    • West Ham United
    • Stoke City

    • 88' Demel flicks the ball on. Reid heads at goal, but no power in the effort as Begovic makes a comfortable stop.
    • 87' West Ham earn a corner here in the closing moments, but Taylor's delivery is nodded away. But he will get another bite at the cherry here.

    • 85' McCartney almost finding a route to goal in that packed visiting box, but Begovic pulls of the stop. Decent run and cross, but Stoke survive.

    • 83' Another change coming here for West Ham as Carlton Cole takes over from Andy Carroll for the home team.
    • 82' The visiting side look like they would be the happier side with the point. Have managed little of note in this second period.
    • 81' Stoke have only scored once in the last 15 minutes of any Premier League match this season. West Ham have netted three times during this period.
    • 80' Ball breaks to Demel on the edge of the Stoke City box, but he thrashes his effort well wide of the goal. Poor finish really.

    • 75' Guy Demel is brought on to take over from O'Brien, who is given a healthy ovation from the home fans.
    • 74' This match could yet swing either way. Stoke have scored only three second half goals this season – fewer than any other Premier League club.

    • 72' Adam tries to release Walters and Etherington, but the offside flag foils that raid on the home goal.
    • 71' West Ham being patient here in their build-up play. Some nice work by O'Neill and McCartney in possession.
    • 70' Stoke finding space difficult to come by in the West Ham area. Nolan meanwhile is off the park looking at his foorwear by the looks of things.
    • 69' Walters goes for goal, but this time is well off target with his shot. That will be a goalkick to the home side.
    • 68' O'Neil throws over a corner, but all too easy for Stoke as Palacios just thumps the ball away.
    • 67' Palacios and Etherington looking for a shooting chance, but eventually O'Brien does the necessary with a telling clearance.
    • 66' Stoke have scored two or more goals in only two of their last 15 Premier League away matches – at the DW Stadium and Old Trafford.
    • 65' Nolan powers into the opposition box. Tried to get the ball into the area, but it comes back off him for a goalkick to Stoke.
    • 64' Plenty of tackles flying in as Huth goes through O'Neil. Referee doesn't see anything wrong with that challenge. And on we go. With the score level at 1-1.
    • 63' Noble back in his own box to head clear the delivery from Adam.
    • 62' O'Neil swings a shot inches wide of the goal. Lovely pass from Diame, but the finish just flies wide. Superb stuff from the home side. Well-worked set-piece.
    • 61' A change here for Stoke as Whelan departs to be replaced by Wilson Palacios.
    • 60' Begovic comes off his line to hammer the ball away with Maiga closing down space. West Ham utterly transformed in this second period.
    • 59' Three of West Ham’s current four defenders have now scored in the Premier League this season. Left back George McCartney is the only one yet to find the net.
    • 58' High balls being slung into that Stoke area with some regularity, but the visiting side somehow do enough to survive. Whelan forced to whack a shot away yards from his goal.
    • 57' Nolan and Shotton go for a high ball in the Stoke box. Nolan claims he was being fouled in the area, but the referee says no.
    • 56' Carroll wins a header in the area. Maiga tries a shot at goal, but the Stoke defence scramble the ball away.

