- 58' Mulumbu plays a pass into Fortune in the box and the forward tries to return the favour with a backheel. However, it lacks direction and instead of being clever that just comes across as sloppy.

The striker was through, even if Lescott was arriving to the side.- 21' And there's the more palatable side of Balotelli. He pulls down a cross-field pass with a gorgeous first touch and picks out Tevez with a cross. His hooked volley from the near side of the box flies wide though.
- 19' Speak of the devil. Balotelli goes into the referee's book when clattering into Yacob from behind and knocking him to the floor after the ball has gone. What a silly challenge.
- 18' A lull in proceedings at the Hawthorns. This game does have a very combative edge though, with Toure and Balotelli mixing things up.
- 16' There's all kinds of nonsense going on in the box and referee Mark Clattenburg wants words with both Toure and Ridgewell, who in turn want words with each other. The corner is headed out at the near post.
- 15' Nasri with the corner and Micah Richards rises highest to send a header looping at goal. It might just be going over but Foster helps it on its way with an outstretched arm. Another corner.
- 14' City are moving the ball with real purpose now and Milner finds space on the right to curl in a wicked cross towards Balotelli, who is beaten to the ball by Gareth McAuley. Corner to City.
- 13' Balotelli cuts in from the left to lose Tamas and curls in a low effort that Foster gets down to save. The Italy striker has looked bright so far today.
- 12' Tamas and Balotelli are involved in another coming together as a stray boot from the defender catches the City striker. That is already becoming quite a feud. One to watch.
- 11' City show off with some intricate passing in the West Brom box but Ben Foster clutches the ball when the cross comes in from Nasri.
- 9' Fortune races after a ball over the top from James Morrison into the right channel and though he gets his head to it, the big forward can't prevent the ball from sneaking out for a throw to City.
- 8' A good tempo from the home side as West Brom press with intent in their own half. City are playing the ball around nicely though.
- 7' However, it is Nasri who takes the free kick and his effort strikes Tamas in the wall and goes behind for a penalty. Richards gets his head to the delivery but Balotelli is penalised for a pull on the shirt of Tamas.

- 3' Ouch. When the free kick is cleared back out to Fortune he tries to sneak around Yaya Toure and treads on the top of the Ivorian's foot. The travelling fans all mouth the word 'metatarsal' but Toure hobbles on and is okay to continue.

- 14:55 City look very narrow again today with Milner, Nasri, Barrry and Toure in midfield and Tevez and Balotelli in attack. Mind you, so are West Brom, who are also lacking natural width. This game could get very congested in the middle of the park.
- 14:50 One name to look out for today is West Brom midfielder Claudio Yacob. He has made a very good impression since his summer move from Racing and the Argentine brings a bit of class to the home midfield.
- 14:45 Time for some stats from Opta: "West Brom have failed to score in their last four Premier League games against Manchester City. Manchester City have fired in more shots on target than any other team in the top flight (48). Carlos Tevez has scored five goals in four Premier League appearances against West Brom."
- 14:40 City have only won two of their past seven games in all competitions and sit joint second with Manchester United on 15 points from seven games. Chelsea are a further four points ahead, and they are currently 4-2 up at Spurs in injury time, so City will be facing a seven-point gap by the time this game kicks off.

Why is dzeko always a sub?
Why isn't Lukaku in the starting 11??? He's a natural scorer, amazingly creative and by all accounts, a good team-mate as well!!! Were he on at the start, maybe WBA could have closed out the Billionaires!!! Wouldn't THAT have been a turn up for the books!!!

Mark Clattenber will be very disapointed with this result. He worked very hard for his boss a. ferguson to help WBA , but he just came short of what was expected from him
