Gareth Bale scored at both ends as hosts Tottenham climbed to fifth in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Liverpool. More
90'+2 Villas-Boas pumps a fist as Dowd blows the final whistle. Tottenham hold on to win 2-1, and record back-to-back wins after three straight defeats. For Liverpool, it is now just one win in nine matches in all competitions.
89' Enrique nudges Lennon to the flooe on the right, and gets a yellow card.
87' Tom Huddlestone comes on for Dembele.
81' Agger plays to the whistle and hooks the ball over his head from the touchline and finds Suarez near the penalty spot, but the Uruguayan is unable to keep his shot down.
78' Assaidi replaces Downing, so Enrique will drop back to left back from left midfield.
77' Sandro breaks and finds Bale, who leaves out a leg as he takes on Agger and is penalised for simulation. Yellow for Bale.
71' GOAL: And Liverpool are back in it after Bale puts through his own goal. Agger's flick on Shelvey's corner finds Gerrard to head towards goal, and Lennon's attempted clearance hits Bale on the face and goes into the goal.
68' Bale curls one towards the left hand top of the goal. Reina scrambles across but would not have made it, but it just goes over.
64' Shelvey replaces Henderson for Liverpool. Sigurdsson is on for Dempsey.
46' We are underway at White Hart Lane for the second half. Tottenham have had 9 shots, 5 of which have been on target, and 52 percent possession.
45'+1 Half-time at White Hart Lane. The hope for Liverpool in the second half is that Tottenham have only kept two clean sheets in the last 16 Premier League games.
37' Skrtel crashes into Dempsey on the halfway line, a really cynical challenge, and referee Phil Dowd rightly shows a yellow card.
36' Gerrard takes advantage of a Tottenham defensive mistake and puts in Suarez after falling over a Dembele tackle, but Walker is able to rush back and clear off the line.
14' GOAL: Tottenham make it 2-0, as Bale hits a free-kick that flicks off the hapless Henderson and past Reina. It is the first time he has scored three matches in a row, and it is 6 goals from 10 for Bale.
13' Henderson has a great chance to level, after Allen robs Defoe and Suarez feeds Luis Enrique down the left. Henderson had pretty much an open goal to aim at, as Lloris was in no-mans-land but Kyle Walker did well ro put the midfielder off.
7' GOAL: Bale drives from the halfway line down the left, and he skips past past Gerrard, Johnson and Allen, then gets the ball across to Lennon to tap home. As I predicted, a winger made the chance.
4' Joe Allen fouls Dempsey 35 yards out and Bale hits the free-kick. Pepe Reina saves it, and Glen Johnson clears the ball under pressure from Defoe.
1' We are off and underway. Tottenham in white, Liverpool in their change kit of black. Liverpool get us underway.

Tottenham HotspurManager: André Villas-Boas
LiverpoolManager: Brendan Rodgers
No football debate, just big or small abuse on these blogs, liverpool have a few problems, but not big ones. The Refs tend to pick on them (giving spurs too many free kicks). Football journalism and football debate is dead.
I thought Rodgers would do a good job, they look better but throw games away. Downing was a bad buy by Dalgish. He is supposed to be a forward but Rodgers plays him as a full back he was responsible for the first goal and he has Jamie Carragher sitting on the bench, seems I was wrong in the first place
the writing is on the wall........BR isnt the right man for LFC
bale & dafoe miss attempts on goal constantly & play selfish.dempsey has a couple misses & is pulled out too early#$%$? tottenham is lucky to have pulled out the win here.
Yesil is Better than Suarez !!!
We need owners like chelsea and QPR have who don't put up with this, can't believe rodgers still has the job, ok some of the players are #$%$ some to old now but it's the manager who picks the #$%$ and old and plays them out of position, i mean henderson as right back, cole on the right, come on, he's worse than hodgson, came from a bottom of the league side and took liverpool down to where he feels a home.
No matter who will be Liverpool manager because with the players they have now it will bring them nowhere !!!!! Compare to the other team and their players Liverpool players are on the championship level... Be smart who to buy and how to sell. Because Liverpool are sucking on businessses and its true....
you never ever walk alone ....................try try try how many manager?it not work ,have to get the right manager,do some thing, wait your time.
Rodgers:" I don't know what Steven Gerrard & Suarez have to do to get a penalty" Simples "Meerkats"...STOP DIVING.
rodgers well done another defeat you are so #$%$ as a manager its unbeliable..... are MUFC paying you to lose matches.. you have turned liverpool into a bunch of clowns...... please #$%$ off
Listening to Rodgers trying to cover his back was as embarrassing as it was funny. He claimed Liverpool were denied two certain penalties when both were certainly not penalties and claiming Dempsey dived when you've got Suarez team is hilarious.
You'll never walk with your heads held high again.no you'll never walk ........with your heads held high again. Brenda rodgers what a guy what a great appointment it's as good as when they paid £35 million for Carroll on their way downing
All together now.............................................." You're getting sacked in the morning" hahahaha.
Brendan Rogers what a waste of time. He talks about improvement. Is this improvement. Out of the cup mid table no strikers. What the hell is he doing. Sack him now before the January transfer window. Bring back Kenny. He won the cup and finished 8th. If he had been given another season we would be near the top by now.
MUFC 19. He,s a hero in Manchester Brenda Rodgers hope he stays at anxiousfield a long time
Well done Brainless Rogers, 16 points from a possible 42, you are the man!
