    • - That's awful for Real - a match they simply had to win, but missing Ronaldo was simply too much. Stay with us for live coverage of Valencia v Sevilla. Valencia v Sevilla
    • 90'+3 That's it - the final whistle goes, and after an awful performance Real Madrid have been deservedly held to a draw by Osasuna.
    • 90'+3 Benzema manages to make a run and forces Andres into a diving save, but there was never any danger from that weak shot.
    • 90'+2 Alonso takes a long free kick, but its deflected off by Benzema for a goal kick.
    • 90'+1 It's all kicking off now - yellow card for Lolo for faking a dive to the turf when confronted by Ozil over a minor foul. Absolutely ridiculous on both sides.
    • 90' Great-looking chance for Kike Sola as he loses Albiol and gets free and clear to chase a long header upfield - but he's just offside and doesn't get the chance to beat Casillas one-on-one.
    • 89' Real win a corner, Ozil takes it but it's cleared straight out.
    • 88' Osasuna have the throw anyway and it's almost a stunning strike from Lolo, who controls the ball on his chest and volleys powerfully - but he can't keep it down, and the ball ends up in row G.
    • 87' Penalty shout for Osasuna! Kike Sola brought down in the box by Albiol, but the referee is having none of it. Good decision - barely any contact there.
    • 86' Joseba Llorente comes on for Osasuna, Cejudo is the man making way.
    • 85' The second corner is cleared and a break is on - and Kike Sola comes within the clip of a heel of being clear in the box, but Varane just about did enough to get the ball away from the striker.
    • 84' Osasuna go to the bench for the first time, and it's Llorente who will be coming on.
    • 83' Corner to Real Madrid, cleared off for another...
    • 82' Osasuna still the better side tonight - that goal would have been an injustice had it stood.
    • 81' Unbelievable shot on goal by Damia! He unleashes a 30-yard rocket-powered volley that would have been goal of the year had it not been just a couple of feet too high and too far left. Great technique...
    • 80' Benzema drifts offside now - Real have been a bit sloppy with that tonight.
    • 79' Callejon is outraged, but replays show the linesman was right.
    • 78' REAL MADRID REFUSED A GOAL! Callejon gets onto a perfectly-weighted ball from Alonso out on the left and glances the ball brilliantly into the net, but the linesman judges him offside.
    • 77' Can't be many sillier dismissals this season than that one for Kaka - just failing to get himself out of the way before the free kick, a ridiculous piece of gamesmanship and unneccessary.
    • 76' Great move from Osasuna and Nino's ball looks certain to find Lolo at the far post, but Callejon pops up to head the ball clear. Hugely important save there.
    • 75' KAKA HAS BEEN SENT OFF! He's been on the pitch all of seven minutes, and after getting booking for that arm to the head earlier, he is now penalised for encroaching on an Osasuna free kick. Ref reaches to give him a second yellow and off he goes!
    • 74' GREAT CHANCE MISSED BY OSASUNA! Osasuna hit on a lightning break, Kike Sola tackled as he goes into the box by Alonso but the ball falls to Nino outside him who knocks it back across - but the flag is up for offside! Poor decision, replay shows he was level at worst.
    • 74' Corner for Real Madrid, conceded by Damia despite nobody being around... Ozil takes it, but it's headed clear.
    • 73' Osasuna still refusing to succumb to the temptation of sending more men upfield - they're highly disciplined at the back despite the chance of a huge scalp.
    • 72' Cejudo takes the corner and it's a good one, but Arbeloa is on hand to head clear. Dangerous ball, though.
    • 71' Still the home side are bossing this match - another good chance here as Armenteros forces another corner.
    • 70' Xabi Alonso gets a yellow for a late challenge on Arribas.
    • 69' Armenteros unleashes a shot from just outside the box - it's on target, heading for the bottom right, but slightly scuffed and its a simple save for Casillas.
    • 69' Modrid is called off after a deeply unconvinving evening, and Mourinho is backing Mesut Ozil to rescue a victory.
