    • 90+4' FULL TIME. Dempsey's late, late strike gives Spurs a 1-1 draw at home to United!
    • 90+3' Spurs absolutely deserve that goal - they have been by far the better side today. Great for Lennon that he got the assist too.
    • 90+2' GOAL! Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United! Sensational! Clint Dempsey scores in the second added minute as he turns the ball home after Lennon crosses from a De Gea punch-out.
    • 90' We will have three added minutes...
    • 89' Fantastic again from Lennon as he darts in from the right and sees a shot blocked. He doesn't deserve to lose this game.
    • 89' More impressive defending from Ferdinand as he sticks out a toe to relieve Defoe of the ball. He has had a fine game.
    • 88' Can United hold on to restore their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League? It certainly looks that way.
    • 86' De Gea is caught on his toes as Bale cuts in from the left and fires in a shot that is deflected just wide by the head of Ferdinand.
    • 84' Spurs want a corner but De Gea appears to have just kept the ball in play. More frustration for the home side.
    • 83' Dembele gets a shot away but he hurries it and the ball flies well off target. Time running out for Spurs now.
    • 81' Defoe gets a snapshot away from inside the box but his effort rolls straight at De Gea. An easy save for the keeper.
    • 81' A change for Spurs as Parker is replaced by Tom Huddlestone in midfield.
    • 80' Rooney is the fourth United player booked as he hauls down the lively Lennon.
    • 79' Fantastic defending! Lennon hares forward and finds Defoe in space in the box. He winds up to shoot from 10 yards out and pulls the trigger, but Ferdinand slides in with a perfectly -timed tackle to block the effort. Superb.
    • 78' Lennon delivers a good cross from the right and it finds Bale, who tries to hit the ball on the volley and only succeeds in sending it high into the air.
    • 77' Rafael enters the book and is the third United player to be booked.
    • 76' Van Persie turns the ball at Lloris with a first-time volley off the instep but the Dutchman is offside when doing so.
    • 75' A change for United as Antonio Valencia comes on for Cleverley, who has looked bright in patches. Unlike today's weather. Boom.
    • 73' What a frustrating afternoon for Tottenham: they have been well on top and have created by far the better chances, yet find themselves a goal down still.
    • 71' Oops. Bale takes a tumble over the advertising hoardings. He has a smile on his face though.
    • 69' Welbeck looks in real pain - not quite sure what happened though.
    • 68' Rafael and Cleverley combine down the right and the former delivers a dangerous cross that almost finds Welbeck at the back post. A rare hint of a threat from United.
    • 67' Dempsey has a shot deflected into the side netting but Van Persie clears from the following corner. Surely Dempsey will make one of these chances stick soon?
    • 66' Replays of the Rooney penalty incident show that Caulker did actually catch him and it could well have been a spot-kick. Expect Fergie to bring that up if United don't win - and even if they do.
    • 65' Finally Tottenham make their change as Assou-Ekotto comes on for Naughton at left-back.
    • 64' Rooney immediately appeals for a penalty after a touch in the box but it's a hopeful shot and goes unheeded.
    • 63' A change for United as Wayne Rooney replaces Kagawa.
    • 62' Bale delivers a wicked cross from the left but Lennon can't get on the end of it at the back post.
    • 61' Dempsey has another opening but this time his effort from outside the box lacks pace and dribbles through to De Gea. He has been very wasteful today.
    • 60' Tottenham are readying Benoit Assou-Ekotto on the sidelines...
    • 59' Carrick with another important tackle on Lennon. He really has been vital for United as they seek to keep Spurs at bay.
    • 58' Stat from Infostrada: "Tottenham have scored 28 second half PL goals this season. However, today’s opponents Manchester United (30) have scored more, as have Manchester City (29)."
    • 56' United have been a bit lacklustre in the final third - though Carrick has been playing well in a deeper position.
    • 55' Tottenham have had by far the better chances in this match - but Van Persie's header still separates the two teams.
    • 53' Stat from Opta: "Spurs have lost just one of their last 10 Premier League matches (W7 D2 L1)."
    • 52' Now Kagawa pulls a weak shot wide of the post for United. They could so easily have been pegged back there.
    • 51' Spurs go close! Dembele breaks through the heart of the United defence with a super dribble and squares for Dempsey. His first touch puts him 10 yards from goal and with De Gea at his mercy, but the shot is too close to the United keeper, who touches it round the post.
    • 49' Bale picks up possession following a header from Caulker and tries a rather ambitious effort with the outside of his left boot. He gets too much on it and the ball flies over the bar.
    • 48' Caulker attacks a corner from the left but the defender can't get a clean header away.
    • 47' Now United attack and Evra and Kagawa combine before the ball is rolled to Welbeck. He gets a shot away but Mousa Dembele produces a superb block.
    • 46' An early chance for Tottenham after the restart but Defoe lashes a shot wide of the post .
    • 46' KICK OFF!
    • 45+3' HALF TIME. Van Persie's fine header has United in front at Tottenham.
    • 45+2' Walker's delivery goes out of play before reaching the box though. A real waste of a corner.
