Chelsea survived an almighty scare to beat promoted Reading 4-2 in a topsy-turvy Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge. More
90+6 Final whistle, Chelsea survive a real scare, Petr Cech wipes the sweat from his brow and the Blues are top of the league (until the weekend).
90+5 GOAL CHELSEA! Torres clears the corner and Federici is stranded - he's racing back but Hazard races away, Gunther is back on the line but he just slips it to Ivanovic who rolls it home. 4-2, flattering but job done.
90+4 Anyway, you can't complain when Harte has a free-kick - and his driven low effort is deflected behind for a late corner. Federici comes up for it!!
85' READING SUB: McLeary is replaced by Robson-Kanu as the Royals go for broke.
83' CHELSEA SUB: Meireles replaces the flagging Mata.
80' GOAL CHELSEA! Torres with a tap-in after Ashley Cole's low cross left the Reading defence flat-footed!
79' Chelsea laying camp on the edge of the Reading box - and Mata breaks through the yellow brick wall only to drag his finish wide! Federici a spectator!
77' READING SUB: Hunt replaces Pogrebnyak.
72' READING SUB: Le Fondre, a striker, replaces Karacan, a midfielder.
70' GOAL CHELSEA! Cahill with a drive from a long way out but Federici with a second mistake this week, he should have stopped that! 2-2!
69' Hazard is tripped by McAnuff, flying into Pearce in the process. Free-kick to Chelsea as Sturridge enters, I think for Lampard.
68' Oscar threads a nice ball into Torres, who takes one (heavy) touch before trying a shot that Harte blocks! He wants a penalty but the ref waves it away, Torres felt it was hand ball!
67' Now Torres gets in down the right, he drills it low for Ivanovic who can't connect but it drops to HAZARD but his drive on goal is blocked by Pearce! That's more like it from Chelsea.
65' Pogrebnyak is late on Cole and he will enter the book now.
58' Karacan catches Mata in the middle of the park and he is booked, first of the match. Trod on his foot after the ball had gone.
57' "@abuVengeance: doesn't seem Ramires is feeling "gazelly" today. Time for Oscar I think. Torres needs to see more of the ball" - good call, Oscar has just come on for Ramires. FOLLOW ON TWITTER!
56' Ivanovic with a run into the box now and he wins a corner for Chelsea. Good ball it is too as Terry flies in but he can't make contact and Reading survive for now! And Hazard is in down the right but a poor cut-back well beyond Torres and Reading clear.
46' The second half is underway. Chelsea need to change this around quickly.
- "@XtremeSoccerBoy: i think this first half says a lot about Di Matteo's reign. He certainly deserves a shot after last year, but he'll struggle"; "@rouslanh: Chelsea still lack that team chemistry, and you there is no communication between players. But they will turn it around 4-2"; "@ladkings: Torres' inconsistency in front of goal might still cost Chelsea this season...he's not a big threat anymore to defenders!" FOLLOW ON TWITTER!

45+2 Half-time and, having scored the opener, Chelsea are trailing 2-1 thanks to the might of Pogrebnyak and some horrible goalkeeping by Petr Cech!
45+1 Mata wide to Hazard, he delivers a superb cross AND TORRES RISES but he can only head it wide! He did well to get between Gorkss and Pearce but he should have got better direction on that.
44' Harte swings the free-kick in, another fine delivery, and Pearce attacks it but flicks the ball wide! Well, the replay shows he missed it completely! Should have been a third!
28' Harte will take this... No he won't, he runs over it and Guthrie smacks it low towards goal AND CECH FUMBLES IT! GOAL READING!
24' GOAL READING! And guess who it is? Pogrebnyak with a superb angled header after beating Cahill to McLeary's excellent cross!
18' Lampard to take the penalty... GOAL CHELSEA! Low to the keeper's right, serious pace on it so no chance for Federici. 1-0.
17' PENALTY CHELSEA! Stupid foul by Gunther on Hazard after the Belgian cut the ball back past him. No need to go to ground on the left side of the penalty area.
12' After a very long but ineffectual spell of Chelsea possession, Torres takes it upon himself to run at the Reading defence with a mesmerising solo dribble, but he half overruns it before scuffing the shot badly. Great play until the finish! (Correction - replay shows Pearce blocked his shot)
9' "@Ebblon: Chelsea will win 3-0 thanks to a Torres double and a Hazard goal"; "@HamuchiJFakih: one of the best Chelsea Fc formations I've seen!"; "@SayemIRahman: a thong :-P." FOLLOW ON TWITTER!
8' Guthrie runs with the ball to a central position, he finds Pogrebnyak who fires in a rising effort that flies wide. Reading show their danger on the break.
7' Mata with a superb first-time through ball to Ramires, who races away like a hungry gazelle before unleashing a rasping drive that a diving Federici palms away! First proper chance to Chelsea.