    • 68' Osasuna get another ball in and Lolo gets a header away - but it's looped onto the top netting.
    • 68' So close! Arribas gets to the corner with a powerful header, but the ball ricochets back off Kike Sola who was jumping right in front of him! Real let off for Real Madrid there.
    • 67' Osasuna win a corner, Cejudo takes it...
    • 66' The movement comes to naught as Oier picks up a pass from the free kick and slices a long-range effort miles wide.
    • 65' Osasuna win another free kick, closer in, 35 yards out...
    • 64' Damia and Callejon clash, free kick to Osasuna.
    • 63' First involvement by Benzema as he tries to nudge a lobbed pass up for Arbeloa - it's cut out by Ruben and cleared.
    • 62' Armeneros is taken down by Arbeloa charging in a bit late and it's a free kick to Osasuna. They're still looking good for at least a point tonight.
    • 61' Kaka distinguishes his first touch of the ball by flailing his arm out while jumping for a header and sending Damia sprawling to the deck. Obviously, the injury is faked but it's still a free kick.
    • 60' Nino tries to make something happen up the right flank, but his final ball is terrible - a sort of pitching wedge trajectory straight to Casillas.
    • 59' Kaka has been tipped with a move away this January, and will be hoping either to force Mourinho to keep him - or at least make sure that he's sold somewhere good should he have to go.
    • 58' Here comes Mourinho's play of the cards: Kaka and Benzema both come on, Di Maria and Higuain come off. Can't argue with either choice - Higuain in particular has been a bit disappointing on his return.
    • 57' A shirt pull by Armentoros on Callejon - in frustration at having been brilliantly turned - earns the Osasuna man an entry in the book.
    • 56' Still no changes from either manager - Osasuna won't want to change a thing, however, they're well on top right now.
    • 55' Good shout for a free kick just outside the box for Osasuna as Armenteros is tackled roughly first by Arbeloa and then by Albiol. Ref simply indicates play on as the ball trickles down to Casillas/
    • 54' The crowd are beginning to sense an upset, great singing from the home fans now.
    • 53' Good cross in by Armenteros, but neither of his team-mates in the box can get close to getting on the end of it. Still promising, though...
    • 52' Fabulous movement by Osasuna down the left, Armenteros makes a nice run...
    • 51' Real push forward up the pitch but can't even break into the Osasuna box before the ball gets cleared. The men in red are well on top now.
    • 50' Another decent run by Osasuna's Kike Sola, only ended when three Real defenders converge on him to clear the ball.
    • 49' Real Madrid desperately need to turn this game around - though with a 14-point gap to Barca already it seems the Liga title is already out of reach.
    • 48' Kaka is warming up on the touchline - as is Benzema. Looks like Jose Mourinho is going to call for more firepower. Or different firepower, at any rate.
    • 47' Great chance for Osasuna, Kike Sola cutting in from the right, ghosting past Varane and unleashing a fierce shot that Casillas is forced to parry off for a corner.
    • 46' We're back in action in Pamplona, and neither side has made any changes to their sides.
    • - The whistle goes for half-time, leaving Real to rue that missed chance. Two good openings late on in that half but we're still goalless, and it seems amazing to say it but last-placed Osasuna are going toe-to-toe- with Real Madrid here tonight.
    • 45'+1 Great chance for Real! Lovely pass from Modric to Callejon, who battles to keep it in play - drawing the keeper as he does so - before laying back to Coentrao. The Portuguese only has a couple of defenders to beat with his shot, but he misses the target completely. Awful miss under the circumstances.
    • 45' Oier puts in a shocking late tackle on Higuain - looks painful.
    • 44' That move was a big boost before half-time for the home side. They will be beginning to believe they can win this one and can use half-time to figure out how to make it happen.
    • 43' Cejudo's effort was brilliantly struck but poorly aimed - the best move of the match so far, though.