    • 54' Carroll takes a bit of a blow defending a high ball with Huth in there challenging.
    • 53' Tomkins thumps the ball off a red and white striped shirt for a corner, but Stoke get the ball up the park again.
    • 52' Whelan with a late challenge on Diame. Poor tackle really by the Stoke midfielder.
    • 51' Nolan seeking out Carroll, but couldn't lift the chip over Huth. West Ham looking a whole lot brighter here.
    • 50' The home fans enjoying their night out here as West Ham United continue to surge up the park.
    • 49' Joey O’Brien scored his first ever Premier Leagu goal in his 58th appearance in the division.
    • 48' GOAL! O'Brien levels for West Ham from close range. Lovely cross from O'Neil and the Hammers are level. Stoke paying the price for nodding off.
    • 47' Nolan almost scores for West Ham. Ball cames off his shin and Begovic makes the stop on the line. First time West Ham have got in behind Stoke tonight. Lovely ball from McCarthy.
    • 46' Stoke get this second half off and running.
    • 45+2' There goes the whistle for the break! A 1-0 lead for Stoke at half-time.
    • 44' We are into two minutes of time added on to this first half.
    • 43' West Ham have been the more accurate side in possession and have enjoyed 57 percent of the ball, but Stoke have managed to gobble up most of these second balls.
    • 42' West Ham searching for this equaliser before the break. Diame rifles the ball into the box, but no takers on hand to convert.
    • 41' Nolan off the park at the moment before rejoining the action. Begovic will launch it long for Stoke City.
    • 40' Was a fairly bone-shuddering challenge involving Ryan Shotton that caused that problem there.
    • 39' Nolan is down on the ground here. And looks like he is needing some treatment. Big Sam Allardyce looking a bit concerned here.
    • 38' West Ham have failed to score only twice in their last 12 Premier League matches at Upton Park.
    • 37' Maiga tries to likewise at the other attempt, but hammers the ball well wide of the goal. No wonder he is raising his hand in apology.
    • 36' NZonzi cracks a shot off the bar from outside the area. So close for Stoke to a second goal.
    • 35' First yellow card of the night sees Noble booked for a late challenge on Walters.
    • 34' Nzonzi decides to crack a volley at goal, but that effort flies a few yards wide. Plenty of power on that without the direction.
    • 33' O'Neil on the charge for West Ham. Knocks the ball off Shotton, but the referee thought otherwise. A goalkick again to the visiting team.
    • 32' Stoke boss Pulis must be reasonably happy with how this is working out as Carroll earns his side a free-kick in the visiting half. But nothing comes of it.
    • 31' It is two-and-a-half years since West Ham last came back to win a Premier League home match after conceding the opening goal – the 3-2 victory against Wigan in April 2010.
    • 30' Ryan Shotton is going to replace the injured Andy Wilkinson for the visiting side.
    • 29' Strong appeals against Shawcross for a push on the back of Carroll going for a high ball, but the referee isn't interested.
    • 28' Begovic pulls off a heroic stop from Tomkins' header, but the ball had drifted out of play from the corner-kick. A goalkick then to the visiting team.
    • 27' Chance for Nolan in the Stoke area, but Begovic makes the stop to ensure West Ham remain without a goal this evening.
    • 26' Diame on another charging run, this time down a flank. Manages to get the ball into the area, but no takers on hand to convert.
    • 25' Walters can't keep a long ball across field in play as it trickles out for a goalkick to the home team.
    • 24' Diame trying to bundle his way in on goal, but is finally halted in his tracks by the bravery of Begovic, who dives low to claim the loose ball.
    • 23' Jussi Jaaskelainen forced to claw out the header from Huth. That was nearly the second. West Ham toiling to deal with the height of Stoke.
    • 22' Carroll wins a header in the middle of the Stoke area. Gets the ball on target, but no power on the effortl. Easy for Begovic.
    • 21' Carroll wins a header in the air. No real direction on the ball though as Wilkinson again turns to knock it long.
    • 20' Shawcross jumps highest to head away the danger before McCartney is forced to knock the ball out of play as Stoke get back on the front foot.
    • 19' Huth penalised for a bit of pushing and the Hammers have a free-kick at the halfway line.
    • 18' Nzonzi brings the ball out from the back before picking out Etherington as Stoke look to build up a decent passing momentum.
    • 17' That ball spending some time in the air at the moment, but Stoke with the only two attempts at goal of the match.
    • 16' Stoke with plenty of bodies back as Carroll fouls Wilkinson battling for a high ball. Ball actually went through Carroll on the line for the goal.
    • 15' A sluggish start to this match by the home side and they have paid the price by falling behind. Adam tries to chip the ball into the home net from his own half. Didn't have the range or direction for that.
    • 14' Stoke have failed to win in their last 15 Premier League away matches – their longest run without a top flight away victory since a club record 36-match streak from 1984 to 2009 (set over two periods in the division). Could that be about to end this evening?
    • 13' No need for McCartney to concede that corner. Should make for an interesting night now in London. Walters's second goal of the season.
    • 12' GOAL! Walters bangs the ball into the net from a Whelan corner. Eight yards out or so. Brilliantly worked corner-kick and Stoke have the lead.
    • 11' Probing play between Adam and Crouch, but McCartney is on hand to make the clearance. And had to look lively there.
    • 10' McCartney looks for Nolan or Carroll in the middle. Plenty of height under the ball as Begovic comes off his line to pluck the ball out of the air.
    • 9' Crouch again winning a ball in the middle from a Nzonzi header on, but no power on the goal attempt as Jussi Jaaskelainen collects.
    • 8' Huth is next to make a decent clearance. Huth sporting a superb Movember moustache it must be said. Nolan on the run, but is caught narrowly offside from Carroll's flick on.
    • 7' West Ham yet to cut open this Stoke defence as Shawcross shows his awareness to clear the ball under pressure.
    • 6' Stoke have scored only 25 Premier League goals in 2012 – equal-fewest in the division with Aston Villa (of Premier League clubs who have played in both seasons during this calendar year).
    • 5' Begovic shows his handling skills by coming off his line to collect a corner. Good work by the Stoke goalkeeper.
    • 4' Chance early on for Stoke. Crouch nods the ball into Adam's path, but he lifts the volley well over the bar. Decent chance not taken by Stoke.
    • 3' Diame just fails to keep the ball in from Noble's deep corner. Stoke will try to settle themselves down here. The home fans eager for three points.
    • 2' West Ham are only two short of their total of seven wins in the whole of their last Premier League season in 2010-11. Maiga throws over a cross, but Whelan is back to head behind his own goal.
    • 1' We are off and running then as West Ham bid for fifth spot in the Premier League table.
    • 19.55 Teams out on the park and we are almost ready to go here. "I'm forever blowing bubbles" bubbling away in the background as Big Sam takes his seat in the technical area. West Ham going to get this one started.
    • 19.50 Match odds for this one in case you fancy a bet this evening: West Ham evens, Stoke 14/5, Draw 12/5.
    • 19.45 If West Ham win today they will move up to fifth in the table with 21 points from 12 matches – their most points at this stage of a top flight season in 28 years (since 1984-85 under manager John Lyall)
    • 19.40 Tony Pulis on Allardyce: “Each to their own. I don’t think he pays too much attention to what people do or do not think. He gets the job done and he has done a wonderful job at West Ham. It was very difficult for him. They played in the Championship, were the top team in the Championship and everyone would have wanted to knock them off their pedestal. It is difficult when it is like that, but he got them promoted in one season and they have had a great start this year.”
    • 19.35 Sam Allardyce: "Tony (Pulis) has suffered his fair share of criticism down the years for the way his teams play - but not from me. I believe the art of good defending is the catalyst to your team’s success - or otherwise. Tony, like all managers, is governed by his club’s resources. Within those limits he has to try and maximise achievement - and consistently. If that happens then the team become successful."
    • 19:30 Stoke are unchanged from the 1-0 win at QPR. Glenn Whelan limped off in the Republic of Ireland's friendly against Greece this week with a hamstring complaint and has undergone a scan today to assess the extent of the problem. Fellow Potters midfielders Dean Whitehead (suspension) and Rory Delap (hernia) and defender Marc Wilson (broken leg) are definitely ruled out, and striker Michael Owen (hamstring) almost certainly is, but manager Tony Pulis has midfielder Charlie Adam available.
    • 19:25 West Ham manager Sam Allardyce leaves James Collins on the bench. Collins was amongst the substitutes for the 1-0 win at Newcastle as James Tomkins retains his spot. Full-back Guy Demel is also on the bench. Matthew Taylor is also on the bench having returned to training following a calf problem but Jack Collison (knee) and Ricardo Vaz Te (shoulder) are out. Matt Jarvis and Yossi Benayoun are out having picked up injuries in the win at St James' Park.
    • 19:20 Teams: West Ham United: Jaaskelainen, O'Brien, McCartney, Reid, Tomkins, Noble, Diame, Nolan, O'Neil, Maiga, Carroll..subs: Spiegel, Collins, Taylor, Cole, Hall, Spence, Demel////Stoke City: Begovic; Cameron, Huth, Shawcross (c), Wilkinson; Walters, Whelan, Nzonzi, Etherington; Adam; Crouch..subs: Sorensen, Palacios, Jones, Upson, Kightly, Shotton, Jerome

