    • - Remember, you can watch highlights of this match and all the weekend's Premier League games live on site from Monday (00:01).
    • 90+4' FULL TIME. A rout. Two each for Sturridge and Henderson and one apiece for Agger and Borini. A dark, dark day for Newcastle - their worst defeat at home since the 1920s.
    • 90+3' Suso gets a shot in from a wide position but Elliot holds onto it easily enough.
    • 90+2' The Liverpool fans are in fine voice, and understandably so. Newcastle's are pouring out of the exits.
    • 90' We will have three added minutes.
    • 89' The Liverpool fans are in fine voice, and understandably so. Newcastle's are pouring out of the exits.
    • 87' Stat from Infostrada: "Newcastle last conceded 6 at home in a 6-2 PL defeat v Man United in April 2003."
    • 86' Cisse tries to get on the end of a cross from the right but can't get a clean shot away.
    • 85' Double change for Liverpool as the impressive Coutinho and Sturridge are replaced by Suso and Jonjo Shelvey.
    • 84' Cisse whacks one wide. An actual chance for Newcastle.
    • 82' What a performance from Liverpool, but the home defence has been atrocious.
    • 81' COUTINHO HITS THE BAR! The midfielder takes aim from range and sees his ferocious effort tipped onto the woodwork by Elliot.
    • 79' This is a quite stunning collapse from Newcastle - and you wonder what it will do for their confidence as they aim to avoid relegation.
    • 77' Stat from Infostrada: "Jordan Henderson scores a PL brace for the first time since a 4-2 home win for Sunderland against Wigan in April 2011."
    • 76' GOAL! Newcastle 0-6 Liverpool! Henderson's free-kick bends right inside the far post. This is a complete disaster for Newcastle.
    • 75' RED CARD! Debuchy given a second yellow and Newcastle down to 10 men. He fouled Coutinho. Oh dear.
    • 74' GOAL! Newcastle 0-5 Liverpool! Fabio Borini scores less than a minute after coming on! Downing does well to cut the ball back for the Italian, who drifts away from his man to poke the ball into the far corner.
    • 73' Here is Borini and he replaces Gerrard.
    • 72' Haidara jinks away from his man to win a corner for Newcastle. It goes short and Liverpool clear.
    • 71' Stat from Infostrada: "Daniel Sturridge has scored 7 goals in 11 PL apps for Liverpool. He had scored once in his previous 9 PL apps for Chelsea."
    • 69' Liverpool are getting Fabio Borini ready on the touchline. He hasn't played since February due to injury.
    • 67' Sturridge appears to be in behind the defence but instead of shooting he checks onto his right boot and allows his marker to get back and push him wide.
    • 66' Newcastle look a bit lost. Even when the ball arrives in the box they don't look ready to pounce on it.
    • 65' Newcastle make a change as Vurnon Anita comes on for Tiote in midfield.
    • 64' Stat from Infostrada: "This is the first time in PL history that seven players from the same foreign country have been on the pitch for a PL club."
    • 63' This has been a disastrous performance from Newcastle. They are right in the mire. Remember, they are only five points above relegation having played a game more than Wigan and Villa.
    • 61' GOAL! Newcastle 0-4 Liverpool! It's turning into a rout as Sturridge claims a second. Henderson is set free by a dinked ball over the top and he has far too much time to square for Sturridge, who taps home with Elliot stranded.
    • 60' Sturridge dinks a little pass through for Coutinho but his shot is blocked.
    • 58' Coutinho's assist really was sublime by the way - make sure you catch it later.
    • 57' Stat from Infostrada: "Daniel Sturridge scores his third PL goal against Newcastle. They join West Ham and Tottenham as his favourite clubs to score against (all 3)."
    • 56' SHOUT FOR A PENALTY! Ben Arfa strikes a firm shot and his effort cannons off the arm of Lucas, who leapt with them in the air. Seen em given, as they say.
    • 55' A corner arrives for Newcastle and Reina looks rather unconvincing when fumbling the ball.
    • 54' GOAL! Newcastle 0-3 Liverpool! Sturridge claims a classy third! Lovely assist from Coutinho and Sturridge controls the ball before thumping it into the roof of the net and past Elliot.
    • 53' Stat from Infostrada: "Liverpool have not lost a PL match when winning at half-time this season (2 draws, 9 wins)."
    • 52' Cabaye is guilty of a heavy first touch when the ball is cleared into his path on the edge of the box. The midfielder might have had a decent shot there.
    • 50' Downing cuts in to good effect from the right wing and lays the ball back for Sturridge. He tries to make space for a shot but is robbed as he checks onto his other foot.
    • 48' Ben Arfa looking to make an impact and he delivers a good cross from the right, but Reina is off his line to collect the ball.
    • 47' An early shout for a penalty from Newcastle but it looked rather hopeful.
    • 46' Hatem Ben Arfa and Yoan Gouffran come on for Perch and Ben Arfa as Newcastle make a couple of changes. Seven Frenchmen in the Newcastle XI now.