    • 42' Stunning work by Cejudo in the centre of the park, beating two men and linking up for a one-two with Armenteros to earn a shot at goal... but it's over the top corner!
    • 41' Kike Sola gets to the corner and heads over, but only by having climbed all over Arbeloa to do so. Free kick to Real.
    • 40' Another corner for Osasuna as Nino forces Varane into a clearance.
    • 39' Honours pretty much even in the match so far - Real doing anything but run away with this.
    • 38' Modric takes the corner, and poorly - it flies long and off the other side for a throw.
    • 37' Real win a corner as Khedira keeps the ball on, forcing Betran's clearance.
    • 36' Half-chance for Real as Callejob tries a speculative looping header to try and beat Andres, who is covering back. The ball lands safely on the roof of the net.
    • 35' Promising move there from Real, but the gravitational pull of the black hole caused by Ronaldo's absence is all too obvious tonight.
    • 34' Coentrao almost makes something happen with a good run out to the left as he's picked out by Alonso - he tries to volley back across the six-yard box where Higuain and Di Maria lurk, but it's a complete mis-hit. Shame after such a neat move.
    • 33' Real Madrid facing more and more problems trying to break their opponents down: Callejon gets closed down by Damia on the right, and a promising run becomes a throw.
    • 32' It started pouring with rain earlier in the game, but it's all dried out now - still a cool night though.
    • 31' Kike Sola tries to make a break as Osasuna hit another long ball, but the offside trap is the winner once again.
    • 30' Armenteros takes the free kick, but it's punted straight at Casillas.
    • 29' A bit of treatment for that feigned injury delays the match a little.
    • 28' Osasuna win another free kick as Coentrao clashes with Arribas, and Arribas goes down clutching his face. Coentrao's hand barely brushed his opponent's face - crazy stuff, but the ref bought it.
    • 27' The home side quickly win another corner, and the ball comes to Arribas who connects with a perfect strike - only to see the ball curl away off to the left. Two great chances in as many minutes.
    • 26' Best chance to far - Andres so very nearly had egg all over his face, no idea what he was thinking. But now Osasuna break...
    • 25' Fantastic chance for Real! Osasuna keeper Andres charges out to clear a long ball out on the left of the pitch, but is beaten to the ball by Di Maria, who dribbles round him on the right and passes across the six-yard box. Khedira is there waiting to tap in, but Bertran is on hand to make a goal-saving clearance.
    • 24' Honours even so far - Osasuna not looking overawed.
    • 23' Real Madrid get the ball back and Alonso slots it through for Higuain, but he's just a yard short of getting to the pass.
    • 22' Great-looking chance opens up for Di Maria as he is picked out by a diagonal ball - he has one man to beat and is nearly through, but Damia is that man, and he takes the ball back expertly.
    • 21' Real Madrid finally get back into attacking position, but Callejon misjudges his run upfield and is well offside.
    • 20' Kiki Sola - Osasuna's top striker with a gargantuan four goals this season - is in the mix to get on the end of the free kick but is hustled off the ball by Albiol.
    • 19' Osasuna have yet another chance as they win a free kick just inside the Real half - Armenteros takes it.
    • 18' The free kick in is a beauty, swinging and almost Beckhamesque, and Casillas is beaten by it - but Real have enough men back to block the frenzied attempts to poke the ball home.
    • 17' Osasuna come up again and win a free kick on the right, taken by Bertran.
    • 16' Osasuna winger Nino makes a good run up the right and wins a throw - it comes back to Bertran, who hooks it over the top of everyone.
    • 15' Real clear the corner fast and break upfield with Di Maria making a great run - he chips it over the top to Higuain, but the flag is up.
    • 14' The resulting free kick is blasted straight off the pitch, and Osasuna make a fast move upfield and win their own corner.
    • 13' Callejon immediately in trouble again as he clashes with Ruben while going for a high ball. Ruben seems to win it cleanly but the ref is not impressed at his forearm catching the Real Madrid player - yellow card.
    • 12' Callejon drops to his haunches on the turf - huge boos from the crowd - but ref not impressed.
