    • 18' Nagatomo's low cross from the left intended for Milito is cut out. That was a dangerous delivery for the hosts to have to contend with.
    • 17' A Pescara corner sees Simone Romagnoli snatch at his shot as the ball drifts wide of the Inter goal.

    • 13' First major talking point of the match sees Javier Zanetti bring down Vladimir Weiss in the Inter penalty box. No spot-kick is awarded and the Slovakian is promptly booked for diving. However, on second viewing, it would appear that Weiss and Pescara were hard done by there.
    • 12' Cambiasso attempts to fed the ball through to Milito - the ball is hacked away but only into the path of Sneijder, whose acrobatic strike flies straight into the arms of Mattia Perin.
    • 10' Nagatomo and Sneijder link up down the Inter left flank, but they fail to work the ball into a shooting position.
    • 9' Inter struggling to keep hold of the ball in these opening moments, with Pescara having the lionshare of possession.

    • 19:42 Meanwhile, new boys Pescara surprised many as they finished as Serie B champions last season to book their place in Italy's top flight. There aren't too many harder challenges than Inter at home on the opening weekend, but Giovanni Stroppa's men will look to cause what would be a huge upset.
    • 19:38 Stramaccioni will be looking to build a period of stability and calm at a club who lost 14 times in the league last term and still appear to be living in the shadow of the side that claimed an historic treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League titles under Jose Mourinho in 2010.
    • 19:35 Three managers oversaw a difficult campaign for Inter in which they just managed to scrape into the UEFA Europa League qualifying positions. Following the dismissals of Gian Piero Gasperini and Claudio Ranieri, Andrea Stramaccioni will continue in charge for this season having taken over the managerial reigns at the end of May.
    • 19:30 So the big team news for Inter is that new signing Antonio Cassano starts. The striker joins Wesley Sneijder and Diego Milito in a three-pronged attack as the Nerazzurri look to get off to a winning start and put last season's disappointing sixth-placed finish behind them.
