    Juventus marked Antonio Conte's return to touchline duty with a 1-0 victory against Palermo to open up a five point gap at the top of Serie A. More

    • 90+3 That's it from Stadio Renzo Barbera. The defeat leaves the hosts precariously close to the drop zone – in fact, they are only out of it on goal difference. While Juve open up a five point lead at the top with Napoli facing Inter in the late.
    • 90+2 The visitors run the clock down as they try to see out a win that will see them top of the table with a five point cushion over Napoli in second.
    • 90' Somehow Palermo are still in the game but that is the second time in quick succession that Juve have walked through the offside trap.
    • 88' Marchisio finds Vucinic in behind but Ujkani makes a great save.
    • 86' Lots of pushing and shoving in the box but Bendtner clears. Vucinic leads the break and slips a pass to Bonucci who tries to round Ujkani. The keeper makes a decent challenge but Bonucci goes down theatrically and is in the book. Ridiculous dive.
    • 84' Viola draws a foul from Pogba near the left corner flag – Miccoli over it.
    • 82' Palermo have given up on defending. They are just playing an extremely high line but they have yet to force a save from Buffon.
    • 80' The men from Turin are just using their numerical advantage to exploit space and run down the clock. Marchisio lifts the ball over the top to Bendtner but the on-loan man went a fraction early and is called offside. That was tight.
    • 78' Pirlo is lucky to only get a yellow there. He is late and high on Garcia but the referee elects to brandish a yellow card with the home crowd up in arms.
    • 76' Morganella hauls back Asamoah and is quite rightly shown a red card for his second yellow – one would imagine that this game is over a contest.
    • 75' PALERMO SUB: Kurtić off for Viola – that’s all three subs made now.
    • 74' JUVE SUB: Bendtner for Matri. The Dane has an early sight of goal but his effort is always curling away from the goal and Ujkani watches it wide.
    • 72' Dybala is found out on the right, he cuts inside Asamoah before flashing an effort from about 25 yards out across the goal of Bufffon. Chance.
    • 70' PALERMO SUB: Dybala is on for Donati – which is an attacking change.
    • 68' Morganella is in the book for scything down Marchisio. Juve work a training ground special, playing it short instead of straight into the box, and, although the ball from Vucinic is a dangerous one, the Palermo defence regroup to clear.

    • 50' GOOOOAL!! Outrageously good from Vucinic. He leaps with Von Bergen and takes the ball from Pirlo on the chest before nut-megging the defender with a backheel to play the ball into the path of Lichtsteiner, who finished with aplomb.
    • 48' Chiellini gets back at sub Brienza to challenge and prevent a shooting chance.
    • 46' Marchisio finds Vucinic in the channel and he strikes the foot of the post from the edge of the box.

    • 45+1 Vidal wins a free-kick on the edge of the box. Pirlo over it but the wall jumps to clear for a corner. Brave from Garcia as that was going into the top corner. Palermo clear the corner.
    • 44' Matri. Should have scored. Vidal wins a challenge down the right and strides towards goal and passes the ball across the box for Matri, who contrives to strike it straight at Ujkani from no more than six yards out.
    • 42' Chiellini carries the ball forward, and, once again, with no pressure on the ball he strolls forward before shooting from 30 yards out but it is never a threat to the scoreline as it whistles wide.
    • 40' Palermo hanging on here as Pirlo begins to dictate.
    • 38' Juve have really turned the screw the last ten minutes or so.
    • 36' Vidal works some space down the right before digging out a cross for Matri. He chests it down for Marchisio, whose shot is saved but falls into the path of Vucinic, who inexplicably turns it wide from four yards out.
    • 34' The pitch, which is heavy after a deluge of rain this weekend is doing nothing for this game as a spectacle. Barzagli draws a foul from Iličić about 30 yards from goal but Juve work it short when they may have been better served playing the free-kick in direct. The ball comes to Vucinic and he works a yard for a shot but instead finds Lichtsteiner but his cross is blocked.
    • 32' Matri and Vucinic exchange passes but the return from Matri has too much on it and it carries though to the keeper.
    • 30' Lichtsteiner is once again wasteful in a forward position, but, fortunately for him, a heavy touch from Kurtić results in a corner. Bonucci heads Pirlo’s corner straight into a Palermo player but the clearance is loose and Marchisio takes a touch on the edge of the box to steady himself before curling the ball wide.
    • 28' Matri goes a fraction too soon as Chiellini comes out from the back with the ball. He is given ample space to run into and attempts to lift the ball over the top for the forward but his dash forward is brought to a halt by the referee whistle.
    • 26' The hosts are a man down as Iličić gets treatment for a gashed nose.
    • 25' Asamoah makes his presence felt in the corner to win a corner. Pirlo swings it over but Von Bergen rises to head clear for another corner, which is headed clear. Iličić is in with a chance of leading a counter but Lichtsteiner comes to meet him. They both jump but there is a clash of heads. With blood on show the referee blows up.
    • 23' Pirlo stretches but gets to a ball to release Matri. Ujkani is off his line to clear, though. Great keeping.
    • 22' Juve are struggling to get their wide players into the game thus far. For the hosts, Donati is stepping into midfield to make up the numbers.
    • 21' Muñoz’s ball over the top is a little too predictable and Bonucci steps out to launch clear.
    • 19' Matri and Vucinic look a little lost up front at the moment – that’s about the third time already that a Vucinic ball over the top has had too much on it and Matri looks a little frustrated.
    • 17' Two loose clearances, first from Barzagli and then Bonucci gives the ball straight back to Palermo. Barreto lifts the ball over the Juventus defence and Miccoli fires the ball into the far corner on the volley from an acute angle but it is disallowed for offisde. Marginal.
    • 15' A loose ball from Barreto brings a decent spot of possession to an end and Chiellini brings it forward. The ball is worked to Lichtsteiner on the right, whose cross is cleared by Von Bergen.
    • 13' Miccoli breaks quickly down the right, cuts inside and then finds Iličić, who, on the turn and roughly on the penalty spot, has a shot blocked by Barzagli.
    • 12' Kurtić with a fine strike from distance but Buffon sees it all the way to punch clear.
    • 10' Great intensity out there from the Bianconeri – Marchisio gets to the ball before Barreto but then over-runs it for a throw.
    • 8' Barreto makes a burst into the box but Chiellini is there to meet him before Marchisio smashes clear. Bit of a scramble in the box and the referee blows for a back pass but Matri kindly informs him that he in fact touched it last. Great sportsmanship.
    • 6' Chiellini is down injured after a 50-50 ball.
    • 5' Pirlo swings it in but Chiellini is beaten to it. The hosts break but Iličić is ushered off the ball by Bonucci.
    • 4' Juve have made a strong start here - they work the ball well down the right until Pirlo draws a foul from Morganella on the edge of the box.
    • 2' Pirlo whips a teasingly, dangerous corner that Bonucci just can’t get his head to. Great delivery.