    • 46' KICK OFF!
    • 45+2' HALF TIME. Things got a bit frayed towards the end there, with Tiote appearing to have a little stamp on Sturridge too. Goals from Henderson and Agger have Liverpool in control though.
    • 45+1' A bit silly from both men - Tiote was kicking out a bit and Johnson holding onto his leg.
    • 45' Johnson and Tiote get involved in a tangle off the ball as a tetchy match degenerates further. Both men get a talking to.
    • 44' Taylor goes into the book from bringing down Sturridge as the striker wriggled away from him.
    • 42' Confirmation that Glen Johnson has also been booked for a challenge on Tiote.
    • 41' Cabaye goes in late on Henderson to earn a booking. He is all too often guilty of that sort of thing.
    • 40' Tiote plays in Papiss Cisse with a fine pass out to the left and the striker shows admirable persistence to win a corner. Nothing comes of it though.
    • 39' Jonas into the book for a rather messy challenge on Sturridge.
    • 38' Stat from Opta: "Liverpool have drawn their last three Premier League games; they have not drawn four in a row since December 2008."
    • 36' CHANCE FOR NEWCASTLE! How does he miss?? The cross comes in from Haidara on the left and Perch rises unmarked from eight yards out. Somehow, though, he powers a header wide.
    • 35' Tiote looks lively to dump Coutinho on his bum just as the midfielder ponders putting the ball into the box.
    • 34' Very poor from Newcastle so far. They don't seem to have a coherent plan at the moment.
    • 32' Henderson lofts a cross to the back post and Sturridge tries to catch it on the volley on the outside of his boot. No luck though.
    • 31' Gerrard's corner is worked back to the skipper and his next delivery also deflects behind for another corner, of which little is made.
    • 30' Stat from Infostrada: "Liverpool have drawn twice this season from a 2-0 lead, both were away at Everton on October 28th and at Arsenal on January 30th."
    • 29' Gerrard slices a shot wide as Liverpool push forward once again.
    • 27' CHANCE FOR NEWCASTLE! Jonas Gutierrez shifts the ball onto his right boot and sends his shot soaring over the bar.
    • 26' Pardew making notes. Probably wishing he could substitute almost all of his team on this showing so far.
    • 25' Haidara does just enough to hold off Sturridge as the lively forward puts him under plenty of pressure when laying the ball off to Elliot.
    • 24' CHANCE FOR LIVERPOOL! Lucas whips a pass into Sturridge, who powers through the middle virtually unopposed to rifle a shot at Elliot. Too close to the keeper though.
    • 23' Meanwhile, Tiote gets a talking to after Coutinho complains the midfielder caught him with a stray elbow.
    • 22' Coutinho controls well in his own half but just as Gerrard looks for a quick ball forward, a Newcastle shirt nips in to take the ball away.
    • 21' Sturridge and Debuchy engage in a bout of pushing and then go head to head. Both men go into the book as a result.
    • 20' Tiote initially keeps control with some lovely skill in the centre-circle but is then robbed of possession.
    • 19' Stat from Infostrada: "Liverpool have only lost twice from a 2-goal margin lead in PL history. The last occasion was 3-2 at QPR in March 2012."
    • 18' The former Sunderland man scores against Newcastle. Not popular with the locals.
    • 17' GOAL! Newcastle 0-2 Liverpool! Jordan Henderson converts after a lovely move! Sturridge controls superbly in the centre circle to play in Coutinho and then races through to get the return ball. As Elliot advances he knocks the ball wide to Henderson, who taps in.
    • 15' And now Debuchy brings down Jose Enrique - another foul. Pardew disagrees but the Newcastle man swept Enrique's legs away.
    • 14' Massadio Haidara bangs into Stewart Downing from behind to give away a free-kick before Cheick Tiote also commis a foul. Scrappy from Newcastle.
    • 13' Replays suggest that decision was rather tight.
    • 12' Liverpool cut through Newcastle again but Sturridge is ruled offside as he collects a pass over the top from Johnson and tests Elliot with a firm effort.
    • 11' Stat from Infostrada: "Liverpool score their 4th fastest PL goal of the season. Luis Suarez scored the quickest after 1 minute 7 seconds at Norwich on September 29th."
    • 9' Newcastle are struggling to get a string of passes together at present and they don't look massively up for this.
    • 7' Coutinho plays a neat through-ball for Jordan Henderson but the ball just runs away from the midfielder and into Elliot. That's the right idea though.
    • 6' No ill-effects from the absence of Suarez so far for Liverpool, who have made an electric start at Newcastle.
    • 5' Stat from Infostrada: "Agger scores his 3rd goal of the season, his most prolific season for the club."
    • 4' That was very poor defending from Newcastle. Alan Pardew won't be at all amused I imagine.
    • 3' GOAL! Newcastle 0-1 Liverpool! Daniel Agger heads home for a third-minute opener! The defender was onside when the ball was chipped into the box and, as Newcastle's defenders stepped up, angled his header past Robert Elliot and in.