    • 45+2' Here comes Dempsey though and he wins a corner off Carrick...
    • 45+1' Nothing comes of it - or the next corner as the half starts to peter out.
    • 45' Corner to United following some unconvincing defending from Caulker...
    • 44' Evra into the book for a blatant foul on Lennon. No argument there.
    • 42' United mount an assault now but eventually Cleverley's cross has too much on it and flies out of play.
    • 40' Spurs threaten as Bale delivers a delicious free-kick to the back post where Caullker is looming. United heard away, but Spurs regain possession and the ball finds its way to Bale, who from 20 yards unleashes a fearsome bouncing shot that takes a touch off Jones before being stopped by the legs of De Gea at pace.
    • 38' Dempsey has moved to the left of the attack with Gareth Bale now attacking from a central position behind Defoe. The Spurs fans don't like it much.
    • 37' Up the other end, Kyle Walker does well to hold off Welbeck as the United forward tries to wriggle free in the box.
    • 36' Dempsey tries to play in Defoe with a quick pass but the striker is knocked to the ground by Carrick. There was contact but calls for a penalty were probably a bit hopeful.
    • 35' Dempsey tries to create a chance for Spurs but De Gea is alert and boots the ball downfield.
    • 34' The chances have dried up for Spurs now and United are settling into a stride.
    • 33' Stat from Opta: "Robin van Persie has scored more than one headed goal for the first time in a single Premier League season. Frontman."
    • 32' Dawson sends an important clearance behind for a corner. United go short before Van Persie produces a poor cross.
    • 31' What do Spurs have in the tank then? They have a notoriously bad record against Manchester United but AVB has them well drilled.
    • 30' Stat from Infostrada: "Robin van Persie scores his 18th goal in 23 PL matches for Manchester United."
    • 29' Michael Dawson goes into the book for a crunching challenge on Evra. He was trying for the ball but caught him a bit late.
    • 27' Tottenham try to respond quickly and Defoe fires in a low effort from a tight angle on the turn. De Gea is alert to it though and bats the ball away at his near post.
    • 26' It was a fine assist from Cleverley, it must be said, but Van Persie produces the goods yet again. What a season he is having for United.
    • 25' GOAL! Tottenham 0-1 Man Utd! Guess who? A brilliant header from Robin van Persie at the back post. Cleverley delivered the cross after receiving the ball wide from Welbeck.
    • 23' Bale is becoming more and more involved and keeps popping up everywhere on the pitch. United need to keep him quiet if possible.
    • 22' Naughty. Carrick goes into the book against his former side when chopping down Dempsey in clumsy fashion.
    • 21' The snow continues to tip down in North London but the undersoil heating is doing its job. Nothing settling.
    • 20' Welbeck is harshly penalised for a foul on Parker when it looked as though he had wriggled away from the Tottenham midfielder.
    • 18' Superb defensive work from Lennon as he chases Evra to win the ball back. He has been some player this season for AVB.
    • 17' Stat from Opta: "Robin van Persie has scored five goals and has five assists in his last 10 Premier League games against Tottenham."
    • 16' Vidic gets a bang to the head when challenging Defoe in the air. He looks a bit dazed.
    • 15' Well, it hasn't been a thriller so far at the Lane. Spurs have had the best chance with Lennon's low drive though.
    • 14' Lennon drives purposefully through midfield and drills in a low effort that De Gea pushes out into the path of Defoe. The striker is offside though as he tries to beat the Spaniard and fails.
    • 13' Jones tries to lift a pass over the top of the defence for Van Persie but the Dutchman can't really trouble Lloris with the flicked header.
    • 11' Parker tries to release Dempsey with a quick pass but it comes back off Rio Ferdinand and into the path of the midfielder. He then tries to bend a shot into the top corner but finds the stand.
    • 10' Again, Spurs fail to make anything of the set-piece.
    • 9' Aaron Lennon shows quick feet to nick the ball away from Patrice Evra and is brought to ground by a stray leg from the Frenchman.
    • 8' Stat from Infostrada: "Tottenham have scored the opening goal 14 times in PL this season – only Chelsea (15) have done so more times in the division."
    • 7' Rafael attempts to open up the Spurs defence with a well-timed through ball for Van Persie but he doesn't quite put the right weight on the ball and it is intercepted.
    • 6' Nothing comes of it, though Clint Dempsey then unleashes a ferocious volley that is blocked by a red shirt in close attendance.
    • 5' Nemanja Vidic brings Jermain Defoe to ground with a very clumsy tackle 25 yards from goal. Free-kick to Spurs.
    • 4' Another poor kick from Lloris - maybe the conditions are having an effect, though there's hardly any snow on the ground really.
    • 3' United are indeed starting with Danny Welbeck wide on the right while Shinji Kagawa is playing just off Van Persie - it's not a particularly symmetrical three-man attack.
    • 2' A nervy kick out for Hugo Lloris in the Tottenham goal but an otherwise low-key start to proceedings.
    • 1' KICK OFF! Spurs attacking right to left.
    • 16:00 Here come the two teams at an ice-cold White Hart Lane. There isn't too much snow actually on the turf though so conditions are fine to play.