I still think we should play with 2 wingers.........let charlie play in mid field and put Jon walters back in behind Crouch....Walters aint a winger!!!! we now have 3 quality wide men so why not use them? Come on you mighty Potters........RS4Stoke

  6. Well pointed out Steve, most of these on this forum only support the likes of Man Utd , Chelsea or Man City because they're at the top of the league. I admire the ones that stick to a team ( a local side) and support them through thick and thin. Another point for you Steve, I do remember that if any team is nearing the title at the end of the season and they're up against West Ham, more often or not, they lose the game? LOL (remembering a title race where Man Utd needed to beat West Ham to win the title and they got beat, well and truely, lovely jubbly)

  7. hey andy i so agree with you,,,, for the likes of,,ManU ManC Arsenal Chelsea Spurs Liverpool.well there just money bags,, and lets face it they have brought the prem tittle,, id love to see those managers at the money clubs get buy on the budget the smaller clubs are on,, yes West Ham are a very small family club,,, but who won the World Cup for England,, back in 66,,as to my mind ummmm,, no other club had managed to do as of yet, ????? also those idiots mouthing West Ham off,, dident West Ham turn over manC two weeks ago,, oh yeah we played the ref in that game, but hey we still won that game,, never the less, it was a good goal disallowed, ok i dout were finish in the top 4 or 5,,, if im honest were be in the top 10, and from the teams just come up West Ham are proving the best by far, so chew on that, Gwaaan the HAMMERS.

  9. Both teams have had their day. Between now and February 2013 they'll drift slowly down the table. Bigger teams with more dosh and deeper squads will start to pull away over xmas. My top six at the end of the season (not in order): ManU ManC Arsenal Chelsea Spurs Liverpool.

  10. Geeez i dident want a draw,, West Ham very unlucky, as stoke turn the game into an american football style game by blocking, i always thought that was obstruction, West Ham poor in the first half, but came back very well, in 2nd, A. Carroll, put in his shift, shame he dident get a goal, Jääskeläinen pulled out some great saves too, he was my man of the match, 2 teams very close in points and stats, 1-1 draw, a fair result, we still shashed stokes pots, were still higher then them as well, well done West Ham, keep it going Gwaaaan the Mighty HAMMERS.

  11. what is it some people on this forum? Bet's were going around that west ham will be in a battle at the foot of the table, Big Sam has done the Hammer's proud. Andy Carroll is now with a team of players (not posers) and for that plonker who posted Andy Cole came on as a sub LOL, Don't know what your on but you need to change your medication? Don't be surprised if the Hammers nick 4th spot. And as for that muppet "ken" who's bad mouthing about pulis and Allardyce, I'd rather have either of them any day than the likes of Hodgson or (come too that) Ferguson, couple of plonkers who couldn't run a club on a tight budget, Now, that's what a manager is all about.