    • 3' Now Mathieu Debuchy is required to make a crucial intervention at the back post as Liverpool's assault continues. The Gerrard has a long effort blocked.
    • 2' Glen Johnson gets the ball wide on the right and his dangerous low cross for Daniel Sturridge is cleared behind by Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 17:25 Stats from Opta: "Liverpool have won nine and drawn one of the last 13 Barclays Premier League games against Newcastle in Premier League history. Liverpool have only kept two clean sheets in 18 Premier League trips to Tyneside. Only against Aston Villa (11) has Steven Gerrard scored more Premier League goals than he has against Newcastle (seven)."
    • 17:20 The big news there is that Borini has not earned the widely-expected start - instead he begins on the bench, with Sturridge up front alone for the Reds.
    • 17:15 TEAMS: Newcastle: Elliot, S Taylor, Perch, Haidara, Debuchy, Yanga-Mbiwa, Tiote, Gutierrez, Sissoko, Cabaye, Cisse. Subs: Harper, Williamson, Gosling, Anita, Ben Arfa, Gouffran, Shola Ameobi /// Liverpool: Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique; Lucas, Gerrard; Downing, Henderson, Coutinho; Sturridge. Subs: Jones, Coates, Skrtel, Wisdom, Suso, Shelvey, Borini.
    • 17:10 Bookies make Liverpool marginal favourites: Newcastle 15/8, Liverpool 6/4, draw 13/5.
    • 17:05 Expect goals today: it's 37 matches since these two sides played out a 0-0 draw in the league!
    • 17:00 Newcastle had won four successive home games before a defeat to rivals Sunderland in their last game at St James Park - they'll be keen to get back on track.
    • 16:55 Alan Pardew on Luis Suarez's ban: "They have still to answer, the FA, why that was and probably that would be interesting for all Premier League managers to know exactly why it's 10 games. It's difficult. It's an incident that everybody was shocked by and probably even Suarez shocked himself by doing it. But you have got young kids playing in the park and obviously we don't want to see that kind of action."
    • 16:50 The Reds will be without Luis Suarez for the first time: the Liverpool striker begins his 10-match suspension today. For biting Branislav Ivanovic, we should just say, in case you've been on holiday on the moon since last weekend.
    • 16:45 Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Newcastle's Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Banksey @ 381: don't just bcos Liverpool scored 6 goals today you begin to compare liverpool with Manchester Utd....no of goals??? Man Utd already overtook liverpool as the best club in EPL...20 titles. come on...be truth to yourself, liverpool is poor, that's why liverpool at 7th placing. the truth huts, isn't it?

  13. You know it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that Liverpool could actually score more goals than Man Utd this season. They've had a lot of wins by the odd goal- bless em. Liverpool although seventh are the second highest scorers and have only conceded a lousy 7 more goals than United. Despite these shocking statistics Man Utd have a staggering 30 POINTS MORE!!!! Championship on the cheap I call it. the jammy bar stewards. And LFC as usual have drawn far too many games. LFC have to be more ruthless. With Saurez missing it might have made the Liverpool boys pass the ball around to more team mates in forward positions- so opening up more scoring options. And although Saurez scores piles of goals- he also squanders quite a few chances. Er...we had more bite up front without him.

  15. To the tune of 'The Blaydon races' They went on to Sid James's park, one frosty day in April, The Red and whites were up for it, their aim to climb the table. Paolo's boys went up the pitch, the frogs they were a hopping, 0n 27 the Benin bolt scored, the magpies eyes were popping. 3,000 braves took up the chant, Sid James's park was rocking, The trailer park trash aka Taylor the flash made a tackle that was shocking. The cheating #$%$ was true to form, but the faithfull sang regardless, Johno swerved an awesome shot, the black and whites rear guard less. The scoreboard moved from 1 to 2, the frogs began to shiver, Paolo pushes the reds up the pitch, the stands began to quiver, Paolo brings on Frankie V, surely nothing matters, Frankie hits the roof of the net, the black and whites in tatters. They left the park with harldy a bark, the toon was ganna get it, A polis horse got in the way, and was banjoed by a half wit. Within 2 weeks Sid James's again mixed with red hordes entertaining, Pardew promised a redeeming show,...................a 6 nil fu£&ing caning!!!!!!!

Hate to say it Geordies but you could go down.Away to West Ham and Qpr where you may get a point and then another thrashing at home by Arsenal.Wrong to pack the team with Frenchies who don't have the stiffest backbones in the world.Great when the going is good but nowhere when the going gerts tough.First time I have seen a home team passing it along the backline wasting time when 0-6 down.

  20. Shocking performance, players were a disgrace, no interest, no passion. Liverpool were good but be honest here, they were not great. They were playing a bunch of uninterested way overhyped players. Pardew I`m afraid is undefendable. Really was a complete and utter shambles to watch today.
