nani.
    • 82' United win their first corner of the match.
    • 81' Oxlade-Chamberlain into the book for a late tackle on Jones.

    • 78' Arsenal have scored 18 goals in the final 15 minutes of Premier League matches this season, more than any other team.
    • 77' Walcott with space on the right, he goes outside and his shot deflects behind for a corner.

    • 70' United break at speed but Valencia's shot is deflected and hits the corner flag.
    • 69' Walcott's long cross is rescued by Kieran Gibbs who hooks across goal but United can counter.

    • 67' Remember Manchester United have twice came back from a goal down to defeat Arsenal away in the Premier League – 2-1 in August 1999, and 4-2 in February 2005.
    • 66' Cazorla's free-kick from the left edge of the penalty area starts off too wide, fails to curl back enough and De Gea is not tested.
    • 65' Cazorla picks out Podolski with a lovely diagonal ball and a header is brought down by the hand of Valencia on the edge of the penalty area. Yellow card for the Ecuador winger.
    • 64' Rampaging run from Evra but he loses control at the final moment and Szczesny is allowed to gather.
    • 63' Sagna lets the ball slide under his foot. The crowd are getting restless. United clearly on top.
    • 62' 42% of all Premier League goals at the Emirates Stadium this season have been scored in the final 30 minutes.
    • 61' Jack Wilshere on for Rosicky.
    • 60' Sagna is very lucky. He is on a yellow and makes a late sliding tackle on Evra that was a clear second booking. But play goes on long enough that Phil Dowd does not go back to book the player. Rooney reminds the ref of this fact and gets a telling off.
    • 59' Good spell of possession for United but Van Persie is penalised for hauling down Mertesacker.
    • 58' Before today’s match, there has been on average 3.7 goals per game at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League this season.

    • 52' Podolski currently limping. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gervinho are on the bench for Arsenal.

    • 50' Ramsey tries his luck from distance but no purchase on the effort.
    • 49' Chance for Rosicky as United back off and the Czech cuts inside and tries to curl the ball into the corner with the outside of his boot from 20 yards but just wide.
    • 48' Van Persie releases Rooney who finds Nani. The Portuguese winger cuts inside and his reverse pass aimed at Rooney is cut out.
    • 47' Chelsea have beaten Swansea so as things stand go into third ahead of Arsenal and have a game in hand.

