90+3' Unlucky from Getafe! Alvaro gets hold of the ball to the right of the box and from a tight angle tries to chip the ball over Valdes. The execution is good but the ball just drifts wide.
90+1' GOAL! Getafe 1-4 Barcelona! David Villa scores his second goal since his comeback from injury as he collects a cross on his chest, holds off Valero and slots a lovely finish under Moya. Pure class.- 90' Pedro tries to lift the ball over Moya but the keeper backpedals to catch the ball and prevent a fourth.
- 88' Sarabia delivers a fine free kick from the right but Adriano does well to head away under pressure.
- 86' We are just seeing the game out now. Nothing to worry about for Barcelona.
- 84' Xavi drives a shot just wide of the post. It took a deflection though so Barca have a corner...
- 82' Vasquez has an audacious shot from range but it flies high into the stands. A poor effort from the Getafe man.

- 72' Getafe have barely had a sniff in the second half. Barca's dominance in possession serving them well from a defensive perspective.

- 58' Tello bursts into space down the left and comes into the box before trying to find that far corner again with a bending effort. Moya flings out an arm to repel the shot though.
- 57' Puyol has battled on but he goes down again and now Javier Mascherano comes on to replace him.
- 56' Pedro plays in Montoya down the right but his first touch is heavy and Getafe can clear behind for a corner. Puyol comes back on for the set-piece.
- 55' This is more promising. Puyol is able to hobble off the pitch to receive more treatment.
- 54' Replays show that Puyol jarred his knee rather nastily when making the challenge. The stretcher is on and this looks nasty for Barca.

- 51' Tello tries to get away from Leon with a backheel but you could see that coming an absolute mile off. Getafe win possession back on the near touchline.
- 50' Pique with a lovely turn to hold onto the ball. He can look gorgeous in possession sometimes. However, the move fizzles out for Barca.

- 48' Getafe penalised for handball and Xavi stands over the free kick. Only Fabregas makes a run into the box to try and latch onto his delivery but the false nine can't connect as he sticks out a leg.

46' KICK OFF!- 45+1' HALF TIME. Adriano's strike has Barcelona in front but they have been far from convincing.
- 45' Barca need to utilise Thiago more. His shot against the bar demonstrated his ability but we haven't seen enough of him today.
- 43' Barca are keeping the ball moving nicely but their lead remains precarious and you would expect to see Messi pretty soon after the break at this rate.
- 41' Xavi delays a pass to Fabregas as he moves forward in the box and by the time the ball does come, Fabregas has moved into an offside position. The former Arsenal man howls in frustration.
- 39' Pedro Leon goes for goal from a tight angle and Valdes fumbles the ball as it comes to him over a sea of heads. Luckily Barcelona are able to clear.
- 38' Pique is in the book for a foul on Colunga right on the edge of the box, to the left. He hangs his head after being caught out by a quick switch of the ball by the Getafe forward.

- 34' Thiago does well to bring a cross down quickly and get a shot away at the back post but Moya turns the ball wide of the post just when it threatens to sneak home.

- 31' Barrada swings in a cross from the left and finds Leon at the back post. The midfielder on loan from Real Madrid smacks the ball into the ground and into the hands of Valdes.
- 30' Xavi drifts forward and from 20 yards drives a firm shot at goal. However, it is far too close to Moya and the keeper saves with ease.
- 29' Xavi delivers the set-piece but as the ball comes in, Busquets is penalised for a push. Laughably, replays show he did nothing of the sort, and in fact he was being held.
- 28' Adriano thumps a shot well over the bar over the ball pops into his path when Xavi is challenged. It took a touch off a defender though so Barca have a corner.
- 27' Tello finds space down the left and whips in an early cross that has Moya flapping. However, it was also too early for any Barca players to get into a position where they could connect.
- 26' Chance for Barca! What a run and shot from Thiago! The midfielder collects the ball 30 yards from goal, skips in between two players and then lashes a lovely effort against the bar.
- 24' Pedro Leon shoots direct from the free kick but Valdes is down smartly to save at his feet.
- 23' Busquets goes into the book. He is rather unfortunate to be penalised for a foul on Abdelaziz Barrada after wrapping his legs around the forward and bringing him to ground.
- 22' Barcelona have been distinctly under par so far but Getafe are a tricky prospect at home and they have already beaten Real Madrid this season.
- 20' Xavi stands over a free kick on the right and tries to find Gerard Pique with his delivery. However, Getafe head clear.

- 17' Tello has been the main threat for Barcelona in this first half so far. He was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer but now he has the chance to stake a claim for a first team spot with the best team in the world.
- 15' Getafe have a sniff of a chance as the ball finds Colunga some 40 yards from goal following a Barca corner. However, Montoya and Adriano deal with the threat effectively.
- 14' That Colunga penalty appeal aside, Barcelona have been pretty much in control, without much penetration. With Messi on the bench they are lacking about five extra dimensions as Fabregas just can't play that role as effectively.
- 12' Fabregas lofts a ball over the top - as Barcelona love to do - but Xavi can't quite pull it down properly and fails to get a shot away from inside the box.
- 10' Getafe want a penalty! Martin Montoya rather clumsily clatters into the back of Adrian Colunga on the edge of the box and the Barca man is rather lucky not to be penalised. Colunga was in a fantastic position as well.
- 8' It is Adriano's turn to dart in the box, from left-back, but he can't pick out one of the orange/canary yellow Barcelona shirts. Their away kit is horrible, incidentally.
- 6' Now Pedro takes a clever touch to the right of the box and lays the ball wide to Tello. He knocks it past his marker but Moya is off his line quickly to intercept.
- 4' Chance for Barcelona! Fabregas slips in Tello to the left of the box and the youngster opens up his body to fire in a low effort that Moya flings out an arm to.
- 2' Fabregas is indeed playing as the false nine and is flanked by Tello and Pedro tonight. The Barca team looks rather like a second string side, particularly with no Messi of course.

@10 Mark: i agree that Barca is vulnerable defensively and that there are points to adjust, however as long as we attack organized and with enough people behind our forwards when attacking than we won't get exposed to the tough counter attacks. but let us be honest it's always harder to attack than to defance. @Amir I agree with your point, yes barca are more than just messi. As they all so comfortable on the ball, and xavi, iniesta, fabregas, pedro,etc all provide messi with great service. There is no doubt however when barca are in huge trouble, guess who tends to save the day. The way barca keep the ball it's so difficult to get the ball of them and they so powerful in attack. I do feel though they are vulnerable defensively the problem is teams need to have the ball long enough to harm them, if getafe can they can cause problems.
It might get better for barca, I think Sevilla might beat real Madrid