    • 15:50 Manchester City won at home to Fulham yesterday so Unite currently have a lead of only four points. This, their game in hand, comes against a side that defeated them at Old Trafford earlier in the season. Spurs are nicely placed in fourth and can extend their lead over Arsenal to nine points with a win here.
    • 15:45 Victory at Old Trafford earlier this season ended a run of 22 Premier League games without a win for Spurs against Manchester United (W0 D5 L17). Manchester United have won eight and lost none of their last 11 Premier League matches at White Hart Lane.
    • 15:40 And following Sandro's injury there is a place on the Tottenham bench for Jake Livermore, who had been on the verge of a loan move to QPR. AVB: "The only thing we have done at the moment is hold on to our midfielders, the ones who are here. We have put on hold the movement of Jake Livermore's possible loan to another club. It is not out of the question, I think we are still pretty happy with what we have." Tottenham's Sandro out for rest of season
    • 15:35 Phil Jones's inclusion in midfield follows news that Darren Fletcher will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to treat his chronic bowel condition. Fletcher ruled out for rest of the season
    • 15:30 As for United, Wayne Rooney drops to the bench after starting Wednesday's FA Cup replay against West Ham. Phil Jones starts in a three-man central midfield, while Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck support Robin van Persie up front.
    • 15:25 Andre Villas-Boas shuffles his back four yet again, with Steven Caulker coming in for Jan Vertonghen in the centre. Scott Parker starts in central midfield with Sandro out for the season, and Clint Dempsey plays up front as Emmanuel Adebayor is away at the African Cup of Nations.
    • 15:20 Welcome to a snowy White Hart Lane for live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur versus Manchester United in the Premier League! This match goes ahead despite snowy conditions in North London. Ground staff have been clearing snow off the pitch all day and referee Chris Foy gave the surface the OK in a late inspection at 14:50.