    • 45+3' HALF-TIME! An action-packed 45 minutes comes to the end.
    • 45+1' Sagna was booked for that tackle on Van Persie which led to the penalty.
    • 45' Van Persie has now scored in this fixture in four successive matches....albeit for different clubs.
    • 44' That was Van Persie's 25th of the season. Just took the applause of his team-mates without milking it to the crowd. You could argue he has every right to after being booed all afternoon.
    • 43' UNITED EQUALISER! Up steps Van Persie to smash the ball into the corner past Szczesny. No celebration from the former Arsenal favourite.
    • 42' UNITED PENALTY! A clear penalty as Sagna gifts the ball away to Van Persie with a sloppy backpass and in attempting to make amends brings down the Dutchman.
    • 41' Another chance for Jones who makes a late run into the box to meet Antonio Valencia's cross from the right with a stooping header but it bounces wide of the post.
    • 40' Szczesny made himself big with a Schmeichel-like starfish jump but has to receive treatment after taking the ball firmly in the chops.
    • 39' More space for Nani down the left and he picks out Van Persie four yards out but his header is smothered by Szczesny who denies his former team-mate with his face!
    • 38' In each of the last five Premier League seasons when Arsenal have beaten Manchester United at home (2010-11, 2007-08, 2006-07, 2000-01, 1999-2000), United have won the league.
    • 37' Arsenal break but Rosicky's shot from 20 yards is a howler, skewing off his foot and going for a corner.
    • 36' Wayne Rooney has been a peripheral figure but sends Nani away down the left, he cuts inside and sees his shot blocked.
    • 35' Nani tries to pierce the Arsenal defence and find Van Persie but it is cut out on the edge of the penalty area.
    • 34' Cazorla's corner is too deep and eludes everyone in the penalty area.
    • 33' Sagna has shown plenty of desire throughout and slides in to earn a corner off Evra.
    • 32' Szczesny plucks the free-kick from the left out of the air. He has not been forced to make a save although should have been tested by Jones earlier.
    • 31' Walcott still really fired up and booked for a wild hack at Evra.
    • 30' Walcott angry that the German did not slide it across but it was Ramsey's heavy touch that forced Podolski into a tight angle.
    • 29' Ramsey steps in to intercept and finds Podolski who fizzes his shot straight at De Gea who stands firm and repels the shot.
    • 28' A fracas after Evans crunches Walcott from behind. A definite yellow card for the Northern Ireland defender who then leans his head, without making contact, at the irate Arsenal forward.
    • 26' Fans in over-the-top uproar as Van Persie gets a yellow card for a sliding tackle on Per Mertesacker. Mistimed nothing more.
    • 25' Sagna retrieves a ball in the right corner but his cross is headed away by Evans.
    • 24' United are finding it hard to get out their own half such is the work-rate from Arsenal.
    • 23' Rafael hauls Rosicky back by the shoulder to prevent a break and is the second United booking.
    • 22' Ramsey is penalised for harrassing Evans but Arsenal are pressing very high up the pitch. A notable feature thus far.
    • 21' Van Persie has scored 15 goals in the first half of Premier League matches this season, more than any other player. Only one half chance thus far.
    • 20' Arsenal edging possession in the opening 20 minutes.
    • 19' Walcott down the right and he almost picks out Cazorla with his cross that Ferdinand calmly lets run across the six-yard box. Clipped off Evans so should have been a corner.
    • 18' Van Persie picks out Jones on the penalty spot with a lovely cross but he mistimes the header and fails to test Wojciech Szczesny. Great chance!
    • 17' Walcott tries to dink one into the mixer but too deep and the free-kick runs behind. Something of a waste.
    • 16' Phil Jones booked for a late sliding tackle on Arteta.
    • 15' Sagna's cross is too deep. That is the sort of ball they've been feeding Olivier Giroud but Cazorla is playing down the middle in the absence of the suspended French striker.
    • 14' Sagna finds Walcott in the penalty area but is outmuscled by Evans.
    • 13' Manchester United have twice came back from a goal down to defeat Arsenal away in the PL – 2-1 in August 1999, and 4-2 in February 2005.
    • 12' Nani seems upended by Mikel Arteta and then Aaron Ramsey but no free-kick and Fergie is going bonkers on the touchline.
    • 11' First sight of goal for United as Jones pokes the ball through to Van Persie but his effort from the left side of the penalty area is high, wide and not very handsome. Home fans enjoyed that.
    • 10' Finally United enjoy a spell of possession but are unable to create anything. Arsenal really snapping into the challenges early on.
    • 9' For the record Walcott’s only other Premier League goal against Manchester United was in United’s 8-2 victory over Arsenal in August 2011.
    • 8' De Gea is unable to collect the corner cleanly but United can clear.
    • 7' Santi Cazorla's swerving effort from 25 yards warms the fingers of De Gea who pushes away for a corner.
    • 6' Bacary Sagna's probing cross from the right is headed away by Evans.
    • 5' The Gunners have started very brightly and Rosicky's 25-yard skidder goes wide of De Gea's right post.
    • 4' There was a hint of offside but it was very tight. Some part of Walcott's body was in line with that of Evra.
    • 3' Walcott's previous five Premier League goals had all been scored in the second half.
    • 2' WALCOTT SCORES! Arsenal lead inside two minutes and it was after Robin van Persie gave the ball away on the halfway line. Interchange of passes and Tomas Roscky sends Theo Walcott behind Evra. He smuggles his shot under David De Gea from a tight angle.
    • 1' Off we go.
    • 15:55 Arsenal press officer Dan Tolhurst talks the players through their guard of honour positions. Patrice Evra leads United through. Some fans applaud, some boo - generally a lot of nonsense over very little.
    • 15:50 Today's referee Phil Dowd has awarded eight penalties in the Premier League this season, the equal-most alongside Mark Halsey.
    • 15:45 Arsenal will keep with tradition and form a guard of honour for new Premier League champions Manchester United. Arsene Wenger said: "I want the traditions of English football to be respected." United gave Arsenal a guard of honour at Highbury in 1991, and honoured champions Chelsea at Old Trafford in 2005. Jose Mourinho's Chelsea returned the gesture two years later.
    • 15:40 Ferguson has told Robin van Persie to ignore the Arsenal boo-boys. Van Persie left Arsenal for Manchester United in the summer and has proved the major difference in this season's title race, taking his tally to 24 Premier League goals with Monday's hat-trick against Aston Villa. "I don't bother about it, and I don't think Robin should bother about it either," said Ferguson. "There was a bit of booing when he played at Old Trafford and I expect a portion of fans will do that."
    • 15:35 Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to end the season with a record Premier League points haul and United would surpass Chelsea's 2004-05 total of 95 if they won their last four games."Now we have won the league with four games left, I look at it as being one thing to win the league, another to do it by beating the record," he said. "Ninety-six points would be phenomenal. I don't know if that could ever be beaten."
    • 15:30 Rio Ferdinand - who missed the title-clinching win at Aston Villa on Monday - returns to the side with Phil Jones deployed in midfield. Jonny Evans and Michael Carrick picked up knocks in that win but both start. Nani makes a rare start.
    • 15:25 Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud starts a three-match ban so Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski join Santi Cazorla in a front three. Kieran Gibbs returns at left-back. Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski (rib) remains sidelined, while Abou Diaby (knee) is a long-term absentee.
    • 15:20 TEAMS: Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott, Podolski. Subs: Mannone, Vermaelen, Jenkinson, Monreal, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho. /// Manchester United: De Gea, Rafael, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Jones, Nani, Rooney, Van Persie. Subs: Lindegaard, Anderson, Giggs, Chicharito, Cleverley, Kagawa, Buttner.
    • 15:15 Champions Manchester United visit the Emirates seeking the first of four wins that would set a Premier League points record while third-placed Arsenal are just one point ahead of Chelsea and two ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, both of whom have played a game less.
  • Summary

