- FINAL WHISTLE: Atletico Madrid controlled this game from first to last with a helping hand from the referee who sent off two Sevilla players on the pitch leaving the visitors with just nine men to finish the match. A red card was also given to a substitute for Sevilla for comments heard by the linesman. Action packed game
- 90+3' Sevilla manager Michel looks distraught on the touchline as he has witnessed his team be dismantled by Atletico Madrid and a series of red cards to his team both on and off the pitch. Atletico continue to pile the pressure on even though the game is more than won.
90+2' Arda Turan caps off a fine performance by pouncing on a loose save from Palop to pass to Miranda who had the easiest of tap-ins to make it 4-0.- 90' The game is all but over for Sevilla. It is damage limitation as they sit back and soak up the pressure from Atletico.
- 88' More possession from Atletico. They continue to work the ball with speed and accuracy despite their opponents being down to nine men. The ball eventually is worked to Tiago who strikes it. Palop drops the ball into the path of Falcao but the prolific Colombian strikes the ball straight at Palop who gets up well to save again.
- 86' Atletico easily find themselves on the left hand side of the Sevilla penalty area as within three passes the home team have it from their keeper to Rodriguez but the winger's cross goes behind.
- 85' Juanfran is called offside as Emre spreads the ball out to him wide on the right. The full back should do better as he can see all along the defensive line.
- 84' Atletico now in complete control against the nine men of Sevilla. A poor pass from Luis though sees Rodriguez chasing alost cause into the corner. Throw in to Sevilla.
82' Sevilla continue pressuring high up the pitch but Rakitic is over enthusiastic and catches Tiago. The referee gives the midfielder his second yellow and leaves Sevilla facing the last few minutes with only nine men.- 81' A free kick from the original incident is swung into the box but Courtois comes off his line to punch the ball clear.
- 80' A red card for a Jose Manuel Luna, a substitute, who is complaining about a free kick decision. Not often you see that.
- 79' Christian Rodriguez storms down the left but his final touch sees the ball go out of play and he smashes the ball into the crowd in frustration. The referee has a word but does not book the Atletico winger.
- 78' A cross from Juanfran finds Falcao who chests the ball down but his control is loose and the ball is cleared.
77' Raul Garcia enters the fray in place of Koke as Rakitic receives a yellow card for handball.
77' Jesus Navas comes off for Javier Hervas who barks tactical instructions to accompany his introduction.- 76' Sevilla continue to pile on the pressure through Perrotti who nutmegs a defender with a pass but the next touch is poor and it goes out for a goal kick.
75' Courtois makes his first real save of the match as Baba turns on the edge of the area and lets fly with his right foot. The low powerful shot was gathered by the Belgian goalkeeper at the second attempt.- 74' Gabi is withdrawn for Turkish international Emre in midfield. Most likely a straight swap.
- 72' Sevilla finally get out of their half and control the ball. Some excellent play from Perrotti and Navarro down the left eventually sees the ball crossed to Cicinho but nothing comes of it.
- 71' A lovely reverse ball from Gabi looks as though it is going through to Palop but Tiago's bursting run is found. Unfortunately his speed means the control was not good enough and the ball goes out for a goal kick.
- 70' Turan is beginning to enjoy himself as he is finding pockets of space all over the pitch. He picks it up again between Sevilla's defence and midfield and is pulling all the strings for Atletico.
- 69' Christian Rodriguez earns his team a corner. Atletico take it short and work the ball to Turan in the penalty area. His cross is dinked over the sprawling Palop but none of the three Atletico players in the box could reach the bouncing ball and Spahic cleared.
- 68' Back come Atletico but this time down the left leaving acres of space for Juanfran to exploit. Sevilla quickly get over to him and the full-back is dispossessed.
- 67' Atletico maintain a good level of possession and are tiring Sevilla who leave a huge gap on the left for Luis to take advantage of. His cross is unable to beat the first man though and Sevilla clear.
- 65' Following his booking Diego Costa is withdrawn and Christian Rodriguez comes on in his place.
- 64' Sevilla's free kick is easily gathered by Courtois in goal but his kick goes straight out of play.
- 63' Diego Costa receives a yellow card for a foul on Botia as Reyes comes off for Simone Perrotti.
- 62' Atletico again on the attack but Diego Costa's control lets him down on the left touchline as he lets the ball roll out of play.
- 61' The game has become scrappy with needless free-kicks being given away, the latest from Diego Costa who, in putting pressure on Cicinho, slides in to get the ball but only catches his compatriot on the ankle.
- 59' End to end stuff as Sevilla go down the other end only to find an Atletico Madrid wall on the edge of the penalty area. At the other end Falcao gathers the ball and turns but is dispossessed with a barnstorming challenge from Spahic and left sprawling.
- 58' The ball is given away cheaply by Sevilla to Diego Costa who drives at the penalty area and takes on two defenders in the process. His left footed shot is deflected over Palop who watches the ball hit his crossbar.
- 57' Rakitic loses the ball cheaply in the Atletico half but nothing comes of what looked like a promising break from Turan.
- 56' A fantastic pass from Tiago finds Falcao who nods the ball towards the goal but the header which was headed for the top corner only finds Palop who has to pat the ball down before gathering.
- 55' Atletico finally anjoy some controlled possession in the Sevilla half. Turan and Falcao link well again but Sevilla remain disciplined and plug all the gaps through the middle.
- 54' Sevilla break through Reyes who sprints through the centre of the field with the ball but is crowded out by the Atletico defenders. Luis carries the ball to the halfway line to clear.

