  • Live Commentary

    • 90+2' And they are played with the minimum of fuss as Catania record the win.
    • 90+1 Two minutes of added time.
    • 90' It looks as though the solitary Pescara fan who made the trip to Sicily will not be rewarded with even a draw.
    • 89' This win will push Catania up to eighth but it is probably too late for any Europa aspirations.
    • 87' Catania do well to keep the ball now as they run down the clock.
    • 86' Pescara have a brief period of concerted pressure before Bjarnason brings it to an end with an unnecessary foul. Andujar lashes the free-kick long.
    • 84' Bergessio has beavered away up front and probably deserves a goal for the home side but, having started a move with a nice touch and pass, the return ball is just behind him.
    • 82' Can the visitors grab a leveller? They have been very good thus far but have just failed with the final ball on a few occasions. Their best chance fell to the left boot of Sforzini but he fired straight at the keeper.
    • 81' And on he comes, replacing Blasi.
    • 81' Another change in the offing for the visitors with Iannascoli warming up.
    • 80' Bergessio meanders towards goal before running into a blockade of defenders – he releases to Barrientos on the edge but he can’t quite get the required whip on the ball as it flashes past the post.
    • 79' Bergessio chases well in the channel to get to a ball that he had no right to win. His endeavours set a flowing move in motion that sweeps across the pitch to Lodi but his cross is headed clear.
    • 77' Decent claim from Perin, who gets down low to claim a shot from Barrientos, who has been exceptional this evening.
    • 75' The changes appear to have unsettled the hosts who play a couple of stray balls in quick succession. Unfortunately, Christian Bucchi’s men can’t make anything of it though.
    • 73' The visitors respond in kind: Balzano off and Zauri on in his stead.
    • 71' Subsitute: Almiron is withdraw for the hosts with Castro entering the fray.
    • 69' Pescara are still in this one and they have played some decent stuff but they are lacking a presence up front.
    • 68' The corner is swung over and almost deceives Perin at the near post. The keeper had his weight forward anticipating the cross into the middle of the box but it almost sneaks in. Barrientos with the kick, I think.
    • 66' Bergessio gets to the byline following another incisive pass from Barrientos but his cross is cut out for a corner – he probably had more time than he thought there.
    • 65' Barrientos sends over a teasing cross to the far post but it is just beyond the reach of arriving player, who is Bergessio.
    • 63' There is a melee in the box before the corner can be delivered – Bocchetti and Bellusci pick up a yellow a piece before the corner is sent over. Easily cleared.
    • 62' The visitors have a free-kick on the edge but it is straight at the wall. Disappointing stuff from Togni there. Corner.
    • 60' Barrientos is scythed down by Balzano following a dazzling piece of skill and that right there is a deserved yellow.
    • 59' Pescara almost level things up at the other end but Andujar is equal to it. Sforzini latches on to a flick on from Bocchetti and while his effort is well-struck it is straight at the keeper who makes the save.
    • 58' Bergessio fires over from close range. Another beauty of a pass from Barrientos finds him inside the box but he just can’t get over the effort.
    • 57' Bergessio initially does well to hold the ball up in the Pescara half but with the required support not forthcoming he is eventually crowded out by a gaggle of defenders.
    • 56' Barrientos runs with the ball at pace down the right before coming to a stop inside the box – he lays it out to Biagianti but his cross is blocked for a throw.
    • 54' Bergessio again plays a decent ball to the back post but Almiron completely miscues and misses before the visitors clear for a corner. The corner is too close to the keeper though.
    • 52' Great goal there. Three passes from the middle of midfield to score – that should open things up a bit.
    • 51' GOOAL!! Gomez finishes off a move of breakneck speed at the back post when he slides in to finish off a cross from Bergessio.
    • 50' That was probably the chance of the match there and either side of the keeper there and he is probably celebrating but it was straight at him.
    • 48' Bergessio heads into the path of the run of Biagianti, who steadies himself before volleying straight at Perin - should have really done better there.
    • 46' And we are back underway.
    • 45 And that's it from the first half.
    • 44' Bergessio heads wide from a Lodi cross and that looks to be the last chance of a decent half of football.
    • 42' This has been a thoroughly entertaining game thus far but neither side has been able to take the lead. The hosts are certainly finishing in the ascendancy.
    • 40' Catania spring from the back at pace but Barrientos’s finish to the move is rather tame and Perin claims with ease.
    • 38' Lodi gets the ball up and over the wall but he can’t get the required down spin on the ball as it never threatens the goal.
    • 38' Gomez draws a foul on the edge. Lodi over it.
    • 36' Barrientos takes the ball short from a corner and his effort has Perin beaten but it skews wide of the post.
    • 35' A Gomez cross to the far post is turned behind for a corner.
    • 34' Gomez works the ball wide to Izco but his cross is headed just wide by Almiron who just couldn’t arch his neck far enough forward to get the required contact.
    • 32' Gomez goes down in the box and under the challenge of Balzano but the referee decides that the ball was won.
    • 30' Lots of space out there at the moment and Di Francesco shifts the ball wide but the delivery from Bocchetti is easily hacked clear.
    • 28' Free-kick for the home side in a dangerous area down the right. Lodi puts a searching ball into the box that is just too high and Perin does well to claim.
    • 26' The league’s bottom side continue to belie their league position with a performance of some quality.
    • 25' Togni is sizing up a free-kick some 25 yards out and right of centre. His effort though is disappointing as it hits the wall.
    • 23' Substitute: Biagianti is on in the stead of the injured Legrottaglie.
    • 22' A decent passing move from the visitors culminates in Balzano putting another searching ball into the box but the hosts clear.
    • 21' Spolli does well to get his head to a searching ball to the far post. Corner for the visitors that Andujar comes and flaps at but does enough to get it away.
    • 19' Legrottaglie now comes off worse following a flailing elbow and there is a short hiatus while he receives treatment.
    • 17 A fair few late challenges flying in out there now – the latest player to digress is Legrottaglie.
    • 15' Bergessio opens up his body and looks to curl it into the far corner from outside the box. Great effort and Perin does well to push it away from goal.
    • 13' Togni's through ball again finds Federico Di Francesco offside.
    • 12' Bergessio's shot from the edge is always rising.
    • 11' Blasi gives away a foul for a late challenge on Izco.
    • 9' Bjarnason has a shot blocked from the edge of the box - nice ball to him from Bocchetti there.
    • 7' Pablo Barrientos's through ball finds Mariano Izco in a offside position.
    • 5' Pablo Barrientos goers close from inside the box but his effort just whistles wide.
    • 3' Bjarnason looks to make some waves down the right but he overruns the ball before fouling his man.
    • 2' Pescara are rooted to the bottom of the table while Catania have the slightest of chances of European qualification.
    • 1' And we're underway.
