    • 65' Oh Taarabt, you frustrating man. He beats Naughton brilliantly and comes inside from the right, but overelaborates to a factor of about 50 and dribbles back to the point where he first got the ball.
    • 64' Mackie has been all over Naughton all afternoon but the pair seem to be getting on OK - they share a joke with the ball out of play.
    • 63' Walker rises high to head a raking crossfield ball back to Lloris. Tottenham in total control. Or at least they would be if they had scored. It remains goalless.

    • 14' Another decent move from QPR as Mackie works it to Taarabt, but the Moroccan lingers on the ball and loses possession.
    • 13' The corner is cleared to the edge of the box where Park plays it square to an off-balance SWP who slashes his shot high and wide.
    • 12' Taarabt's cross goes out for a corner and the crowd are starting to find their voice.
    • 11' Wright-Phillips! Taarabt slides him in with a lovely ball, SWP manages to get the ball out from under his feet and his shot goes behind for a corner via a deflection off Dawson.
    • 10' Mbia coems forward on the break and Spurs are rattled here - but Mbia plays a crossfield ball to nobody at all. Not a hooped shirt within 40 yards of that and Lloris comes out of his box to collect it.
    • 9' Mackie chases another ball down the right. He's a real handful, but this time Vertonghen shepherds the ball out for a Tottenham throw.
    • 8' Mackie leaves a trail of destruction in his wake as he flies into two challenges and Naughton and Dembele end up on the deck.
    • 7' Spurs really dominating the early stages. All QPR can do it try to soak up the pressure. But they've got a job on their hands.
    • 6' Wow, Spurs were inches from going in front there. Cesar did superbly to recover after diving to push the first shot onto the post and denied Adebayor who struck his sidefoot effort from 10 yards. Amazing double stop.
    • 5' So close Tottenham! Defoe cuts inside from the left and hits a powerful dipping shot that clangs back off the post and falls to Adebayor, who brings a sensational save from Julio Cesar!
    • 4' Today's ref, incidentally, is Lee Probert.
    • 4' A chorus of boos greets Gareth Bale's first touches. He finds Sandro who has a shot, but the whistle has gone for a QPR free-kick.
    • 3' The free-kick comes to nothing and Spurs stroke the ball around in the middle third.

    • 12:43 Zac Micallef @zac_mic chips in with a prediction: "Spurs team has just too much quality - tho 'arry's teams are always unpredictable. I say 3-2 to spurs!" I wouldn't be at all surprised if QPR took something from this. It's just got that sort of feel about it. Although of course you're right - Spurs are the far better side.

AVB has been surprisingly fond of 4-4-2 this season, and it's far from the first time Defoe and Adebayor have started today. I guess he wants to put QPR's doughty but aged centre-backs under as much pressure as possible. Also - and I say this more through gut feeling than anything - I'm not convinced Dempsey is actually that good.