  1. If they played Friedel in goal they win that game. Silly goal to let in on the short side. Not good enough in this league.

From DAC, on Sat 26 Jan 5:39
  2. I see the whingers are at it again, they cannot make one decent comment amongst the lot of them. I bet if they follow football and have a team they support they would like to have Sir Alex as there manager. Come on at least one of you and be HONEST for once and answer that question.

From Devilinred, on Wed 23 Jan 15:35
  3. The only supporter of Totternam based in Chimwemwe township Zambia. Hotspus am behind u.

From Kelvin Mutale, on Wed 23 Jan 9:44
  4. Kasagga Willy, if Young and Nani had played it would have opened the wings up for the far quicker and superior Lennon and Bale. Then Utd would have been pummeled even harder. Man Utd should realize how lucky they were not to be thrashed and move on to the next game.

From Diogenes, on Wed 23 Jan 8:09
  5. Hate United :D

From Andrew, on Tue 22 Jan 17:22
  6. If NANI and or YOUNG was/ were in the weekend's matcth, then together with ROONEY they would have kept the ball in the wings using count attack techiniques to deny TOT a chance of playing in UTD's box and hence getting an equalizer.

From Kasagga Willy, on Tue 22 Jan 12:05
  7. the match was good but l like to manchester uinote should win ...by joseph chintoh

  12. I think they are right....with RVP Man U are a really a poor mediocre middle of the league side. I don't think I've seeen such a poor Man U side for a long time.

  13. This poor mediocre Man U team will win.......NOTHING....and I can tell you that for free

  15. Why can these over paid incompetent millionairres cannot just hold the ball and see the game out for one to two minutes....poor really. Worst United side for years

From Politician Stole My Money, on Mon 21 Jan 21:55
  16. This is the worst Man U side I have seen in years.....they can't defend , they can't keep the ball , they can't pass to a man in their own team....they just hump it away anywhere.....pooor to say the least

From Politician Stole My Money, on Mon 21 Jan 21:53
  17. The questions shouldnt be "how did we not win" but "how did we not lose" be nice to see if the FA have the bottle to charge the has been!! very good once, but clearly past his best now, i'm sure the manure fans are too blind to see how embarrassing their manager has become..... but its plain to see for all those that dont feel the need to lick his backside clean at all times.....to see the man is old, cant see how bad he has become. I can only presume his age and time in the job combined have bred this arogant big head, that whilst i admire what he has done and did respect his achievments, these are now waining fast. Needs to accept his team isnt as good as they think and that when draws and defeats come, show honour and respect to the other teams (ok im dreaming) but to hang the draw to one decision, is a total disgrace, specially when you think the chances spurs had, they were lucky to still be in the game..... Van Persie is making the team look far better than it is, you cant just say this as such i agree, but take van persie out, and what are you left with..... Unanswerable! but you get my point i'm sure Looking forward to fergie stepping aside and seeing a united that earns my respect again and im sure lots of others, i'm a sports fan and love sport, so whilst i follow city and always want them to win... i dont fall into the catagory of ppl who hate united, i dont, but they as a team, club and supporters have got to become more respectful of others and be more sporting. Its time for the FA to stand up and say like they do to all the other managers, its not on or acceptable and charge him, it wont change him, but it will at least show the fans of all the other teams that the FA arent scared of him.... ctid

From PETER, on Mon 21 Jan 18:34
  18. How the hell could ManU blow their chances of beating Spurs this season? For the first time since 1989-90 season, they failed to beat the team whose manager now was once fired by Chelsea within 8 months in that job?! It's like Blackburn loss last year that ruined their title chase.

From Kidding!, on Mon 21 Jan 17:10
  19. Dont think United fans should be to worried, this game and set up looked like a dummy run for Madrid

From Adam, on Mon 21 Jan 15:32
  20. I have said it again and again that man u is the most inconsistent of the big title-chaser teams. They make one step forward only to take three backwards. They are supposed to be the leaders yet their defence act like a sieve conceding goals right left and centre, and their defenders are just a bunch of mickey mouse. I mean city is playing with style and are catching up. You would have thought Alex has learned his lesson of last season miss but NO. There were maybe a minute to go or just seconds yet they could not keep out Dempsey and spurs were doing all the attacking and were coming like an avalanche onto the goal. You would have thought they would throw more bodies there to block any attemp at the goal, just do anything to clinch the 3 points but NO. That is not the style of true champion.