    • 11' Osasuna force a corner and the ball comes out as far as Damia, just outside the box, who under pressure from Alonso hacks his effort wide to the left.
    • 10' Osasuna finally get a chance to move up on the break and Lolo and Damia combine nicely as they try to make a move up the right, but Varane steps up to block.
    • 9' Real Madrid are pinging the ball around as if they're in a training match - the home side barely touching it so far.
    • 8' Another free kick for Real as Oier handballs blatantly - chance for Alonso to float one in to the box, but once again the Osasuna centre-halves are well-placed to head clear.
    • 7' Luka Modrid is settling in behind Higuain tonight - can he shake off the 'worst signing of the season' tag that Spanish media have landed him with?
    • 6' Higuain does at least get a corner, which is curled in by Alonso - who is pelted with rubbish as he takes it. Headed clear by Ruben.
    • 5' First look at Higuain as Di Maria's diagonal ball finds him in the box, but the striker is hustled well by Bertran and can't turn and shoot.
    • 4' The home side are no mugs at the back - they've actually conceded fewer goals than anyone outside the top four in the league, and indeed have let in the same this season (20) as Real have. The problem is that they simply don't score: just 14 goals in 18 matches.
    • 3' The free kick is curled weakly into the box, and is cleared easily by Osasuna's defence.
    • 2' Some big challenges going in already as Osasuna try to assert their authority at home. Xabi Alonso is clobbered by Damia and has a free kick 38 yards out.
    • 1' The referee blows the whistle and the match kicks off in Pamplona.
    • 18:59 Huge focus on Iker Casillas of late, but Real Madrid's keeper is back in the starting line-up again tonight - if only because Jose Mourinho's other glove-man Antonio Adan is suspended.
    • 18:57 But there is a glimmer of hope for the home side since Ronaldo is not the only player missing for Real Madrid: Sergio Ramos is also out, banned for five matches after going ballistic at the ref during a Copa del Rey match during the week. And with Pepe injured too, it's an unusual looking back-four for the champions.
    • 18:54 It's a monumental task for Osasuna tonight: they are bottom of the league, and are on a run of taking just one point from their last four league matches.
    • 18:50 The big news of course is that, with Ronaldo suspended, Gonzalo Higuain comes in for his first start in over two months following injury. "I am feeling good. They have been two hard months," the Argentine said this week.
    • 18:45 TEAMS: Osasuna - Andrés Fernández; Marc Bertrán, Rubén, Arribas, Damiá; Cejudo, Lolo; Oier, Nino, Armenteros; Kike Sola. Subs: Ricardo, Miguel Flaño, Puñal, De las Cuevas, Llorente, Timor y Raoul Loe. //// Real Madrid: Casillas; Arbeloa, Varane, Albiol, Coentrao; Xabi Alonso, Khedira, Modric, Di María; Callejón, Higuaín. Subs: Jesús, Kaká, Benzema, Özil, Carvalho, Marcelo, Essien
    • 18:40 Real are making do without Cristiano Ronaldo this evening: the Portuguese star is suspended for not hiding his disappointment at being beaten to the Ballon d'Or again. Sorry - that's not true at all, he's suspended for having picked up too many yellow cards.
    • 18:35 Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Real Madrid's trip to Osasuna, the whipping boys of La Liga.
  • Summary

    • 81' Unbelievable shot on goal by Damia! He unleashes a 30-yard rocket-powered volley that would have been goal of the year had it not been just a couple of feet too high and too far left. Great technique...

  9. and who can argue that Ronaldo is not the backbone of Madrid? i hope the fans start to learn to pay him some respect as Barca fans do for Messi. the difference is Barca can still win without Messi (i think?) but Madrid has very low chance of winning without Ronaldo. Madrid performance today was awful. as a Madrid fan, i didn't enjoy any one bit of it. Ossasuna dominated the whole game! the bottom league team nearly caused havoc to Madrid today. hmmm....
