Paolo Di Canio's first game as Sunderland manager ended in a 2-1 Premier League defeat in a game of three freak goals. More
89' Finally some noise! It comes to greet Frank Lampard, who replaces Juan Mata with a minute plus stoppage time to play.
85' Chelsea change: Yossi Benayoun on for Eden Hazard.
82' Sunderland change: Jack Colback replaces Craig Gardner.
77' Wickham goes down after catching an arm in the face from Luiz. The replay looks.... well, it doesn't look entirely innocent from the Chelsea defender. Hard to prove intent but that wasn't great.
71' James McClean is on for Sebastian Larsson, who can have no complaints. Minimal impact from him today.
70' Adam Johnson! Beats Mikel and tries to curl the ball into the far left-hand corner but he sends it wide! That was a real chance.
67' Luiz's boot is off. Without wishing to scaremonger, it looked like the kind of studs-on-foot impact that can lead to metatarsal injuries.
62' Hazard stays down after a Rose challenge - referee Swarbrick plays advantage, but then books Rose. It was late and he can have little complaint.
61' Oscar! Mignolet punches the corner weakly, the ball drops to the Brazilian and he flahses it into the side netting!
55' GOAL! Chelsea lead 2-1 thanks to another freak goal! David Luiz's shot takes a touch off Ivanovic and beats Mignolet!
47' GOAL! Chelsea are level thanks to a bizarre own goal from Matt Kilgallon! Torres raced through the left channel and found Oscar, whose shot was charged down by Mignolet - but the ball ricocheted off Kilgallon's heel and rolled into the left corner.
46' Second half under way! Gianfranco Zola is watching from the stands. And we're told that Ba withdrawal was due to the injury he picked up in the first half, not tactics.
46' The masked man is on - Fernando Torres replaces Demba Ba at half-time for Chelsea.
45+3' Sunderland lead at half-time! Paolo Di Canio's first Sunderland game going according to plan. It hasn't been dominant, but the visitors have their noses in front!
45' GOAL! Paolo Di Canio's Sunderland lead at Stamford Bridge! A corner is forced in, nobody seems sure who scored... John O'Shea flicked on a corner and Cesar Azpilicueta 's attempted clearance flew into his own net.
25' Gardner flies into Ba with a sort of scissor tackle, and that's a clear yellow card.
19' And here come Sunderland on the break! Johnson has a chance to shoot and pings the ball into the face of David Luiz!
18' Luiz smashes the free-kick into the wall, and it comes into the path of Ba whose effort is charged down! The ball did hit the arm of Kilgallon but it was definitely not deliberate.
3' Sessegnon! What a start that would have been! Nips beyond Ivanovic and thrashes a shot into the side netting from a very tight angle.
1' Off we go! Chelsea kick off, playing from right to left in blue shirt and shorts, and white socks. Sunderland in their home kit. Di Canio in a charcoal and lilac diamond-pattern jumper.

wow 2 own goals in a game !!
I will take these daft mackems down
Serve De Canio right he shouldn't have walked away from Swindon
Kilgallon, Bramble - we salute you!!!!!!!!!
As a Chelsea fan, I am worried about our chances not being taken. Our strikers Torres and Ba are not hiting it home as often as possible. This was a scrapy lucky win but a welcomed one. Truth is, too many fixtures in a season must take its tool expecially torwards the end. On the Mikel issue, I think the guy is doing a decent job. He is always doing the dirty jobs and linking up between the back four, midfield and attack. His passes are most times acurate, he is a defensive minded midfielder so pardon his not scoring but acknowledge his decent sweeper job. Most Chelsea coaches, since the special one keep him in the team so he must be giving something.
The cheesy chip munchers are on their way down! Bye bye, you dirty mackems!
NO shots on target again! Maybe Di Canio should introduce goalposts to the players.
MIND THE GAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well played Chelsea, bye, bye, scumberland, going down, bye, bye, :-)

SMBS GOIN DOWN
A lucky win. Anyway win is a win and much needed THREE points. However, Chelsea will have to be careful in the remaining matches. Torres seems to be improving is a good sign.
Delighted by the result. Danny Graham must be disappointed not to have been selected.
No shots on target. Get some shooting practice in Di Canio. HAHaHAHa. Mind the gap. Will the mackems be in the bottom 3 tonight?
Chelsea back up to third, with a game in hand on Spurs, not so clever now are you? Hope Arsenal overtake you too.
Shane the Payne - look at the table, you are 5th. As for our taste of success you wouldn't remember what that is being an Arsenal fan.
@shane pyne I sing because I dont lose my top players to a rival
mikel waste of space.
Ha H Ha Ha. Fascists beaten! Cisse with a last minute strike to sicken the unwashed fascists. MIND THE GAP!!!!!!!!
