Simon Mignolet saved a late penalty on his full Liverpool debut as Daniel Sturridge's goal saw off Stoke City 1-0. More
@OptaJoe : 51% - Iago Aspas was involved in a higher proportion of his team's goals than any other player in La Liga last season (Messi 50%). Key.
@EurosportCom_EN : STAT: There have been 21,652 goals scored in a total of 8,226 matches played in Prem history, including 1,394 penalties and 704 own goals.
@AnfieldKick : Sturridge and Aspas really gelling well together. Both suit each others game. Good signs.
@davidoc16 : @Reda_Eurosport i think Iago Aspas won't be good enough, his 26 and 2 seasons ago playing in Spanish second division #LFC #aspas
@SweetRalph : @Reda_Eurosport looking forward to seeing the new improved Reds in action
@OptaJoe : 0 - Three of the five Premier League games between Liverpool and Stoke at Anfield have finished 0-0. Pointer.
Manager: Brendan Rodgers
Manager: Mark Hughes

Breaking news this just in, sir Alex has been busted at schools trying to get little boys. If bin dippers we are Pedos you are!!!! Pedos Pedos Pedos Man U fools.
So many people say Liverpool was lucky. It's the opposite actually. Liverpool have always been unlucky for the last few seasons. But anyway I'm proud of them, good win.
Love the guy in the blue holding his head in disgust in the background.
a good start to the season
well begovic you wast he man of the match you kept us the game pity huthys attempt didnt go in we should have played adams and pennant from the start we really need a couple of strikers who know were the goal is unlucky johnny walters but you are so predictable with your pens you are one of my favourite players who gives is all but you need to step down from pens let adams or wilson take the pens.come on stoke we will get 3 points next week.
Once again the Liverpool fans have reached levels of hysteria after a very lucky win against a poor Stoke team. Sixth for the bin dippers if they have a very good season.
think this year they can be in top 4, arsenal around ten, the big question is totenham and who gonna win the league?
typical lucky liverpool ... looks like the the scene is set for a porky season again , probably Qual'. for 4th on away throw ins !!! .... gonna win the league now they've won one. lol lol
Ha, ha, the truth hurts, huh? you scouse idiots.
good win liverpool
It's been 20 years since Liverpool has been top of the table
no-one-is-no-one; below average comment from yourself; nothing to read from you either then; prat.
stoke still need a goal scorer - same old same old
loserpool were lucky. Their keeper saved them many, many times. Still though, two very average teams, nothing to watch from either this season.
Stoke looked no better than last season, I think they are going to struggle and will certainly be contenders for relegation. Todays performance was no change to what we saw under Pulis, and I think Stoke made a big mistake getting rid of Pulis
top of the Prem!!!!!!!!
liverpool for top 4???? erm nope
not a great perfumance from Liverpool. but a wins a win
LOL, scousers celebrating like they won the league after scraping a 1-0 win over a rubbish stoke team, how the mighty have fallen, 7th or 8th again I think
