  • Live Commentary

    Time:90'
    • AC Milan
    • Catania
    • 90+2' The last piece of action is Abbiati pulling off an excellent save to deny Bergessio as he curled one in towards the far post.
    • 90' Only two minutes of stoppage time here. Silva again with a towering header out of defence. Ibrahimovic with another pointless challenge and he picks up a needless yellow.
    • 89' Delvecchio clips a ball into the box, it's cleared and Milan stream up the pitch.
    • 88' Abbiati saves well from an Almiron header following a set piece, but it wouldn't have counted as it was offside.
    • 87' Zambrotta tidies up in defence, but Catania are back on the attack again, though it's all too little, too late.
    • 86' Inzaghi can't believe he missed that. It wasn't particularly easy, but a player of his calibre...
    • 85' An unbelievable pass from Zlatan cuts open the entire Catania team. It's Pippo! But no, the arch poacher sees his shot clip of the heels of Andujar and go just wide.
    • 84' Barrientos plays the ball down the line when there's no one there. Pippo still hasn't had a touch...no surprises there then.
    • 83' Milan are still working hard to regain the ball, which is good to see from a team alerady out of sight.
    • 82' Zambrotta goes down in the box before the set piece is taken. When play finally gets under play Abbiati fists clear.
    • 81' Ambrosini takes out Barrientos who writhes around is pain. This is a very good position for Catania...
    • 80' Milan substitutions: Inzaghi comes on for Robinho and Seedorf is replaced by Antonini.
    • 78' Catania let the ball drop in their area, which is dangerous with Seedorf about. He lays off for Aquilani who shoots from distance into the keeper's arms.
    • 77' Nice interplay from Milan and Ibrahimovic gets to the byline. His low cross can't beat Andujar at the near post though.
    • 75' Silva clears at his near post. He's such a good defender; arguably the best in the world right now.
    • 74' Lodi's freekick clips the top of the wall and goes out for a corner. It's headed away and the follow up from Barrientos is miles wide from a huge distance.
    • 73' Catania are immediately on the attack and looking for the consolation. Bergessio is close to getting on the end of it, but to no avail.
    • 71' Goal! Milan 4-0 Catania - Robinho is kicked by Barrientos, who then kind of slaps his hand. The freekick is absolutely hammered by Aquilani, Andujar can only parry it in front of him and Zambrotta is there to slot the rebound under the keeper.
    • 69' Goal! Milan 3-0 Catania - The commentators curse, complain there's no chances and then there's a goal. Ibra with once again a clever through ball. Robinho opens his body, the shot is partially saved by Andujar, but the ball breaks and the Lodi in comical fashion clears the ball against the post, it hits back into his body and it's debatable whether it's him or Seedorf that finally puts the ball over the line.
    • 68' There's been a real dearth of chances in this second half so far. The only effort that went close was that accidental one from Gomez which was intended as a cross.
    • 67' Lopez slides in to try and retrieve the ball into the area, but he can't quite get there.
    • 66' Catania sub: Lanzafame has been replaced by Maxi Lopez.
    • 65' Robinho slips and it's getting a bit more end to end now. Neither team can keep the ball for any period of time.
    • 64' Thiago Silva does well to stretch and clear a dangerous ball into the area.
    • 63' Emanuelson is wiped out by Bellusci as the game goes a bit turgid.
    • 62' Aquilani and Ambrosini double team Barrientos as he looks to break downfield. Agin lucky to not pick up a booking there.
    • 61' Ambrosini puts too much on the lofted pass to Ibrahimovic, who appauds the idea if not the execution.
    • 60' It's too deep and it goes straight out for a goal kick.
    • 59' A lovely touch from Seedorf sets off another attack. The Dutchman and Ibra between them win Milan a corner.
    • 58' Bergessio receives the ball on the edge of the area. It'd begging to be struck, but his attempted curler into the far corner is woeful.
