Tottenham Hotspur's run of Premier League form came to a juddering halt as they lost 1-0 to Wigan at White Hart Lane. More
90+6' There's the final whistle and Wigan have pulled off a superb win at Tottenham! A smattering of boos ring out around White Hart Lane - and Spurs have been terrible - but Wigan deserve credit for a brilliant performance.
85' OOOOFFFF!!! Maynor Figueroa absolutely smashes the free-kick from fully 35-yards and it flashes just over! Friedel was beaten by the pace of that.
80' Kone plays a brilliant little through ball to Gomez whose shot is blocked - that would have been a superb goal from Wigan.
79' As we wait for play to restart, Spurs make their final change: Tom Carroll replaces Kyle Walker.
69' Bale's corner is deep to Caulker, whose header is cleared off the line by McCarthy at the back post!
66' Pinball in the Wigan box but Spurs can't get a proper shot away... then Bale strikes from outside the area and Al-Habsi flaps it to safety!
59' Boof! Vertonghen absolutely smashes a left-foot shot that hits Emmerson Boyce and goes behind for a corner.
57' Instant reaction from AVB - he brings on Emmanuel Adebayor for Jermain Defoe. And that's not a terrifically popular move.
55' GOAL!! Wigan in front! There's confusion as Watson's shot is cleared off the line but the officials say it is over! It's a good decision as for some reason Friedel is a good yard behind his line!
50' Another yellow card, this time as Maynor Figueroa flies in on Aaron Lennon.
46' And immediately we have a yellow card for Clint Dempsey, for leaping to charge down a free-kick at point blank range.
46' Off we go, second half under way.
45+2' Well, that's the end of a distinctly uninspiring half of football from Tottenham. Wigan should be in front. Back in a few minutes.
44' What a chance for Ben Watson! Kone tees him up at the edge of the box and he curls his shot over Friedel's goal!
34' Friedel saves Tottenham again! Kone finds Maloney who beats the offside trap and is clean through - but the veteran goalkeeper makes a fine save!
28' KONE!! Cracking interplay between the strikers to open up Spurs and the Ivorian's shot is stopped by Friedel!
23' There indeed is the change - Gylfi Sigurdsson replaces Sandro. I guess he will sit in alongside Huddlestone in central midfield.
21' Vertonghen meets a dropping ball at the edge of the box with a difficult but well-struck volley that Al-Habsi is equal to!
2' Watson gives it away with sloppy pass and Dempsey races through the right channel. he has Defoe in the middle but goes for goal... and it deflects behind for a corner.
1' Off we go! Tottenham kick off, playing from left to right as we see it. They are all in white, with Wigan all in black.

levy should sallow his pride, get rid of avb who doesn,t understand english football and bring back harry before its to late. harry did and still could do a fantasic job spurs///
I fear for us now, real tough games coming up, plus quite a few teams playing very well in the top half, could be mid table by Christmas, and if we get a few more injuries who knows where it could end. I hope I am very wrong!!!!
Spurs over confidence was there weakness against Wigan, you got to show these small clubs some respect cause they will give you a good game....coming from Spurs fan well played Wigan you deserved it.
levy swallow your pride, get rid of avb and bring back happy before its to late
I would like to see Roberto Martinez coach a team that has some financial backing. I liked AVB but he should have staied in Portugal
Same old year on year out. Spurs falling against weaker teams then wondering why at the end of the season they didn't get into the C.L. And, to add; AVB - you're not the long term prospect you think you're. I sincerely think that Levy is to blame too - why let our Dutch creative attacking midfielder go then get in Dempsey who IMHO isn't as great as he looked at Fulham as of course they aren't quite up to the level us Spurs fans know our team is. Shame really I was excited at the start of this season only to start thinking (after only 10 games) we'll be mid-table or somewhere in-between that and 5th.
bring back Harry and get some decent players instead of some of the rubbish we have, to loss to a team like Wigan, last week it was Norwich, its a degrace the players should be ashamed of themselves, spurs team should be getting better not worse, TIME TO GET RID
boo spuers and rubish manager by the way and why did you buy demsey he olal scored 5 goals for fulam and onlie scored 1 goal at spures and for your informashan it was by a pen woslas ! come on chelsea !
Why can't AVB play two upfront ? especially at home to Wigan...which shows his lack of confidence in his strikers.
Well played Wigan.
O Yes
AVB is no tactician. All he does is set out his team in a rigid 4-2-3-1 system and looks on from the touch line like a little boy lost. Clueless. His countdown has begun. He most certainly cannot make Spurs better. His best efforts will be to match Harry's achievements, never exceed it in a million years, so why bother with him?
BEST TEAM WON!!!!!
Would you all give the man a break. It is early in the season. Not every game we would win. Yes we are disappointed with the result but that is football. so let's support Spurs and stop the complaining.
which means i cant see the blog messages
nearly as bad as yahoo footie coverage
early doors still but that was dreadful
so the portuguese wonder boy still cannot get spurs to beat lower sides and as already shown this season still has the same defective defence, when will they stop letting goals in important matches in thelast ten minutes or stoppage time, prefer harry
Colossal mistake sacking Rednap. Spurs would be definite top four with him at the helm. AVB was clueless at Chelsea and nothing's changed. He doesn't seem able to motivate players. .