19:35 If you were on £80k a week to occasionally trot out as cover for the first team, what would you wear to games? I'd probably rock the "distressed roughneck" look, leather jacket, aviators and a hard-hat, just for effect. Let me know what your Paulo Ferreira outfit would be... FOLLOW ON TWITTER!

man utd w nkers
sarah jane im no smackhead and richard ellis the two of F YOU
Chelsea worn the march , they out played juniors when Chelsea realized reading , were playing to their full capacity
I think Reading did very well considering that two main players were out. An offside was given and was shown offside by Sky Italia, I thought we would get a better class of officials in the prem, he missed the call, so be it. Even Chelsea players admit it was offside. 4 - 2 made Chelsea look better than they were, 2 x gifted goals a pen and a cracker from Cahill. Best goal of the match was by the Pog for Reading, more of that to come. Reading had Chelsea worried and the fans looked very glum indeed - you only sing when you are winning !
First up Torres was level therefore onside secondly having your legs taken from under you is not a dive.. looks like a number of people on here need to visit spec savers or are two tribalised to Reading to accept the facts.
He was level when viewed in line and therefore on side. The linesman and ref got it right for once unless you are a blind Reading FAn take a look at the yahoo link
LUV U CHELSEA.
Spot on, Dylan. Now that it's happening to Chelsea they don't like it and it's all thumbs down. Haha. We won't let you forget it guys. You will be reminded throughout the season of your hypocrisy.
Looks like Hazard has stolen Ashley Youngs crown of being the premierships biggest diver, 2 games played 2 penalties awarded.
chelsea wold win the pemier leauge not like a #$%$ team like sunderland or newcastle united
offside goal by Torres but the linesman was blind not to spot it out..
Good game Chelsea done well very well but shouldn't have gone 2 -1 down to a team like Reading.
Did penalty counts as an assist towards the player that won the penalty ? If it does that means Hazard now has 5 assist in 3 games which I doubt if it's ever been done by any players in the 2 opening matches of the season. And if it doesn't count,3 assist in 2 games still a great stats too. I think we're just getting the glimpse of what Hazard is capable of,but he need to up his game all the time and till the final whistle is blown. We look a bit shaky in defence today and Terry should take some blame for the second goal,he was outside the 18 yard box instead of helping Cahill defend, has he forgot that his first priority is to defend and what a howler from a GK of Cech's standard,he needs to put his act together,I think we did well as a unit, but we need to bring in a RB,a very speedy and tricky winger that can play either side, someone who can put in great crosses and dribble pass opponents, which we'll be getting in Victor Moses and don't know why it's taking us like forever to get him,we need to bring in this kind of players in the 60's or 70th minutes when opponents defenders are tired and he could come tear them apart and put in great passes or crosses for our CF. More so,someone need to tell Sturridge that football is all about team work or he should go start playing Tennis,Golf Boxing or other individual sport so he can get all the glories and hyping alone, football is all about working together as a unit, and that's making Hazard,Mata Oscar a better player and securing starting 11 ahead of him, because he's way too selfish,he needs to get that straight into his head and start passing the ball rather than trying to score from impossible angles all the time, though Ramires #$%$ me off early on in the game too,he should have pass to Torres rather than trying to score on his own. I think it's just a matter of time before we bring in a creative CM and DM except if Romeu is given a chance and McEachran steps up to fill the CM
They are favoured by giving that penalty hope for the next match too.
amazing chelsea
Enough said with my name !!
Chelsea are good.
So many games are not won by players or good managers, they are often,as this game was, won by poor officials. Twice tonight Torres was offside, the second time resulted in a goal. The linesmsn was one of three things. He was either blind, biased or slow witted. He was up with the play so had absolutely no excuse for his error. Officials in the Premier League who make glaring errors like his should immediately spend the rest of the season refereeing or running the line in Park Football. And I am no Reading supporter, just reporting how it is.
@475 how has it changed we lost 11-12 but won 10-11 so no it hasnt changed
lol at the dreamer saying man utd will win the league! wake up to the reality that d trend has changed!