    • 57' Ibra with a lazy foul on Lanzafame as he runs away from him. Lanzafame pulls up holding his hamstring. Would be a shame if he had to go off - he's been their best player.
    • 56' Zambrotta leaps for a diagonal ball played into the Catania area, but he's nudged off it. No shouts for a penalty though.
    • 55' The cross is deep from Gomez - it comes back off the crossbar! The ball is played back in, but the shot is completely scuffed and goes miles wide.
    • 53' Catania make a change and Ricchiuti is replaced by Barrientos.
    • 52' Emanuelson with instant control sets Milan on their way. At the start of the half Bonera removed for Yepes, presumably due to injury.
    • 51' Robinho's actually running and closing down defenders. Very strange to see.
    • 50' Lovely play from Robinho who slips out of a challenge and spreads the play wide for Ibra. The Swede is strong and outmuscles Spolli, but the ref blows for a freekick - wrongly.
    • 49' Seedorf still has a bit of pace and he tries to get on the end of a pass from Zambrotta, but he's not quite quick enough.
    • 48' Ambrosini is this time fouled on the halfway line, now Emanuelson by Spolli who maybe should have picked up a yellow.
    • 47' Ibra to take...and he hits it low and into the wall.
    • 46' Seedorf is fouled early on and it's maybe just within shooting range...
    • 45+3' It's four against three as Milan pour forward. Robinho gets in Seedorf's way though and they lose the ball as the referee blows for half time.
    • 45+1' They're tussling in the wall...eventually the freekick is taken and it's laid off for Almiron to smash one over the bar.
    • 45' Catania win a freekick in a dangerous area...
    • 44' Robinho this time with a fantastic opportunity! He meets the ball and hits a powerful shot, but it's straight at Andujar who fists away.
    • 43' Ambrosini with a bullet header downwards that Andujar somehow keeps out! Great save though the header should have been better.
    • 42' Seedorf spots Ibra's dart into the box and drifts a ball towards his head. The defender crains his neck to clear it for a corner.
    • 41' Almiron is annoyed the referee gives the foul against him, but it was a foul.
    • 40' Bellusci clips a ball over the defence to no one in particular and Abbiati has all the time in the world to gather.
    • 39' Bonera is looking a bit groggy, don't know whether he took a blow to the head.
    • 38' A terrible touch gifts the ball to Milan who break through Robinho and Ibra. The Swede almost plays in the Brazilian, but the defender steps across just in time. Aquilani smashes the follow up and it has Andujar worried enough as he flies across goal. It goes just a foot or so over.
    • 36' Abate and Emanuelson combine down the right. Robinho has a sight of goal after a one-two with Aquilani. He volleys the return, but was unbalanced and it doesn't trouble Andujar.
    • 35' Catania's marking is pretty poor. You can't tell whether it's by luck or design, but Seedorf is caught offside as Aquilani plays ino him in the area.
    • 34' Milan keep the ball in midfield and just try to establish some authority back over this match.
    • 33' Catania are right back in this game now in terms of possession and territory. If anything they're slightly on top.
    • 32' Seedorf nicks the ball away wel in his own area, but Catania have it back. Lanzafame dinks the ball into the area and the challenged ball bounces into the grateful arms of Abbiati.
    • 31' Marchese appeals for the throw and he gets the decision. An amateur offside is given against Catania though and Milan are back in possession.
    • 30' Milan win the ball deep in their own half and again break at pace. Ibra once more plays into Robino who is still being given so much space. His left footed effort is dragged narrowly wide.
    • 29' Seedorf is wonderfully set up by Robinho with a pull back to the sdge of the box. The Dutchman smashes it from the edge of the area, but gets the timing all wrong and it's screwed wide.
    • 28' Catania are commiting so many men to defence they are struggling to get forward when given the chance.
    • 27' Ibra tries to slip in the player on the overlap again, but this time it's cut out. Bergessio receives the ball with his back to goal and hits a snap shot to the sear post that's held well by Abbiati.
