Steven Gerrard paid a heavy price for missing a penalty as West Bromwich Albion earned a 2-0 Premier League win at Liverpool. More
90+5' There goes the final whistle! A 2-0 win for West Brom. Classic away display from West Brom.
90+2' Frustration for Suarez as he is booked for a spot of dissent. Home fans already streaming out of the ground.

81' Mulumbu thumps a long-range strike at goal, but Reina dives to tip the shot wide of goal. Superb shot and save.
79' Anfield silenced by that moment, but here comes Philippe Coutinho for his debut for Liverpool as he replaces Downing.
78' Foster saves the penalty! Brilliant stop low to his left to make the stop. He comes off his line to gather the corner. Magnificent from Foster.
77' PENALTY TO LIVERPOOL! Olsson barges Suarez in the back and the referee points to the spot. Bit clumsy by the West Brom defender.
75' Dorrans departs to be replaced by Romelu Lukaku for the visitors. Can't say that isn't a positive change.
73' Brunt booked for a late challenge on Suarez. Free-kick to Liverpool 25 yards from goal.
71' Morrison collects a yellow card for kicking the ball away. Needless stuff there.
70' Superb stop by Foster to halt a stinging Gerrard effort, but Borini can only prod the rebound wide. So close to the opening goal.
69' McAuley manages to get back to block a Suarez shot. Lovely pass by Gerrard to pick out his companion.
68' Ridgewell has been booked for a late chop on Sterling at the halfway line. Not a bad booking to collect.
67' Borini rattles a shot at goal from inside the visiting box. Foster equal to the task in diving to make the stop at full stretch.
60' Fabio Borini replaces Shelvey with Raheem Sterling taking over from Henderson for Liverpool.
53' Shelvey dinks the ball across the face of goal and wide before he realises he is offside again. West Brom being subjected to some serious heat here.
52' And on we go here with Liverpool pressing. Shelvey caught inches offside.
51' Foster pulls off a brilliant save to deny Henderson from Johnson's cross. Fine piece of play, but West Brom survive.
49' Brave block by Foster to deny Gerrard after the ball had broke to him from a Downing hit. Liverpool fans suddenly come to life.
46' Off we go then in the second half with Liverpool getting the ball rolling.
45+1' There goes the whistle for the break. 0-0. A pretty disappointing half of football, it must be said.
40' Reid booked for a crunching late tackle on Suarez. Poor, poor tackle.
39' Reid almost knocks the ball into his own net from the Shelvey cutback. So fortunate to avoid an own goal there.

23' Agger with the header at goal from Downing's corner, but Foster swipes the ball over the bar. Brilliant goalkeeping.
13' Downing the latest figure to be caught offside. Sturridge forced to watch the action from the stands at Anfield this evening. Frustration for him.
8' Shelvey nets for Liverpool after Foster failed to hold Johnson's volley, but the flag was up. Correct call, but poor goalkeeping by the West Brom keeper.
7' Suarez caught inches offside, but there were a few more bodies offside alongside him. Good line held by West Brom.
6' Mulumbu looks to pick out Long, who is just offside. And on we go here. Liverpool trying to get their range of passing going.
1' And off we go. West Brom trying to get on the move early on.

Ben Foster is fast becoming a Gordon Banks to LFC. Brilliant goalkeeper "When he wants to be."
Is suarez going on that diving prog he will win easy
Once again suarez shows his cheating your manager is also blind along with the supporters please get rid of this #$%$ wba deserrved the win
wheres DERRICK?? no I'm not deluded, I'm a shed load of cash better off, thanks to that result, DELUDED is what lfc fans and brenda are, thinking they will finish top 4
Oh my god i rushed home 2 watch the game last night.I should have stayed at home.I like BR give him a chance, above all the blame has 2 b with the players they should not get paid 4 that dismall performance last night.& why does suarez keep on diving, just do what u r paid to much t do ie play football.
so much rubbish on here... Look at facts I sound like rafa... Lucas is too slow and slows the game down Henderson worked hard and played ok out of position downing did ok Johnson was appalling enrice thought he was playing for Newcastle so kept passing to black and white shirts agga cannot defend saurez is greedy and doesn't pass and dived for the pen. The Rodgers doesn't believe in the striker he bought borini so didn't play him and changes the structure of the team which had been playing well. The team should have been one change Borini for sturridge same formation as previously and even when he made subs he took of Henderson the only one with any energy in midfield. As for the ability to shoot and hit the target laughable
don't blame brendon rogers it the #$%$ players that queen kenny bought, but it is great to see loserpool lose, title 20 comig up utd utd utd
A bad result after a good run of games and the hatchets are out in force, whos going to take over? Rafa? anyone who thinks liverpool are going to get CL this season is in dreamland, Rodgers is trying to rebuild get out of his way and he might just be able to after the flops Kenny blew all the shopping money on.
Having seen how the owners of Liverpool measured Kenny Dalglish and Steve Clarke's failure last season how are they going to measure Bodgers success having been beaten by the former assistant managers new team twice that's one hell of a message to the Liverpool owners. Certainly a case of "if it isn't broke don't fix it so it is" Liverpool's problem is they are not playing to win the ball is played the wrong way too many times I think Reina had the ball more than Foster did. While Bodger's wants Liverpool to play passing football this should not come at the price of not being able to put the ball in the oppositions goal, if he's around next season he'll have a few less games to sort things out as european football won't be on the fixture list and being only 13 points above the relegation zone could it be championship football next season
woke up this morning after a wonderful dream----it was about the sacking of RODGERS and all the other team of driftwood getting fired. Sad, Sad, it was only a dream, but you live in hopes.
I don't think Rodgers has the nous to vary the team. He's young for a L'pool manager and this is not the time to experiment. Run rings round the top teams and lose to the lower. A failing of this side for seasons past. Please give us a Shanks.
I think BR was misquoted before the game, he didn't say we can still get fourth, he said we can still get fourteenth. Fourteenth might be a bit beyond Liverpool but it never hurts to aim higher than your capabilities.
no no no !!!
comment,,, 403.... like the Oldham game you mean as well!
Seddik: Come back stronger from defeats like rhis one? I hope you Jest, you have been saying this for 5 years and more, Liverpool are a VERY AVERAGE team and 5 or 6 players short of being in a position to reach a top four place. Looking at the game as an outsider there are many players just TURNING up, no passion, no pride and certainly no commitment to LFC, just turn up and draw their inflated salaries then off the the golf course or bookies.
LIVERPOOL REALLY SUCKS !!!
I funking hate it when I avoid any reports on the game, rush home ,make a cup of tea then sit down to watch a great game of footy.Instead i have to suffer through a pile of #$%$.I love LFC but I think I could play better than Enrique or Johnson did ....send 'em all home for a rest till the start of nxt season.AND AS FOR BORINI...does heeven know where the goal is..!!!!!
Liverpool are finished for a generation now. They might reach the top four in 2030!
The Birdman of Anfield Road missed a penalty
