    • 90' SIDE NETTING ENRIQUE! Johnson left Guly for dead and flung over an excellent cross to the back stick but the other full-back put it wide.
    • 89' Lambert in space on the left, Gerrard with a desperate half-clearance and it almost drops for Davis but Skrtel hacks clear!
    • 88' Jeers as Suarez fails to keep the ball in play.

    • 44' Saints are all over Liverpool as they hem the Reds back in their final third. Now Ramirez with a superb run, skinning one man, and another but Enrique blocks and Jones can clear!

    • 39' GREAT SAVE BORUC! Made himself huge as Coutinho managed to get clean through, the finish not the strongest under pressure from Fonte. Johnson's ball released him.
    • 38' INCHES WIDE FROM RODRIGUEZ! Fantastic effort from the striker, taking down a long ball with one touch and rasping a half-volley with his second, beyond the dive of Jones and shaving the outside of the post!
    • 37' Sturridge is onside as he races away down the right, Agger has raced up in support but a superb interception from Fonte denies the defender!
    • 36' Officially the goal has been given to Lambert. Meanwhile, Lallana puts in a superb cross from the left but it's just over Rodriguez's head.

    • 34' I'm going to say that's an own-goal - the direction on the ball was completely changed by the deflection, probably wasn't going in.

    • 18' Allen with a sloppy foul as Liverpool struggle to get any rhythm to their play.
    • 17' A poor clearance from Agger lands at the feet of Rodriguez, who strikes it clean and low but too close to Jones, who parries and holds on to the second ball.
    • 15' Ramirez now with a long range effort but straight at Jones. All Saints so far!
    • 14' Southampton have a corner now, which the defence comes up for. Hooiveld almost connects but it flicks off the back of his head and away.
    • 13' Both sides exchange some uncharacteristically long balls, with Johnson's particularly poor as it sails out for a goal kick.
    • 12' Lambert gives away a free-kick as he overdoes the target man thing on Enrique.
    • 11' Coutinho just fails to release Suarez with one of those "look one way, play it the other" through-balls he likes.
    • 10' SHOULD HAVE BEEN 2-0! Lambert played clean through as the Liverpool offside trap failed dismally, just Jones to beat but he hesitated and fired straight at the Australian! Now Lallana picks it up on the left, great mazy run from him but he can't get the cross in and Liverpool scramble it clear!
    • 9' Lallana with a drive that flies about a yard over! Liverpool can't get out of their half!
    • 8' Liverpool are all at sea when Saints use the high ball! Great spell of pressure this!
    • 7' Lambert almost sends Lallana in down the right but Jones rushes out to gather ahead of the Saints skipper.
    • 6' GOAL SOUTHAMPTON! Morgan Schneiderlin with a cool finish after a great flick-on from Rodriguez after a fine angled cross by Ramirez!
    • 5' Shaw digs out a fantastic cross from the left wing, Ramirez tries an acrobatic volley but he scuffs the shot and Jones gathers easily.
    • 4' Lambert on the right plays over a hanging cross that drops beyond Lallana. Liverpool don't adequately clear though as Rodriguez has a shot, deflected and going wide but Johnson prevents the corner. Throw Saints. Good start to this match.