    • 25' Ibra fouls Lanzafame and Catania can gather themselves. They punt it long and gift it back to Milan.
    • 24' Seedorf has a chance to make it three! Ibra plays a perfect through ball and the Dutchman tries to flick it past the keeper, who has charged it down well.
    • 23' Goal! Milan 2-0 Catania - Robinho breaks down the inside left channel, he makes a fool of Bellusci as he turns him inside out then curls the ball around Andujar, nestling right in the far corner.
    • 22' Catania interchange nicely and approach the box, but the shot from the edge of the area is poor and is dragged well wide.
    • 21' Aquilani tidies up for Milan and starts the counter...good play from Seedorf sets Aquilani through down the right and he whips a lovely low ball across goal that only just evades Ibra.
    • 20' Abbiati rolls the ball out to Abate and they build from deep. Catania are putting no pressure on Milan's defence at the moment.
    • 19' Seedorf brings the ball down on his chest beautifully and tries an instant pass on the volley. Robinho is caught offside and he's not happy about it.
    • 17' Bergessio has a brief sight of goal from close range, but he's crowded out. Gomez then receives the ball in the box, but his touch lets him down and the chance is gone.
    • 16' Gomez with good feet just outside the area. The ball makes it's way to Marchese and he's taken out by Abate, who comes out worse in the challenge.
    • 15' Aquilani takes out Gomez cynically and is lucky to get away without receiving a card. The freekick is headed clear and eventually scrambled out for a throw.
    • 14' Milan break down the other end and Emanuelson tries a shot, but it's a complete miskick.
    • 13' Other than the penalty Lanzafame's started really well. Another driving run is halted just outside the area and again that could have been a foul.
    • 12' Bergissio hits a cross way too deep and it flies out for a goal kick.
    • 11' Lanzafame tries to atone for his conceding of the penalty by trying to win one himself. His cross hits the arm of the defender and that could well have been given.
    • 10' The stadium's only half full this afternoon, but disappointing considering Milan could potentially go top today.
    • 9' It was Lanzafame who took out Robinho and he picked up a yellow card as well.
    • 7' Goal! Milan 1-0 Catania - Ibrahimovic hits the ball lox into the bottom corner, the keeper goes the right way, but has no chance.
    • 6' Ibrahimovic threads a lovely ball through to Robinho, who is completely unmarked in the box. He's brought down from behind and it's a clear penalty.
    • 5' Bergessio commits the foul on the halfway line and Milan stream down the pitch through Robinho. He plays into Ibra's feet, but he miscontrols and Zambrotta volleys the follow up wide.
    • 4' Thiago Silva gets on the end of the resultant cross and heads narrowly wide from about 12 yards. That was a pretty decent header.
    • 3' Ibrahimovic just smashes it and a defender launches his head right in front of it. That was brave play.
    • 2' Robinho is fouled right on the edgoe of the area. It's literally on the line...
    • 1' Catania get the game underway and are immediately on the attack Mian retaliate through the evergreen Seedorf, but that also breaks down.
    • 13:55 After the sad news that Cassano suffered a stroke the other day Massimiliano Allegri, the AC Milan manager had this to say: "We can count on the fact that Antonio will return to play. The doctors have assured that there are great opportunities and...this is definitely good news after what happened to him."
    • 13:50 Catania could go above Milan today though they'd have to beat them by at least three goals, which is unlikely given Milan are unbeaten at home this season. Serie A League Table
    • 13:45 Both teams are on a good run of form. Milan have won five and drawn one since they lost to Juventus in the laegue. Catania are also unbeaten in six games, though only two of those have been victories.

    • 13:30 Since 2006/07, only once have AC Milan or Catania scored more than two goals when they have faced each other in Serie A (AC Milan 3-0 Catania in December 2006). Not a good sign.