Sevilla have it all to do as they are a man and three goals down to an in-form Atletico side.- HALF TIME: Atletico Madrid have dominated the first half but Sevilla will feel slightly aggrieved to have central defender Fazio red-carded after he gave away a penalty. After that incident Atletico took control and were able to fire a quick-fire double just before the whistle to put themselves 3-0 up and cruising.

The big Brazilian collects a long ball despite pressure from Spahic. He puts the ball into the box where Koke arrived first to shoot past Palop. The Turkish winger played a killer cross past Palop and just as Costa was about to tap in, Spahic slid in and the ball ended up in the back of the net.
- 38' Miranda looks to find Falcao but the Colombian striker for once cannot control the ball.
- 36' Felipe Luis again down the left wing centres the ball but Cicinho is able to block this time. The ten men look to be struggling when the ball goes wide.
- 34' Yellow card is given to Maduro for a foul on Koke out wide on the right for Atletico.
- 33' Amongst all the action from earlier, Sevilla had made a subsitition with Kondogbia coming off for Botia in midfield.
- 32' Some more excellent play from Atletico sees Turan and Falcao combine. The Colombian stepped into the penalty to shoot but Spahic throws himself to the ground to block the shot for a corner.
- 31' Sevilla with their first attack since going a goal down. Navas centres the ball looking for Reyes but Juanfran tracks welll and clears the ball.
- 29' The corner is swung in and met by Miranda but Palop again saves well to keep the score at 1-0. Atletico are applying heavy pressure here.
- 28' Almost a second for Atletico as Luis crosses from the left. The ball is met by Spahic who clears the ball backwards almost into his own net but Palop gets to the ball to knock it out for a corner.
- 27' Spahic gets away with receiving his second yellow card of the night in quick succession after a clear obstructon on Falcao. The referee deems it only a free kick,
- 25' Atletico get a corner and it is met by the head of Costa but the ball goes over the bar.

- 20' Penalty to Atletico as Fazio fouls inside the area. The Italian defender is sent off as he is the last defender. He had to go.
- 19' A fantastic move from Atletico sees Juanfran try andf cross but could not find any of the players in the middle. A long ball to Reyes is headed on by the winger but Courtois catches easily to end the danger.
- 18' Koke receives the ball and as he tries to turn and shoot scoops the ball harmlessly over the bar and wide.
- 17' Gabi tries to play in Costa but the control is not good enough. Some sections of the crowd call for a penalty but Maduro's challenge was a good one. No penalty.
- 14' Turan is clipped on the heel by Rakitic but play continues with Tiago open on the left wing. As play goes on Turan receives the ball again but a bad pass gifts Sevilla possession.
- 11' Atletico hit Costa early with a long ball but his header is miscontrolled by Turan. The home side realise the Turkish international is their dangerman tonight.

- 9' Luis centres the ball for Costa in the penalty area but his weak header is easily claimed by Palop. Prior to this Gabi may have fouled Navarro but there was no caution for the midfielder.

By all accounts Spahic needs an early bath. Perhaps a sub could have a settling effect on the Sevilla side in the second half..
Fair play to atletico they are having an amazing season. As a sevilla fan I wish them all the best and its great to see them challenging with the big two for the title. It's great for their fans who been in the shadows of Real Madrid for ages, it's great for them they are doing so well. In fact it's atletico not real at moment barca have to worry about this season. Still think sevilla will do ok this season. I keep the faith. I wish sevilla could play at home every week, they class at home but away they are seriously lacking. Vamos sevilla! Bravo to altetico you throughly deserve to be winning comfortably.