    • 87' Cazorla looks to curl one into the corner but De Gea gets down well to push away the effort from 20 yards.
    • 86' The fans want a penalty after Gibbs nutmegs Ferdinand and goes down. It is a collision of bodies and certainly could have been given.

  1. Is it my imagination or do we have two Premier League Champions? As I understand it Manchester City are still the Champions until the last ball is kicked at the end of this season 2012/13 after which United can then claim to be Champions and remain so until the last game is played in 2014? Doesn't make sense otherwise!

From Alroy, on Wed 1 May 14:29
  2. Robin van Persie could have gotten a 2nd yellow card in the 2nd half of their game at Arsenal if he were an Arsenal player playing against United, even on the same ground. Oliver Giroud wouldn't have gotten a red if he were in United Jersie; but I thought Shawcross, who sent 3 players on EPL to horrendous injuries should've carried more punishment than Liverpool's Suarez, whose penalty wouldn't have been this much anyway, if he were a United player. Shawcross is still playing in the same EPL and not getting any cautious!

From Jim Roggo, on Wed 1 May 11:31
  3. So, RVP is given the simple job of scoring a penalty to avoid the humiliation of yet another goaless game? In a game in which Man Utd had 5 yellow cards (at least one should have been a red) they were lucky ( as usual) to get away with a draw in a game they deserved to lose! .

  5. i t just goes to show arsenal could have won they got the first goal in two mis played the whole game the only teason manchester united got a gool is becouse it took a ex arsenal player with the no how he remembers what arsenal plays like so thats how he got the ball past the goalie its a bit lke the last game they played it took the same player to get a hat trick of 3 gools

  6. The first game in which ManU received 5 yellow cards, Tow of those should have been red cards.

From Jack C, on Mon 29 Apr 0:52
  7. It curious to read that when Feridnand tackled Gibb in the area, it was called collision of bodies. We need better referees to give hope that when a club plays well they win rather than the ref giving the win to a team that should have lost. VPC should have been given a second yellow during the second half. In my opinion ManU are loser cowards who butcher opponents and get away because of refereeing. Arsenal will prevail.

From Jack C, on Mon 29 Apr 0:50
  8. Arsenal will win their last 3 games for 73 points and a top 4 finish- United will beat Chelsea at Old Trafford so looks like it will all be down to the winners of Spurs v Chelsea to take the 4th spot- really hope Spurs can do it for the second year- this time there will be no reprieve for Chelsea.

  14. VPC scored on a penalty kick. The same ManU has benefited on through the season. They could have lost this one had the referee been as vigilant for faults and sanctioned them equally between the 2 clubs.

Manchester United play the most boring football I have ever seen, and how the hell is Rooney on 250,000 pounds a week? he is absolute dog poo.The only decent United players are Jones, Welbeck, Hernandez, Kagawa and De Gea, the rest are #$%$ Make the most of it United because next season you are going to get relegated.
